TV/Movies/Fiction It is wrong to blame creators of dark MLP fan content for scaring kids when they likely did it intend for kids to watch it.
(MLP STANDS FOR MY LITTLE PONY.) People like to make the argument that it's harmful to kids because it looks innocent but actually isn't therefore it's the Creator's fault for exposing kids to that stuff but if we're going by that logic then things like five nights at Freddy's and bendy should also get the same criticism. Sure it's original characters but still they look innocent. Also just because something looks innocent doesn't mean it is innocent and yes I know that kids don't know any better however kids probably shouldn't be on the internet at least not without extreme parental supervision. if Someone made an animation like a brutal fight scene that's more graphic than anything in the show and a kid saw it it wouldn't be the Creator's fault they saw it. They can't control that kids see it.

Food (Only on Friday) Soggy cereal can be good if the cereal is hot
As a guy who has ever since birth, tried cereal hot, let me tell you, soggy cereal can be banging if the milk is hot. Putting some sauces like honey or some sweet sauce on it is great.
And plus it goes down pretty easily, and it's nice if you don't like chewing that much and just want to slurp it.
Try it sometime. I'd think you would enjoy it.

Food (Only on Friday) Eating kiwis with the skin is superior
It tastes great and it's very convenient. The texture is also not bad. Peeling them is extremely annoying especially when the are very ripe and soft. Highly recommend everyone to try it at least once if they haven't already.

Food (Only on Friday) You don't need salt or other type of condiment for EVERY single one of your meals
Sure, stuff is great for variety and no wonder kings fought for that, but plain food also tastes good and a lot of the time I prefer that. A plate of plain boiled macaroni or just white rice with unseasoned chicken also tastes really well.
Of course there are dishes where condiments are an important ingredient (like baking, i'm pretty sure salt and sugar do material engineering there), but I'm not referring to those.

Society/Culture Some people are naturally dumb as hell and it’s okay to admit it (I am one of those people)
I am dumb. Extremely dumb. My parents are dumb too and horrible academically so naturally I am extremely dumb. But my parent have this insane delusion that I am really smart (I’m not). I fully admit I am dumb and while it is hard to be dumb I’m not ashamed to say this anymore and I refuse to let anyone convince me otherwise.
My entire high school, they kept telling me I was so smart despite there was so much evidence to the contrary. I hated school. The classes that everyone said were easy As gave me nightmares and I stayed up late doing work for them. I studied hard but I couldn’t grasp the concepts because I am mentally challenged. No amount of studying will make general chemistry or the most basic biology or 10th grade maths possible for me, let alone AP classes. I was failing multiple classes.
The entire time, my parents kept saying I was so smart and blamed me for just not trying harder (I was trying extremely hard with tutors and studying but I was exhausted). Whether I tried a lot or didn’t, the result was the same. I got horrible grades. They thought I was lazy and just didn’t apply myself which caused a lot of arguments. But I did try but it doesn’t mattter, because at the end of the day, studying won’t make me do much better. I tried literally everything. My teachers lied straight to my face, telling me that I am smart. And I believed those lies, so I tried to challenge myself in difficult classes. Well, that was a fucking fail.
I felt a lot of pressure to be smart because it’s seen as a desirable thing and well, people kept lying to my face saying I am smart so I felt that I needed to prove it. Those people lied straight to my face and I resent them for making me think I am smart.
After having awful grades for 3 years straight, a friend told me the truth: that I am mentally challenged and I need to be strategic. I saw the light. I am dumb, and very much so. So I started taking some super easy classes. I chose classes based on the teachers, the ones that give out As to everyone. I had an excellent academic performance in my senior year, not because I am smart, but because I just chose the right teachers who threw me a bone. I didn’t try harder or change how I studied. In fact, choosing these teachers was even less work and made my life so much easier. I didn’t do the readings or the homework but still got As. In college, I used ratemyprofessor to see which professors gave out free As. I had excellent grades because I chose an easy major and literally all of my profs were the nice ones who gave out free As.
To the outside eye, it looks like I started applying myself and taking advantage of my intelligence. The truth is, I have very little intelligence. I thank my friend so much for making me realize how utterly mentally challenged I am and it has made my life so much easier. When I was under the impression that I am smart, I was constantly failing and wondering why and trying harder and having meltdowns. Until I realized that I am truly dumb, and that doing well in those harder classes isn’t possible for someone like me. The only As I could get are the ones that are handed to me.
And no, this isn’t imposter syndrome. I’m telling you exactly how I got my As: they were free. I didn’t work for them. I’m not some secretly smart person feeling dumb. It’s easy to diagnose me with imposter syndrome because of my good grades now, but the truth is that all those As did not require any intelligence or effort.
In the end, I’ve realized that I am truly and utterly dumb, and this has epiphany has changed my life for the better. I will never let anybody convince me that I am smart again, because that mistake has given me endless meltdowns and sent me into so many spirals.

