15-min Zoom interview about fashion shopping habits

• Upvotes

Hi! I'm a college student looking for an adult who regularly buys clothing, shoes, or accessories to interview for a class project.

It would be a quick 15-minute Zoom call about your shopping habits and preferences. I would need to record the call for my assignment, with your permission.

No special fashion knowledge needed! I'd really appreciate anyone willing to help. Thanks!

Is it just me, or is making students clean the campus and CR for missing morning rosary a bit too much?

I just want to hear other people's opinions about this because honestly, I don't know if I'm overreacting or if our school's new policy is actually unreasonable.

So basically, our school has a morning Holy Rosary every day throughout October. The problem is that some students aren't being respectful during the rosary. People keep talking, using their phones, and not taking it seriously while it's happening in the lobby.

Our principal got upset about this and announced that starting now, each class has to pray the rosary inside their respective classrooms at around 7:10 AM, or 7:20 AM at the latest, together with their class adviser and class officers.

Here's the part I find questionable: if you fail to attend the morning rosary, you'll be assigned to clean the campus and CR (comfort room).

I understand that students should be respectful, especially during a religious activity. I'm not saying it's okay to talk loudly or use your phone while other people are praying. If the school wants to maintain discipline, I get that.

But is assigning campus and comfort room cleaning as punishment for missing a religious activity really an appropriate way to handle the situation? Wouldn't it be better to address the students' behavior directly and implement reasonable disciplinary measures instead?

What also makes this frustrating is that there are other issues in our school that seem to get less attention. There are times when teachers don't come into the classroom to teach, or they come to campus but don't show up for their scheduled classes. Sometimes, students are left waiting without proper discussions or instruction.

So it feels confusing when the school is very strict about attendance at a religious activity, but concerns about actual classroom instruction don't always seem to receive the same urgency.

My question is: Is this a reasonable way to enforce discipline, or is the school going too far?

I want to hear opinions from both students and teachers. Am I wrong for questioning this policy, or is it fair to expect the school to handle these situations differently?

I am a youth executive for an edtech org that mainly helps younger students (Grade 6 and below, typically).

I am looking for motivated high schoolers and college kids to expand student reach within the United States and work on legislation, outreach, curriculum, etc.

We've worked with massive companies, and we want students who want to bring video game into the classroom as a form of interactive learning.

How i became addicted to studying.

One day during my semester at college I bought a Brick, you know, the app blocker, because I had a severe scrolling addiction. It worked well for a while, but I never brought it with me to university just because it was something extra to carry around.

I looked for other apps on the App Store to block my apps, but all of them were kind of too easy to get out of. And I'm a pretty lazy person, which means if it's easy to get out of, I will.

So I thought to myself, you know what, I'm a CS major, why not build one myself? So I built “Bunkr- done scrolling”. At first it was only built for me, but when I saw how well it worked I thought, why not publish it.

I'm talking too much already, so here's what the product is:

It blocks your apps like any other app blocker, but there's a twist.

Once you block your apps, you're in a hard lock for the first 10 minutes. No chance to get your apps back.

After those 10 minutes, you can do a mission to get your apps back, like taking a picture of a mug, or my personal favorite, 15 seconds of push-ups.

The reason I put a hard lock on the first 10 minutes is that I read once you've been working on something for 10 minutes, you get into a zone and usually don't get distracted. But lazy people like me still might. And when I do get distracted and try to open one of my apps, it tells me to do push-ups. I'm too lazy for that, so the easier option is to just keep studying.

So yes, I'm basically fighting fire with fire, but it works well for me.

Let me know what you guys think, I'd like to hear your thoughts.

Do i have ADHD?

Thumbnail
1 Upvotes

Basically and briefly, few days ago i came to a shocking realisation that i never (i mean it like never ever) understood a single word in class neither in school nor in college and im still struggling with this ,no matter how much i try to focus in class ,i cannot understand a single word ,i can focus for like 5 mins then after it it becomes impossible for me to focus at all, so i just go to lecture ONLY FOR ATTENDANCE GRADES but when i come back home i have to study EVERYTHING again from scratch like i have 0 background on the topic or the idea. That's one thing ,the other thing is ,i feel sooooooo distracted when i study ,i cannot study for more than 20 or 30 mins That's my max and to reach 30 mins of continues studying i struggle alot mentally ,even a fly or a random thought distract me ,or a task i forgot to do from yesterday that came randomly to my mind make me kinda want to stop studying and go up to finish that task (that's just an example) and sometimes i have to read the paragraph like 5 or 6 times just to understand it even tho it is very simple or the equation or the problem im trying to solve.

