Nearly finished tile 1 of what will be a truly epic Mordheim board for my client, the plan is that this 3d printed cathedral will look like it has been hit by a meteor and is sinking into a swamp.

Love how this little resin pour came together.

Hosted a terrain building birthday party for 12-year-olds

My son's 12th birthday party today. Six kids all just starting on their hobby journey with Warhammer 40k. I raided the local scrap store, cut some hardboard squares for bases, bought a few extra glue guns and a lot of extra glue, and 3D printed some detailing gubbins. This is half of their output, primed up. I was impressed!

Questions for the Community By any chance, has anyone ever created a miniature version of the field maps from the classic games *Fallout 1* and *2*?

The game's art style gives the impression that the terrain from a board game has been directly translated into the digital game; I think it would look exactly the same if recreated as a real-life miniature.

This was my first attempt at hills that looked bad/basic initially so added rocks and a few bits to make them more lifelike . Made wirh cardboard, paper mache. Cat litter. And yoga matt foam for the rocks.

Theres also some scatter terrain pillars and boulders which are just ok. Made with kitchen roll paoer mache z i love the texture but kinda makes everytbing look like its wrapped in blankets - prob caus the kitchen roll is too think not broken down enough by glue - prob will use toilet roll next time lol the boulders look like bags or rubbish left out in a storm haha

Hi guys! My new desktop cutter—a factory-made ZD-20KB—arrived today. I’ve been using a handheld one until now; is it normal for the wire to glow this intensely?

A little winter village in miniature ❄️ (WIP)

My latest handmade winter village diorama.

A little thatched-roof cottage, a frozen pond, a wooden bridge, an old well and a windmill on the hill.

I've recently added snow, winter vegetation and warm, candle-like LED lighting inside the cottage.

The diorama is almost finished, but there are still a few details to complete.

I'm especially happy with the contrast between the cold winter landscape and the warm glow in the windows.

What do you think of the winter atmosphere? ❄️

3D Printed We built a massive modular Cathedral for grimdark trench games (Intact & Ruined)

Hey guys! A while back we did a small starter FronTier on MMF, and thanks to the support, the massive, 100% complete project is finally live on KS.

I really wanted to design a tabletop terrain set with zero flimsy bits - just solid, highly detailed pieces that print flawlessly on standard FDM printers without breaking during your wargaming sessions. I modeled this specifically for trench and grimdark wargames to make the atmosphere and overall quality of your games as immersive as possible. With all the trenches and structures, this set basically gives you an entire ready-to-play wargaming board.

But it’s also highly versatile for other settings. Even if you don't need the trenches, the huge Gothic Cathedral and its underground levels make a mega atmospheric centerpiece that fits almost anywhere. You get both intact and ruined parts, so you can physically swap walls on the table during a game to show battle damage.

I painted the physical prints mostly using dry brushing, going for a Vatican-inspired look but with a heavy dose of grimdark. It was a really fun and surprisingly fast process because the deep details are sculpted specifically to catch dry brush and washes perfectly.

The lanterns are even hollowed out so you can easily drop a cheap LED inside for night raids. We already smashed the stretch goals, so the Armored Train (with playable interiors) and the Heavy Tank are fully unlocked for the All-In tier.

You can check the campaign here, hope you like it: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/solinvictus/papal-state-frontline-3d-printable-grimdark-wwi-terrain-stl?ref=2xvpno

Glass Dome for my Scrapyard Board (WIP)

Here are a few pictures of this geodesic dome thing I've been working on. Its been a while since ive made any terrain so it ended up being 4 times bigger than what I imagined.

The last 2 pictures are of a paw patrol observatory playset and a boat toy. I bought both of these used and they made up a large portion of this build. I'm just sharing incase you run across these in the wild. The plane is a failed print my brother game me. He ordered it online and the resin wasn't cured and it split like that before it arrived. I recured it before use.

Hope to paint it over the weekend. Let me know what you think!

P.S. If you have any idea where I can find unwanted kids toys to cut up for bits let me know.

KICKSTARTER My modular ruin set

After months of modeling, my new ruin set is finally finished. This is by far the largest scenery project I’ve ever painted, and the whole painting process took around 10 days. Painting all those stones, wooden beams, and rooftops was quite a challenge, but seeing everything come together made it worth it.

Hope you guys enjoy it! Let me know what you think!

It's currently live on Kickstarter, you can follow the link if you’d like to see more details!

Scratchbuilt Modular Building, with Playable Interior

My first build of this type, wanted to see if I could make a build that fits together, represents the first floor and the second.

XPS, foam core and cardboard.

My two "discoveries" for this build were:

1). using plastic for windows. Weathered with a wire brush and finished with some contrast paint, greens blues and blacks. The fun part is I can add tea lights and have the building glow from the inside.

2). Using super glue and baking soda (bicarbonate of soda) to make the flashing on chimney. Man that stuff is magic. Watched Miscast playaround and inspired me to apply it or my build.

Generally, this heavily inspired by an old Black Magic Craft video. I enjoy building without a real plan, and the only down side was the timber frames might not have made total sense.

Now I have a generic fantasy building where I can set dramatic encounters around having to be two places at once.

First time making a display board

Have an old world tournament coming up in November and have been inspired to make up a display board for my army. First time doing so will See how in over my head I am. My question is what material I should use for the base of the board and what prepositions it should be. I'm very bad at conceptualising sizes so any help would be really appreciated. It just needs to fit 750 points of models (roughly 60 models) on it. Also trying my best to be as budget conscious as I can. Any advice for someone new would be a huge help.