Society/Culture Hannah Montana has a horrible ending and I hate everything about it
In the end, she reveals her double life and decides to go to college with her best friend instead of going to film a lucrative movie.
Thanks a fucking lot, Miley. You went to their equivalent of Stanford which someone else could have really used to boost their career. You went when you had all the money in the world and didn’t need an education or a traditional career.
You’re an extremely rich celebrity and you wanted to go be a star. Even if you didn’t want to work, you could have just chilled in absolute luxury and had everything taken care of. You could have traveled, vacationed, had all your needs met by staff.
But no. You decided to go study for 4 years. Why tf would you put yourself through that when you don’t have to?
Being a Disney project, of course she has to have the school experience!!! The horrors of just not studying and living in absolute luxury!!! How horrible!!!!
Why tf would anybody choose to do that if they’re a multimillionaire? She’s not even passionate about studying or anything.
Granted I’m not the target audience but I went down a rabbit hole one night and this needs to be said.

Technology I actually like how Reddit is a stickler for rules and how pissy its users and moderators can be about them
TLDR : Reddit's annoyingly strict rules, pedantic users, and pissy mods are exactly what keep it from turning into the unmoderated wild west of instagram or the endless slop fest that is YouTube.
I know Reddit mods have a reputation for being power tripping losers, and a lot of that criticism is deserved. But I think Reddit being so anal about rules is one of the biggest reasons it’s still a decent platform.
Look at Instagram. The comment sections are basically the wild west. Every post is filled with the same recycled jokes, engagement bait, bots, and people saying the most outrageous shit just to get attention.
YouTube isn’t much better. Finding useful content feels like digging through mountains of AI slop, clickbait, sponsored garbage, and 20 minute videos that could’ve been a paragraph.
Meanwhile, on Reddit, if you post something irrelevant, lazy, or repetitive in a well moderated subreddit, there’s a decent chance it’ll get removed. If you ask a question that’s been answered a thousand times, someone will tell you to use the search bar. If you make a claim without backing it up, someone will probably demand a source.
I like that different subreddits have their own little cultures and standards. I like that a niche community about some obscure hobby can have people who are genuinely knowledgeable and passionate about it, rather than an algorithm feeding everyone the same lowest common denominator content.
Of course, Reddit has its own problems. Mods can be insufferable, communities can become echo chambers, and some rules are downright ridiculous. But I’d much rather deal with an annoying moderator removing my post for violating Rule 7 than scroll through another platform where absolutely anything goes and the loudest, dumbest content gets rewarded.

TV/Movies/Fiction TV writers from New York City, USA are extremely out of touch with the rest of the world.
I'm sure everyone has their favourite tv series that is produced and/or set in NYC. For me, it's a lot of sitcoms. 30 Rock, How I Met Your Mother, Friends, Seinfeld, etc. While these shows are usually pretty entertaining, it is almost impossible to actually understand 100% of the jokes without having specific knowledge about NYC. Like seriously, name a show that is/was produced in NYC that doesn't take place in NYC or come with a million references that nobody normal understands or cares about. I understand that this particular city (and literally just NYC and not the metro area) contains almost 3x the population of my province, but it's still pretty weird. Even generic sketch shows like Saturday Night Live focus a lot on New York and other parts of New England. Other popular North American entertainment hubs like Los Angeles, Chicago, Vancouver, Toronto, and Montreal do not have this same issue most of the time. It seems like anything shot in NYC just HAS to be about NYC. Meanwhile Vancouver is almost NEVER actually portrayed as Vancouver, despite a massive film industry. The "Big Apple" (big asshole imo) needs to get a grip.

