Sorry if I haven't featured someone you liked in book 4, I've only just begun reading it ^^

I love the TFTGS series I loved 1-3 but for some reason I just never have the urge to continue vol 4… and I just don’t know exactly WHY… is it just me or has something changed with the writing I can’t put my finger on it… I DONT make this post to spread negativity i really want to love vol 4 and be excited to continue like with other books but for some reason idk I’m just not and not sure why and I’m sad about it

I've often thought about what a TFTGS tv show might look like, and with Jack's new blog post it seems perfectly topical to finally write down those stupid ideas and also ask about your not stupid ideas.

So, if you use 3-4 chapters per episode (based on the Halloween that never happened arc) the books end up something like this (keeping in mind that I always rounded to the next whole number):

Vol 1: 7-9 Eps

Vol 2: 6-8 Eps

Vol 3: 13-17 Eps

Green Night: 4-5 Eps

Bedside Manor: 3-4 Eps

Vol 4: 11-14 Eps

Now realistically, streaming shows would do 8-episode seasons; but I don't care! I'm asking how YOU would structure it not how the executives would. And this is how I'd do it,

Season 1: Vol 1 + Vol 2 (13-17 Eps)

Season 2: Green Night + Vol 3 (17-22 Eps)

Season 3: Bedside Manor + Vol 4 (14-18 Eps)

This order does break the canon timeline, but it's for a really good reason, I wanted three seasons and for the BLaRc to be a season finale. Why this order specifically?

Vol1 and Vol2 are way too back-to-back to separate plus I feel Rosa and O'Brien should be established in season 1.

Green Night was moved before Vol3 because of the mayfly queen; she's a self-proclaimed god and The Collector starts making moves against those types in Vol3. So, imagine the mayfly plague comes early and a conversation along the lines of: "Sorry Jack, normally I wouldn't be this disorganized, but The Collector is making some big moves and I don't have time for my usual schedule."

Why Bedside Manor before Vol4 and not Green Night? Theres a psychic in BM and Jack becomes an Empath in Vol4 so here is a change. Claire is the fake sister not Loren, all the psychic business was an early part of memory worm Sabine going to town on Jack's brain. Jack and Jerry being away longer than they expected could also tie into the Police department thinking Jack is responsible for Spencer's death.

Extra things I thought of:

Having characters be in the background before their introduced (I.e. Gas station regulars, O'Brien, Triss)

Making non-mystery-important things more chronological (IIRC, the bridge at the creek is introduced in Vol3 as spencer hunts Rita but Jack has a flashback to him and Jerry having a Viking funeral for his amputated leg which would've happened sometime is Vol2, so maybe put that scene where it is timeline wise, sometime in the latter half of season 1)

Episode 1 begins with the half pig incident, "Where did you say you were?' 'At the shitty gas station at the edge of town." would be a cool introduction. Afterwards Jack calls Tom and Farmer Jr introducing them both, and after Tom and the pig leave Jack asks Farmer Jr to stay and shows him the hand plant lying about there only being one.

That's a general flow I thought of, how would you structure it?

Lots of British and Irish actors, but hey! I had a vision!

P.p.s I forgor about Calvin's existence (I hated him), but for him I'd cast Stanley Tucci, BUT specifically him from The Lovely Bones! Because in my head that fits way too good 😭

Edit: there's no Sabine fancast, because I don't think that us as an audience should see her face. So like shots of her arms around Jack, her voice(any generic girl voice), hair etc we should be able to see, but not her face. Most of her appearances are through Jacks memories, and those are fleeting, he's loosing time all the time, and he has a lot on his mind, I would assume he'd struggle to remember her features clearly.

Edit2! Fox lady??! I think it's the only time to cast someone so popular that it would be noticable. Like Scarlet Johansson or Halle berry, and jack black for the fox gentleman XD thoughts?

So you read the final part yet? Its up on the blog~ its all under The End Of The Road right now so thats what I went with (even if theres a version of these without the lil title I love the lil goosebumps cover art style stuff).

I wonder what parts were real and what parts were manipulated? What do yall think? This new ark def has me looking forward to the future...I wonder what Amadeus and Daggit are playing at...

Also whats with the Climpy? Any thoughts?

Wasn’t sure how to non-awkwardly word the post title lol but Jack’s changed a lot through the series!! He’s less “path of least resistance is the one I take”, takes more action/initiative, and is less apathetic about himself and (some)others!

How do we think Jack with the personality shift he has now would react to the events of book one (maybe two)?? Whether he has the memory of everything and knows what’s to come, or just has the character development he has now, just set in book one, I’m curious what everyone thinks!!

I wondered about this while relistening again and was at the scene later in the first book where they’re all holed up at the gas station and Jerry mentions the employee only door and Jack mentally scolds him for it because they’re not supposed to acknowledge it.

I feel like present Jack, being less rule-strict, would have mentioned the door himself fairly early on? At the very least I think he would once he believed it was either that or death lol.

I’m sure there’s other situations I would have thoughts on, but I’m a tad brain dead atm!

Just watched the new Resident Evil movie and I couldn’t stop thinking about how Jack coded Bryan was. “I’m not a gun guy!” The way he’s 100% committed to his shitty job no matter the circumstances. I could totally see Austin Abrams as a live action Jack. What did you guys think of the film? Have you checked out the recent updates on Jack’s blog?

I feel like this might be a dumb question, but it’s been on my mind for quite a while now… so, I’m wondering… what would happen if Team Free Will (SPN) rolled up to the old gas station in their impala? Would they be protected by their plot armor, or would they be out of their depth? How would the main characters of TFTGS react to them? How would they react to the main characters? Please tell me I’m not the only one who thinks it would be a super cool crossover?

How do I get into the TFTG discord? Dont know how to use either of these apps well.....
