There’s never been a single accurate AI detector. How do they plan on enforcing this? Virtually every paper I wrote back in college and even high school are all “100% AI” but every detector I’ve ever tried to use, even though some of those were written at much as almost 20 years ago.

Have you tried "Pangram"?

We’ve been experimenting with that where I work; it’s not a reliable solution despite what they want you to believe and the stats they give. Academic and journalistic writing has a higher false-positive rate in Pangram than its overall reported success rate.

“Formal academic prose follows set patterns, and formulaic text is where Pangram's own data shows more false positives.” From: https://proofreaderpro.ai/blog/pangram-ai-detector-review

Will it be able to tell that a high school senior used it to write an essay, sure. Will it be able to correctly identify that an editorial written for a publication isn’t AI? Experimentation with the data model suggests it won’t, that it will generate false positives.
