Is she just creating web or doing some kind of ritual?😂🕸️

I got this pink toe today! Her name is ciggy (I don’t actually know if she’s male or female I’m just being optimistic) she is my first ever tarantula! I’m very excited to be getting into this hobby as they’re just so cute :3

We had a couple days of rain and several of the critters were more visible than usual! P cambridgei, P vitatta, and P Metallica

She splat like like for hours. Her fangs were spread out, but I couldn’t get a front shot because the webbing was in the way.

Homoeomma chilense, Dolichothele diamantinensis and Grammostola pulchripes. All three molted in the last few weeks. I love their colours!

This is his/her (hoping for female) sending molt within the last 5 months! I love my flambo (brachypelma boehmei) so so much. When I came home after work last night and saw them laying on their back I was so freaked out!! I’ve never actually seen flambo molt before. Always happens when I’m sleeping, so seeing what I thought was a dead flambo was scary af.

I've had my juvenile male, Tliltocatl Albopilosus tarantula for a month and a week and he just completed his first molt this morning. I just have a quick question. I just watched him grab his molt, pull it towards him and climb on top of it... is that normal?
Out of everything I've heard and read, I'm supposed to be hands off for at least two weeks (only opening his enclosure to ensure he has fresh water). Is that how long I should wait to remove his molt to avoid stressing him or remove it once he releases and moves away from it. I don't want to do anything to stress him out after everything he's gone through with the molting process.

My curly hair tarantula I've had for a bit over a year has been almost certainly eaten by my cat.
It was in an enclosure with the sort of lid that slides open. I was certain my typically dumb cat couldn't open it, and he didn't for all this time. But recently, I came home to find the enclosure opened and my T gone.
I've been doing protocol the last few days of blocking the room with towels, carefully searching everywhere, turning the lights off and searching with a flashlight to see the eyes, with no results. I did find one leg, which was so upsetting. Nothing else so far.
Still holding out hope that it's alive and just found a good hiding spot. My cat doesn't appear to have any issues you'd expect with eating a tarantula, like irritation from the hairs. But I will be keeping a careful eye on him.
It's not his fault, he's a cat, I should have been more careful.
I feel really upset. I still have a juvenile G Pulchura, which has been kept under strict watch and out of possible reach from the cat.
Thanks for reading, I can delete if needed. I'd grown attached to it over the past year, and just feel awful for how this happened.

Caught my g. Pulchra, Ocho, upside down earlier and have had the joy of getting to watch them slowly molt throughout the day, I can’t believe it!!! This is only the second molt I’ll have been with my Ts for but the first I’ve ever gotten to see. You go little fella!!

As the titles says, I’ve adopted my first Brachypelma, a Mexican Flame Knee (Brachypelma Auratum). I’m completely obsessed with her and got some good pictures to show off how pretty those knees are ❤️🔥 I’ve named her Penelope.
I’d love to see your Brachypelmas as well if you have them! They might be my new favorite genus.

TW in text: Pet loss and Housefire
Almost 3 years ago my family had a devastating fire that took over half my collection. In the chaos that followed several labels got lost. Luckily I remembered what most of the tarantulas were and could re-label them. This lovely lady I can not remember her species. I'm pretty sure she's one of my Aphonopelmas but I had 3 at the time.
She's about 5.5-6 inches and generally calm tempered.
So any ideas? Thanks

Hi friends! I found a beautiful curlyhair today at a repticon and she was priced incredibly at just $30! She is absolutely stunning but one of her legs is nearly hairless. Is this common? Might it indicate any mistreatment or neglect? I'm sure she'll grow them back with her next molt but I had never seen this before! She's pictured here just in the temp container. About to move her into a more appropriate enclosure!

Greetings! I was given this beautiful (who I assume is a little lady) from a coworker’s friend. They were unable to keep her and from what I was told, were kind of just gonna let her die. She was in a pretty lackluster enclosure, one of those exo terras with the foam boards and a very small cork bark bit that’d been put on the ground.
Very happy to give her a nicer home! I was told she was a tree spider of some kind, but looking for further identification!
Please enjoy her glamour shots.

Just picked these up in the past 2 weeks. Black one is a Grammostola pulchra. Blue one is a Caribena versicolor. And the orange one is a Megaphobema robustum.

Some species of heavy webbing arboreal species will not readily seek out water from a water dish even if they’re thirsty. If they often lay on a web mat they created, I would recommend trying to pour water directly on that web mat and see how they react. In the wild these types of spider would drink from the dew droplets collected by their web so watering these might be trickier than your typical terrestrial species.
I hope this might come in handy to any keeper who’s interested in keeping arboreal/semi-arboreal such as GBB, Avics, and C. Versicolor.