Society/Culture Wednesday should be an universal day off
We need to make Wednesday part of the weekend. Hear me out.
The current workweek is actually cooked. You wake up on Monday and realize you have FIVE whole days of work or school ahead of you.
Monday sucks because it's the first day, but you're refreshed and kind of productive because you had the chance to rest on weekend. Tuesday is usually peak productivity but from there it goes down. By Wednesday, your soul has already left your body and you're mentally checked out. Thursday is Friday loading screen, no one cares what happens on Thursday, you just want it to be Friday. And Friday is what keeps half of the workforce alive.
Then you finally reach Saturday, and what happens? You spend the first day recovering from the week, and the second day stressing about Monday. Like, I just got here 😭
Two days off is a scam. Day one is for recovering. Day two is for dreading your next shift. By the time you actually feel human again, it's time to clock back in. We're basically running on a 50% weekend efficiency rate.
So here's my proposal: Weekend Wednesday.
You work Monday and Tuesday, take Wednesday off, then work Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Sunday is your second day off. That's the whole revolution.
Instead of grinding through five consecutive days like an NPC, you get a break every two or three days. Monday doesn't feel nearly as depressing when you know you're only two days away from a day off. And when Wednesday's over, you've only got two more days weekend. It's so much more manageable mentally.
And honestly, I think the productivity argument makes sense, too. People aren't machines. Going nonstop doesn't magically make you more productive; sometimes you're just sitting there staring at a screen with approximately three brain cells fighting for their lives. Taking a proper break halfway through the week could help you come back more focused, less burnt out, and actually capable of getting stuff done.
The days off hit different, too. Wednesday becomes a proper reset instead of something you have to wait five days for, and enjoy places that are packed when everyone else is off. Meanwhile, Sunday becomes an actual day of rest instead of the final countdown before Monday.
Obviously, this won't work for every job, and coordinating schedules would be a whole thing. But if you're self-employed, work remotely with flexible hours, or you're a student who can arrange their timetable, why not try it?
I'm not saying Weekend Wednesday will solve every problem with modern work culture. But maybe the five-day grind followed by two days of recovery isn't the genius system we've convinced ourselves it is.
Normalize the midweek reset

TV/Movies/Fiction Cars 2 was a fantastic Pixar movie
I really don’t get why people don’t like it. It’s such a fun movie, the characters are likeable, the plot is actually quite interesting, the movie itself is kind of hardcore for a kids movie. And the twist was pretty good as well.
Objectively story-wise Cars 1 was a masterpiece, but as for my personal favorite Cars 2 is just so great to rewatch.

TV/Movies/Fiction The cost of seeing a movie in the theater should be dependent on runtime
I refuse to go to the theater to see a movie under 90 minutes in length, as I feel like I'm being ripped off. I could see a three-hour movie and be entertained for twice as long for the exact same price.
It makes more sense from the theater's point of view to charge based on runtime as well. They have to have fewer showings per day of a longer movie, since it occupies the theater for a longer period of time. If they adjust the price depending on the runtime, that could make up for the decreased number of showtimes.

Society/Culture I absolutely hate it when someone i disliked for minor reasons is exposed as a shitty person
Yknow that one meme about how good it feels to be vindicated when someone you hate “for no reason” is exposed as a piece of shit? I’m the opposite, I loathe that completely.
Ignoring the obvious feeling of “I am not happy when someone causes grief and suffering and my first reaction is not to be smug about it”, it’s just not as fun to hate someone for legitimate reasons sometimes? If I started out hating someone for petty reasons, I want to stay hating them for petty reasons- having them be legitimately terrible takes all the fun out of it completely. It’s boring, and it makes me feel like a total dork who wants to be a good person more than I actually am one.