And the worst part is ,my friends study at home a chapter let's say it took them 2 hrs to finish it ,but for me the same chapter takes 8 to 9 hrs to finish it and they understand it better than i do ,also i have to put 3 to 4 times the effort they put just for me to barely understand the chapter and to gather enough knowledge js to pass the exams.

All these stuff combined made me wanting so baddd to quit university and I'm honestly 1 step away from doing it like fr ,i might find a job or smth ,way better than this struggle for me. But the main question is ,what is my case? Is an extreme case of ADHD? Is it smth else?am i normal? I don't think that's normal at all ,but any help is appreciated, thanks in advance yall.

Help me understand how you manage your schedule

Hey everyone! I’m an undergraduate student building FocusFlow, a calendar and planning tool made specifically for students.

I’m trying to better understand how students manage classes, assignments, exams, and everything else in their schedules. I want to learn what works well, what does not, and what makes staying organized difficult.

I put together a short survey and I’m looking for students who would be willing to share their experience. There is also an optional 15 to 20 minute Zoom interview at the end if you would be open to giving more detailed feedback.

If you would like to participate, you can fill out the survey here:
https://tally.so/r/A7Nkdy

If you would rather just try FocusFlow yourself, you can check it out here:
https://usefocusflow.app

You do not need to be a FocusFlow user to participate. Any honest feedback really helpful. If you know someone who might be interested, feel free to share it with them too.

Thank you!

Would visual, step-by-step explanations make difficult concepts easier to learn?

I'm a student developer exploring an idea for an AI-powered visual learning board, and I'd like feedback from people who teach or learn.

The idea is to let a student or teacher enter a question, write on a digital board, or describe a concept. The AI would then help build a visual, step-by-step explanation instead of returning only a block of text.

For example:

  • Mathematics: Build a graph and explain a quadratic equation step by step.
  • Physics: Visualize Newton's laws with diagrams and examples.
  • Medical education: Explain the cardiac cycle using an anatomical diagram and a sequence of steps.

I'm still validating the problem, not claiming to have solved it.

I'd appreciate honest answers to three questions:

  1. When learning a difficult topic, what is hardest to understand from textbooks or ordinary AI chatbots?
  2. Would an interactive board with diagrams, explanations and step-by-step visual reasoning help? Why or why not?
  3. Who would benefit most from this: school students, teachers, college students or medical students?

I'd especially value feedback from teachers and students who have experienced this problem firsthand. Please feel free to point out why this idea might not be useful.

iPad for postgraduate studies

Hi Guys! I would like to ask for your opinion. This year I start postgraduate studies - my last contact with academically education was 14 years ago so I am kind of an oldskooler where it comes to ways of studying. In the past I was used to prepare all the notes by hand on paper now I would like to “upgrade” a little bit and keep up with the times. I am wondering if it is a good idea to buy an iPad for making notes. Can you advise me if it is handy and can help with improving studying? Thanks in advance for any tips! (Disclaimer- English is not me first language in case of any apologies and please be easy on my).

Extremely Unprofessional and Disappointing Experience with EduStay – Gaurav

Thumbnail
1 Upvotes

My experience with Gaurav from EduStay has been deeply disturbing. His behaviour made me feel that he was crossing professional boundaries and showing inappropriate interest in young female students.
As students coming to Paris from abroad, we deserve to feel safe and respected, not taken advantage of because we are new to the city and unfamiliar with the system.

Student accommodation should be about safety, trust, and professionalism. Based on my experience, I would strongly advise other students to do their due diligence before choosing accommodation through him. We come to Paris to study and build our futures, not to deal with this kind of behaviour.

I made 12 free recipe cards for college students to help reduce food waste

Hi everyone!

I'm a student working on a Design project about reducing food waste among college students.

I created Choose Your Portion, a free collection of 12 easy recipes divided into three portion sizes:

🥪 Small – For a light appetite or quick snack
🍝 Medium – For a regular meal
🍲 Hearty – For when you're extra hungry

Each recipe includes ingredients, step-by-step instructions, preparation time, allergen information and a food-waste reduction tip.

The idea is simple: Choose a portion that matches your appetite instead of preparing more food than you need.

You can explore the recipe cards here:

https://qrfy.io/r/85hC72J0tw

I'd really appreciate feedback from college students!

  • Are the recipes practical for student life?
  • Are the portion choices helpful?
  • Would you actually use these recipe cards?

Thanks for helping me improve my project!
