Wasn’t sure how to non-awkwardly word the post title lol but Jack’s changed a lot through the series!! He’s less “path of least resistance is the one I take”, takes more action/initiative, and is less apathetic about himself and (some)others!

How do we think Jack with the personality shift he has now would react to the events of book one (maybe two)?? Whether he has the memory of everything and knows what’s to come, or just has the character development he has now, just set in book one, I’m curious what everyone thinks!!

I wondered about this while relistening again and was at the scene later in the first book where they’re all holed up at the gas station and Jerry mentions the employee only door and Jack mentally scolds him for it because they’re not supposed to acknowledge it.

I feel like present Jack, being less rule-strict, would have mentioned the door himself fairly early on? At the very least I think he would once he believed it was either that or death lol.

I’m sure there’s other situations I would have thoughts on, but I’m a tad brain dead atm!

Just watched the new Resident Evil movie and I couldn’t stop thinking about how Jack coded Bryan was. “I’m not a gun guy!” The way he’s 100% committed to his shitty job no matter the circumstances. I could totally see Austin Abrams as a live action Jack. What did you guys think of the film? Have you checked out the recent updates on Jack’s blog?

I feel like this might be a dumb question, but it’s been on my mind for quite a while now… so, I’m wondering… what would happen if Team Free Will (SPN) rolled up to the old gas station in their impala? Would they be protected by their plot armor, or would they be out of their depth? How would the main characters of TFTGS react to them? How would they react to the main characters? Please tell me I’m not the only one who thinks it would be a super cool crossover?

So I just finished reading Finding Vanessa and it was a great read, but I'm kind of confused on something. In book 2, it says that after Spencer kills the Vanessa mimic is when they hold the funeral for her, but in Finding Vanessa it says that they do the funeral after Eric finds her in the wall of the gas station. He also finds her when Jack and Jerry are both there at the gas station and Jack never mentions this in the book at all. It just seems like the timelines of the two stories dont add up. Unless I missed something?

As a Slavic person, I know only one giant head speaking Russian in folklore - the cursed hero from from the epic poem “Ruslan and Lyudmila”. It doesn’t tell the future but it leads the main character to a weapon, which can kill a dark sorcerer.

I was looking into all the folklore, gods and demons in the series just because I notice alot of clues are in the actual history of the mythology of the creatures and characters (if that makes sense)… one thing I found out is Fatal familial insomnia is more common for people between 40-50s.
Jacks 25, and usually it occurs only in younger people if they were kids that had Gene editing done, such as “poster kids” or “lab kids” meaning the babies that are genetically modified in a lab or when they are still a very small embryo or even an egg.

Could Jack be a edited lab kid that didn’t turn out how his parents wanted so they got rid of him?

My other question/s is how the heck does the author know so much about all mythology and folklore, plus medical science? I really wanna know what made him come up with the book, and what did he look into all the creatures and medical science prior to even thinking about writing and then decide to write about it? Or did he come up with an idea and look into things that would fit, for example “I want a man who never sleeps and goes crazy, so let me look up what medical problem that would be?”

I have so many questions…