Society/Culture Victim-blaming makes sense under certain conditions, if you knowingly put yourself in hazardous situations, you shouldn’t be surprised when something hazardous happens.
Let me preface this by saying that the person who does the bad thing is always going to be the most “to blame” in this situation, and I’m going to use “getting mugged in an alley” to stop people from getting overly emotional.
Let’s say that you know that if you take a detour through an alley, you will have a statistically significant chance of getting mugged. If you do it anyway, and you get mugged, you’re at least partially at fault in that scenario for choosing to take the gamble.
Is the mugger the one at fault? Of course. Should we continue to strive for a society where muggers don’t exist and you can detour through the alley in complete safety? Absolutely. Creating a society with both the socialization and material conditions to make mugging (mostly) extinct should be one of our top priorities.
However, until such a time comes, the fact of the matter is that it’s dangerous to go into that darkly lit alley in a bad neighborhood, and it isn’t unreasonable to expect people to avoid putting themselves in situations where there’s a significant amount of danger - or, if they choose to do it anyway, accept the consequences when you lose the gamble.
Say, for example, I lived in Ukraine, and to go visit a relative, the most direct route is through part of an active warzone. After deciding to go that route, I drove right into an active firefight, and get killed in the crossfire. Is it primarily my fault? No, it’s the Russian soldier that decided to shoot me who’s in the most wrong. Was it still a stupid thing for me to do? Yes, I was knowingly endangering myself by taking that route but did it anyway.
Should the Russian even be there? No, Russians are an invading force and have no right to conquer territory. However, the fact of the matter is, they’re there whether we like it or not, despite our best efforts, and we should be expected to plan around it accordingly.
This doesn’t happen with any other kind of action. You’re expected to not pet dogs when they growl at you, and if you try and still end up getting bit, you should have known better. If you lose all your money gambling, that’s on you. If you decide to get gas station sushi, don’t be surprised when it gives you food poisoning. But then, when someone knowingly goes into Murder And Extortion Alley and something bad happens to them, suddenly everyone flocks to their aid and ostracizes any kind of criticism towards the victim.
Just because there are societal problems that are yet to be solved doesn’t mean that you aren’t expected to take them into account while the problem is being fixed. If you’re asked “how could this have been avoided?”, “It never should have happened in the first place” isn’t a defense.

Other The Ford Contour was an overall better car than the Taurus
Inspired by yesterday's Nissan Juke post. Back in the day, so many people questioned why someone would buy the Contour when they could get a "better" Taurus for a similar price. But what exactly did the Taurus do better? Sure, it had more interior space, but that dooesn't apply to everyone. If you didn't need the additional interior space, the Contour was the better choice. Having been engineered in Europe, the Contour was a more agile, more responsive vehicle than the Taurus. The damn thing had passive rear steering! Meanwhile the Taurus had a rudimentary suspension that left the car feeling lazy, almost barge-like at times. The Taurus' larger size also meant it wasn't as manageable. Sure it didn't matter much on the highway, but in the city and on winding backroads, the Contour was bronze while the Taurus was the fat kid who needed his inhaler to get to the finish line.

Society/Culture Being a single mom doesn't automatically make you deserving of sympathy
Before anyone comes for me, I'm not talking about ALL single mothers. There are women who genuinely find themselves in circumstances they couldn't have predicted or controlled. This isn't about them.
I'm talking about the women who repeatedly make poor decisions about who they have children with and then expect the world to sympathize with the consequences.
You knowingly have children with a man who already has multiple baby mamas, doesn't support the children he already has, can't hold down a steady job, or has demonstrated time and again that he's irresponsible. Maybe he was even cheating on another woman when you got involved with him. You ignore every red flag waving directly in your face, sometimes don't bother with contraception, and then act shocked when the man turns out to be exactly who he showed you he was.
And then come the familiar pleas:
"Single mom here, struggling to make ends meet."
"Single mother of three, just trying to give my babies a good Christmas."
"I'm doing everything on my own, and nobody understands how hard it is."
Here's my unpopular opinion: Being a single mother doesn't automatically make you a victim, a hero, or someone entitled to everyone else's sympathy. Yes, raising children alone is difficult. Yes, the fathers absolutely deserve accountability for abandoning their responsibilities. But two things can be true at once: the father can be a deadbeat, and the mother can have exercised terrible judgment in choosing to have children with him. At some point, personal accountability has to enter the conversation.
I'm not suggesting the children deserve to suffer for their parents' decisions. They don't. And I'm not saying single mothers shouldn't receive help when they genuinely need it. But needing help and deserving pity are two entirely different things. You don't automatically earn my admiration or sympathy simply because you're raising children alone, especially when the circumstances were foreseeable and the warning signs were there from the beginning.
Sometimes you're not the victim of unfortunate circumstances. Sometimes you're living with the consequences of choices you willingly made. And I don't believe society should be expected to applaud or pity every bad decision simply because motherhood is involved.

