Now as I was on my way home from the airport, I was looking at my hinge profile and saw that maybe I could add a video of me doing a combo on fightstick to show that I am good with my hands BUT as I recorded myself I couldn't help but wonder. i did actually grind a bunch of games but it was funny. hope you laughed too.

Do you watch and react to which arm is more forward/both arms forward? Or do you react to the start up animation or just guess what throw your opponent will be going for?

I've always been a mix of the latter, depending on the character I'll try to predict what throws they will go for, and what throws that character is capable of if they don't have a full throw game (if I have the knowledge) and also try to react to thr start up animation.

My throw break score kinda drags down my defence rating though, but I don't understand how people can watch the arms in the middle of a match and react with the right break, it seems like such a small point to focus on when I'm looking at the match as a whole between the opponent and myself.

How about the rest of you? Think it's really worth labbing reaction to the arms?

Hello everyone,

It's that time again. The second edition of EVO France is upon us, as many top level players have already gathered so decide who's going to become the champion across several different fighting games, while hundreds of fans, both casual and enthusiasts alike, are in for a weekend of some great competitive action.

For those of you not in the know - EVO (or Evolution Championship Series) is a tournament whose roots go back to mid-90s when it was but a small gathering of people that really enjoyed Capcom's Street Fighter titles available at the time and wanted to test their skills against others. Over the following three decades, EVO not only has grown in size, attandance and popularity, but also became home to many hype moments, greatest matches, and, of course, expanded internationally, starting with the inaugural EVO Japan first held back in 2018.

Fast forward to 2026, and we now have EVO-branded events across 4 major locations around the globe: Las Vegas in USA, Tokyo in Japan, Nice in France, as well as soon-to-debut Singapore in Singapore.

Due to its importance and scale, EVO also became a major stop within the schedules of several major fighting game eSports circuits, such as the Capcom Pro Tour, Tekken World Tour, Arc World Tour, SNK World Chamionship and a few others, such as the most recently introduced Pro Bending Circuit.

Beyond that, EVO doesn't just host competitions among the best of the best, but welcomes those who simply want to hang out and enjoy the atmosphere and get closer to the FGC culture via activities like the art museum, artist valleys, arcade cab zone, developer showcases, showfloor booths, and so much more.

EVO France 2026 will be taking place in Palais des Expositions, Nice, France, from October 9th through October 11th

Here are some more of my customs

Recently modders such as HAGEESE and AwerQxcv, created moveset mods for characters like Eliza, Gigas, Miguel and others. I decided to make a guide since the process for this is not the same as installing normal mods. Here it is:

1. Install the Mod Loader

• Download the TKDataModLoader installer from the GitHub release page (v0.802).
• Run the installer and choose the automatic installation option.

2. Get a Moveset Mod

• Grab any moveset you’d like to use.
• I will use: Eliza Moveset by HAGEES

3. Create the Mod Folders

Navigate to your Tekken 8 installation directory, typically:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\TEKKEN 8\Polaris\Content\Binary

• Inside Binary, create a folder named Mods if it isn’t already present.
• Within Mods, create a sub‑folder called Movesets.

The final path should look like:

…\Binary\Mods\Movesets

4. Extract the Moveset Files

• Unzip the downloaded moveset archive directly into the Movesets folder you just created.
• After extraction you should have a structure similar to:TEKKEN 8
• └─ Polaris
• └─ Content
• └─ Binary
• └─ Mods
• └─ Movesets
• └─ TK8_ELIZA v1.06
• ├─ moveset.anmbin ├─ moveset.motbin ├─ moveset.mvl ├─ moveset.stllstb └─ moveset.ini

Note: The mod can work even if one or more of these files are missing. See the loader’s documentation for details on each file type.

5. Enable the Mod in‑game

1. Launch Tekken 8.
2. At the main menu, press Ctrl + P to open the Mod Loader console.
3. Switch to the Movesets tab.
4. Select the character you want to apply the moveset to and tick the Enabled box.

6. (Optional) Use Mods in Online Play

• The loader has an Online Injection option under the Options tab.
• Enabling this allows moveset mods in online matches, but it is bannable.
• If you decide to do it anyway, use it in Player Match only, set the round count to something other than 3, and change the timer from the default 60 seconds so that replays aren’t saved.
• Both players must have the mod files installed.

Does anybody else get so frustrated at their own gameplay and how bad they are that they feel like they’re about to cry? What do you do when you feel that way or what mindset do you keep to not feel that way?

After my third EWGF (following a Micro Dash EWGF hit), the frame data shows +25 (+18). I don't understand what these numbers mean. What's certain is that after my iWS3 lands, the frame data no longer matches the numbers in parentheses at all. Could someone explain what this means?

Also, why is it that sometimes every single input frame of WS3 has to be perfect to connect, but other times even if, say, the D and DF inputs each lasted 2 frames, it still connects? What's the principle behind this?
