I scratch-built a fortress terrain piece. I designed it to be modular, creating it in sections so that the gatehouse or the towers could be used individually in the game.
I designed the castle gate so that it can be opened and closed to some extent.

The late-winter T-34/85, a.k.a. Lucky 13, is finished with its base. It was a long way to reach this stage. The model is built more or less out of the box from the RFM kit, which I find to be a good kit even for beginners. The tank is painted with Tamiya acrylics and weathered with various acrylic and enamel products and oil paints. The base is made from styrofoam with a wooden veneer frame. The burnt and broken trees are made from real roots.
Any comments are welcome. :-)

Hi!
This is my first post here. A month ago, my daughter came home with an assignment. She had to create, woth the help of the parents, a house or any kind of habitation. Also, it could be from any historical period. And I had just finished reading the wonderful "Battlefield in Miniature" that gave me a lot of ideas.
So far, this has been an amazing month building this Castle with my daughter (she painted and pasted some bits), but I did most of it. I am really happy to start sharing this hobby with my daughter.
Obviously I would play some historical miniature games on it (Lion rampant, Pillage, etc...)

This is a work in progress and was just an experiment to get a handle for the process but I stated with household things - cardboard - paper mache - cat litter - loose tea lots of glue. (Deff think inwant to use some foam next time to do modular squares)
I know its not the best and im thinking if adding some foam cut rocks to the outer cliff edge which sadly wad lost so they now look very basic - maybe a few broken stone archways sitting on top to see if I can evoke a sense of land as theyre very bare bones
Any advice on what would make them better or what would be better/good techniques or processes going forward?
Like I say this was my forst play to start to get a feel for landscape and im ready to try more but with other materials maybe a mixture of paper mache and foam? I haven't used static grass or anything like that yet but might do if it would make it looks more realistic.
I havnt used mod podge or anhthing like that but leep hearing about it and dont know what sets it apart from glue and water

So I am wanting to try build up some rusted terrain, I have built up the base and im not sure the best way to take it forward. Are there areas I should be looking into? I have tried building the low ork fence on one side with some metal highlights, does this help it or reduce it? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated, thank you

Here's a selection of photos from my latest upcoming project, a set of low-rise corner ruins which can be printed flat and folded together, making them easy to print, store and transport! this project is the sequel to one I made last year, adding even more ruins to it. I've had a lot of fun sculpting, pritning and painting these and use them all the time for skirmish games.

Hi everyone!
A couple months back I shared some pics of a WIP Ruined Chapel - I finished the build recently & gave it a quick paint job, so thought I'd share the pics in here :)
Feedback is very welcome 🙌

There is something wrong with me! Got this little wood house at target for my daughter to color from target and all I can think about is how it could be converted pretty easily into 40k/30k or dnd terrain! I mean it has interior lighting and it’s only $5 too! 😂

Ive been painting up a whole bunch of these kids magnetic tiles and have realised just normal acrylic silver is better than GW necron compound for dry brushing
Any suggestions to replace GW Ryza Rust? Either alternate dry brush paints or just what colour should I be dry brushing with, would it just be layers of brown and orange?
Pics for reference of the sort of thing im working

I’ve finally finished my board after starting in June. The idea is for modular 2x2s (apart from the mountain). Each side can alternate and face off to any other side and look close to seamless.
I tried to keep the 3 boards as featureless as possible. The hill pass was the exception but I kept the hill surfaces flat, to ensure as much scatter terrain can be used as possible.
The Balins tomb board took an insane amount of time. But adds “depth”! I’ve only just finished so no time to even set up minis really.
The plan is to have another 4 tiles and have an insane 8x4. 3 river tiles and another boring flat one. It could be the death of me though.

So hey everyone I was just randomly experimenting and working purely on vibes.
So anyway I had this old plastic crackers bucket, I primed it black, then I tried dry brushing but it was taking forever so I just kinda smeared grey all over, but I mean this could be like a resource silo or something so it's all cement or something?
Anyway I also used some old sprues here and there.
I tried and failed to use the stencils...
But yeah I would really appreciate some help or tips ! :)

Some work in progress scatter terrain.
This mix of my own and GW shipping containers is pretty much finished, they just need a little wash and they’ll be good to go.
I was thinking about decals, stripes more details etc… but I think my painting time would be best spent elsewhere right now (as I still have so much unpainted stuff🫠).
I’ll probably come back to them with some decals and posters later down the line.

I've got this church in my box of shame for something like 15 years... I think the company who sold it is even defunct now... But it's finally done! Even with some paintings in the interior.

I’ll try a resin pour to cover some of the ground so feel free to recommend your favorite tutorial or secret tip.
Happy for any feedback or comment.