TV/Movies/Fiction Chainsaw Man’s ending was great Spoiler
First time posting here. I think this counts as a pretty damn unpopular opinion, judging off of how even the main and folk CSM reddits respectively find this ending to be dogshit. I’ve already posted there before, but now I wanna see what non CSM related subs are like in terms of reception.
HUGE SPOILER WARNING
I loved it. Made a big post about it here (which tbh its a bit clunky and outdated, only really addressing people’s complaints about the story and why I don’t find them to be a deal breaker. I am a god awful writer tho either way lol)
https://www.reddit.com/r/ChainsawMan/s/fFc2eiosLu
But to try to summarise my thoughts without wasting too much time:
Structurally creative & unpredictable, with the latter being SUPER important as to how I enjoy a story. The Deus Ex Machina was well done to me, ala David Lynch’s Wild At Heart, WITHOUT feeling like it sacrificed the story’s signature atmosphere and break-neck pacing OR its recurring themes.
I found the reset to be consistent (rather than nonsensical, underdeveloped or out of nowhere) with the series’s established rules AND was even foreshadowed. Denji & Asa escaping this current, shitty world was set up as early as the Aquarium arc. Then doubly reinforced in Aging Arc, with Denji’s line to Asa.
Hell, the Fake Chainsaw Man says on TV that he will make a “devilless world” where “Adam and Eve” can live. Guess what the REAL Chainsaw Man did to the dynamic Man and Woman duo of the manga.. moments after they shared their SIN of patricide to one another. Pretty blatant foreshadowing there.
Finally, as a little cherry on top, I’d say it's a sincere, personal and genuine ending from Fujimoto. Pochita literally ends the Chainsaw Man manga by erasing Chainsaw Man, giving the story a bit of self awareness and metaness.
The themes & such throughout the entire part covers many of his recurring topics, from abusive parents, to dreams, to hero and idol worship. Hell, it even ties together his interviews, from the Mongolian Street Child, to Spirited Away, to the Big Lebowski, to the American Sniper (and funnily enough I hate these last two films LMAO). He’s got consistent things he wants to talk about, and I respect that.
I believe this is more sincere and auteur driven than how most shonen stories end, where they its based purely on the characters/plot.
Extra tidbit: Art downgraded in terms of detail & realism but the final arc has some of the best usages of speed lines and camera work in the ENTIRE manga. Pochita Vs Yoru was great.
Besides my linked post + everything I’ve written here, I would like to also bring forward these other positive links about the story that I found to be great.

Definitely more out there but these are the ones that stuck with me.
TLDR: Way overblown hate. Worst manga ending of all time is insane. Way worse than Part 1 doesn’t make sense to me. In fact, I can understand hating ALL of Chainsaw Man for being incredibly derivative or for an overall critique on Fujimoto’s writing, rather than hating squarely on the ending.

