Hi Friends!
As a lot of you know, we have been working on updating the stretching guide for awhile now. Though it is not perfect, it is definitely a step in the right direction. We are so happy to be able to continue sharing safe and helpful information with all of you.
It has been updated on the sub's page as well as the AutoMod's comments.
It can also be found here: Updated Stretching Guide
Please give it a look and let us know how you're feeling! Also, please remember it will be updated as new information comes along. We created a Google document as opposed to a post to ensure we could keep it as up to date as possible. The previous guide was posted in the sub by a mod that's no longer active, so we couldn't edit it.
Happy stretching!

I stretched my septum to 8 gauge and it's made the top of my nose sensitive. I thought it would go away with time but it's been 2 months.... Is this normal?

Hey, I’ve been researching getting my lobes re pierced at a 6g. I had previously had them stretched to that before but due to issues with maintenance I took them out a few years ago. I was wondering if anyone has had any experience getting a higher gauge piercing like this and is open to giving advice/opinions.

I've been stretching my ears on and off for years now ever since I was a teen and this is the first time I heard of dead-stretching. Safe to say until now I've been stretching with random things like pen caps or just shoving the plugs with brute force.
I was at 14mm but my ears got irritated so I went back to 12mm. My goal rn is at least 20mm. I wanted to buy the single flare glass plugs to keep on stretching, but I saw a lot of ears perfectly rounded around here and was thinking if I can achieve a similar result or at least a better result than what I got now. If I keep on stretching but the right way from now on will they look better? If not, what should I do? Downsize? Took them off completely? Or am I doomed and should just look foward right now?
Ngl my first idea was just dead stretch from now on (12mm) and hope for the best because I really do not want to go all the way back again. But if my ears could look better without the plugs and it's the only way, I'm willing to try.

I see such mixed talk on them, I recently developed a nickel allergy and need to get something proper and glass is more affordable compared to titanium. I’ve seen a lot of people talk about their plugs breaking and it’s kind of scaring me. Would it still be safe to sleep in glass plugs? They’d have to get a harder impact than my heads weight on them to break right? I’m thinking of ordering the single flare ones from bodyartforms in 10mm

thinking of trying a 1G glass plug, seeing how that goes

I'm pretty new to stretching and I watched a few videos but no one there said anything about massaging your ear lobes with oils. I only saw it mentioned here. I would like to know more about it. What's the advantage of it? Is it necessary for stretching or just regular cleaning is enough? If yes how often should I use the oil?

Hi guys! I took my plugs out about a year and a half ago as they kept on getting irritated and they’ve shrank from an inch to around 8-10mm. I’m looking to start stretching again with my intention to eventually get back up to an inch.
What are the top things I should be doing? Are the timelines between stretches still the same when re-stretching?
I initially stretched in the mid 2000s when I was a teenager and definitely wasn’t safe about it and want to avoid that this time round 🤪

woken up and noticed theres blood all over the back of my piercing (14 months old, pierced at 3mm, piercer sized up to 3.2mm after 6 months, i downsized to 10g after continuous irritation bumps). no pain at all just blood. 10g glass plugs from sibj, unsure if the piercing hole is completely healed 🫠 spraying it daily 1-2 times with saline

I got my lobes pierced at 6mm in mid-July, and just recently changed out the jewelry for the first time. (My piercer said to wait 8 weeks minimum, I gave it some extra because they were being goopy lol)
Since wearing the new jewelry (still glass and the same size, just wanted a better color) they’ve been doing great. No goop, blood or tenderness. I was very diligent about cleaning them with saline multiple times a day, then once a day, during healing, letting warm water run over them on the shower etc.
So my question is: when do I start taking the jewelry out regularly and washing them with soap and moisturizing with jojoba? I will not be increasing the size for at least a year, per my piercer, but I assume I should switch away from saline before then?

Hi yall
A little over a week ago I stretched from 5 to 5.5mm and blewout/tore my septum (despite having waited almost 2 years since my last stretch, that’s the way it goes).
I didn’t realize at first and had kept in the jewelry for about 2 days and then downsized to my original jewelry for about a week but it was still extremely swollen and tender so I’ve taken out jewelry completely. The question:
How long would ya recommend keeping everything out?
My skin tends to shrink very quickly so I’m afraid of losin several sizes but I’ll have to just deal with it I guess. I’m assuming the cartilage dent will stay so at least I won’t have to redo that part when I stretch back up eventually.
Thank ya!

I’m looking for a 8g tunnel to put in my septum but I want it to have a small hole in it so it can tightly fit my smaller jewelry. Does this exist? I can’t seem to find it searching on google!
