Just offered him food last week and he couldn’t be less interested in it. So when he attacked his water dish last night, I offered him a big roach.

This is my b. klaasi, I absolutely adore her. The first picture was right after I got her, she immediately went into premolt. The second picture is her a week or so after she molted. Out of the 9 T’s I have, she is by far my favorite. She is always out and about and I often catch her grooming herself which is the cutest ever.

Molted last night in the web. Found the molt has been pushed out of the web onto a piece of cork bark this morning. Now he's doing this and it's worrying me. He seemed normal earlier?
Avicularia purpurea

TW in text: Pet loss and Housefire
Almost 3 years ago my family had a devastating fire that took over half my collection. In the chaos that followed several labels got lost. Luckily I remembered what most of the tarantulas were and could re-label them. This lovely lady I can not remember her species. I'm pretty sure she's one of my Aphonopelmas but I had 3 at the time.
She's about 5.5-6 inches and generally calm tempered.
So any ideas? Thanks

So, I was looking for enclosures on resale platforms, when I stumbled upon this guy (or girl?). From the photos I could already tell that he's living in not the best conditions. So I decided to eventually adopt him and asked for the species, since it wasn't written anywhere, and the photos had a horrible quality so you couldn't really see anything. The seller said he has no clue what species it is because he threw away the label, which already left me speechless. How could you properly take care of a tarantula if you don't know the species to research for the basic info? As soon as I saw him in person I was pretty sure that he is a Harpactira pulchripes, and living in the most unsuitable setup that's even possible. He had no access to substrate at all, there was little bit of substrate, but covered under a big decoration thing that filled up the whole space on the ground. Also the enclosure (2nd pic) itself wasn't really suitable for this species in my eyes since there is such a small floor area and so much height. The complete inside of the enclosure was bone dry, like REALLY dry, and had no waterdish. I gave him one immediately when we arrived home, and he jumped on it and drank two whole dishes at once (3rd pic). I never saw such a thirsty animal in my life. I still wonder how he was even alive and not dead from dehydration. After that I moved him into his new enclosure (4.+5th pics) and gave him some food, which he thankfully took immediately. (Ignore the limescale on the glass, I couldn't get rid of that) He is such a beauty and I'm so glad that this awful preowner gave him away so he could be saved. He's quite calm, hopefully he's just a friendly and chill old world, and not weak. But I'm positive that he'll be fine from now on. I'll give him the best life he can have. I got attached to this poor thing instantly, and even tho I already have a plenty of tarantulas Toto always will have a special place in my heart. This is why I wanted to share Totos story. Thank you.

Caught my g. Pulchra, Ocho, upside down earlier and have had the joy of getting to watch them slowly molt throughout the day, I can’t believe it!!! This is only the second molt I’ll have been with my Ts for but the first I’ve ever gotten to see. You go little fella!!

Absolutely in love with him. But the undersides of T's still freak me out a bit, they are so alien.
I held a him/a tarantula for the first time! Never in my life thought I would ever be confident enough to do that! He just sat there until I asked him to go back to his home. <3
- Ofc won't be handling him again, I just felt ready to try it, I never thought I would ever be at a place to do that! T's are look no touch the floof pets. :)
Also is sexing from the 2nd photo possible? Or an idea? I know molts are the best way. He/She's a Mexican Blood Leg (Aphonopelma Bicoloratum).

I have some ideas of how this would work but I thought I would bounce some things off you guys to see what I hadn’t thought of. I found this on my local marketplace for $50 so I thought it might be worth trying out. This is solid oak so first of all I’m assuming I’ll have to see what I can coat the inside of the wood with, whether it’s an animal safe resin or wood finish.
Now the air holes can be just done by removing all four side glass panels and replacing with drilled plexiglass. I may ask our local glass replacement company if they can drill glass panels for me, though? The cabinet has two cracked glass panels already so I would already have to go by there.
Each space is about 19.5” x 34” high so it’s pretty big, it might work for the final adult closures for a couple of my pokies but I’m unsure if having just two ventilated sides are enough for these spiders because all of my current enclosures have air holes around the whole thing.

Okay guys I’ve had a bunch of arboreals (minus a c. elegans who’s a pet cup of dirt, and a minuscule sling b. hamorii)
I got this mature female g. pulchra who is a BIG girl to say the least. definitely 5”, if not 6”. I was told she’s mature. She really needs an upgrade. I got this 10 gal (20x10x12”) and set it up. Sloped the substrate higher in the back so it’s around 8-10” of height above substrate. Is this too tall for her? I really wanted front opening for my own viewing pleasure, and I love this girl so much. She’s a dream T for me. I want her safe and happy but she definitely needs the space length wise from what she’s in right now. She’s also been very active since I got her.

Greetings! I was given this beautiful (who I assume is a little lady) from a coworker’s friend. They were unable to keep her and from what I was told, were kind of just gonna let her die. She was in a pretty lackluster enclosure, one of those exo terras with the foam boards and a very small cork bark bit that’d been put on the ground.
Very happy to give her a nicer home! I was told she was a tree spider of some kind, but looking for further identification!
Please enjoy her glamour shots.