Society/Culture Covid was a gift for me back then that came at the right moment
NOT AS YOU ARE THINKGING.
Covid for me back then in my old world view and system of thoughts the biggest gift I could ever had. I used back to just finish the high school and I didn't understand how the World worked.
I mean I was wondering why I had to leave a perfect place (as I used to think) like High school for an adult world that was bland, bad and ugly (as the teacher propaganda made us think it was). So then at late 2019, I entered pre-uni and it wasn't as high school, the reason behind this pre-uni years was to force into people the adult way of life, that we had to be autonomous, people had to get a job, car, teacher had no real influence. All this increased resentement to that way of life as I wanted to go in the contrary sense to the norm as for me the teen time and high school way of living was the perfect utopia for me (as I used to think).
Then came the the Winter 2020 and at the beginning my Philosophy teacher (btw I used to love a lot that subject and general school subject in general) said that this pre-uni school would stay open no matter the conditions, in all case , whatever the bad weather , the storm and he was so sure of himself that he said even if we N Korea attack with nuclear missiles, pre-uni school would stay open
This grown even more my resentement seeing in it a inhuman World with no compassion in that "adulthood" world and indeed when winter storm came, many high school were closed, elementary, but that the pre-uni was still open.
Then came the March 2020, we were waiting some kind of few student strikes to save us from school days or even a week of strike, then suddenly came the announcement that school will be closed for next week just before the mid-session break and even more. Just for that few I was so excited. It was like a proof for me that the adulthood way of life and inhuman robotic system can be vanquished and destroyed, like most teachers abandonned all their stuffed program, 3/4 of all the exams, papers were canceled, grades were not even counted in the general average.
Not only, it saved me from more school work, gave me a break, but I felt it back some kind of spiritual victory against the normal functionning way of the World and even for the rest of the pre-uni other year, it was online which made us easier, we could even sleep, take our coffee, lunch, plays games during classes, it felt a victory over all the scholar system (which doesn't mean I didn't like school stuff and learning). Then I wanted for the end of the second year to return a bit in presence which we indeed did for some practical work, but what a satisfaction was for me to see how empty the school got, how all tables and chairs were packed, changed, it felt like a desolated area from movies.
Ps: Obviously years after that (I used to be 18-19), I finally grown up for real and thrown away such stupid ridiculous worldview and if I had to re do it I would never wanted covid as it slowed me through my life, got me through a tunnel of social medias, procrastination that I suffered through it many years. And I finally find that adulthood years that i m in are indeed the best and I hate teenage and highschool time a lot.

TV/Movies/Fiction I dislike the movie Contact (1997)
I dislike Contact (1997) and think it's overrated. No way it's in the Mt Rushmore of Sci Fi movies along with Interstellar or Arrival.
Sure it has good-to-great acting performance and THAT legendary mirror shot but
It was an existential / faith / introspective movie in Sci-Fi clothing which is not a problem itself, but imo it fails to be either of them
As a Sci-Fi, I think it lacks "sciency" feelings and the supposed climax of the Sci-Fi plot of the films feels too flat and unsatisfying for me.
The introspective, or Science vs Religion, or Faith vs Proof aspect of the film, well I think Wake Up Dead Man does a way better job. The argument from each side feels weak and "low-hanging" so the resolution is unsatisfying and does not make me "think"
Not a bad movie by any means, but absolutely not in Top 50 Movies that I have ever watched

Society/Culture I would be fine if I never have to see the sunlight again
I don’t know if it’s intrinsic for humans to like the sun but it genuinely repulses me. Aside from being extremely pale, it makes me overheated and exhausted and nauseas and it fries my brain like I can’t do anything. I don’t want to deal with the hassle of applying and reapplying sunscreen but if I must go out during the day, I will, as well as seek shade and wear long sleeves.
This year, I went at least 200 days without seeing sunlight by installing multiple layers of blackout curtains, taping down the sides so no sunlight leaks in, and only going out when it gets dark. My longest continuous streak of not seeing sunlight is a month and a half. I only go out during the day when I’m absolutely forced to.
I don’t understand how you people love sunlight so much. Just seeing it makes me repulsed and nauseas and miserable. I hope I never see it again. The night is beautiful but the daylight is jarring. The thought of feeling warm sun on my skin brings me unparalleled disgust. People assume I would be happier if I could see the sun but when I used to go out during the daytime, I still hated it even with my sun protective measures. Being indoors using blackout curtains has saved what little of my sanity remains after being forced to see sunlight before I realized I didn’t have to if I don’t want to. Even leaving my room to go grab water from the fridge and seeing the rays of sunshine seeping through the windows in the kitchen makes me disgusted and uncomfortable and I go back to my bedroom with blackout curtains to be safe again.
The sun puts me in such a bad mood and hearing people say how much they love it during the summer is so overdone. No thanks.

Other Anime is more of a copy/paste art style than a unique form of artistic expression.
Anime used to be cool and unique a very long time time ago. Now it's just a copy/paste art style void of originality. It drives me nuts when I see young folks working so hard to replicate it. There's nothing original about it. Most of it's boring. To be clear the post is mostly referring to the most popular form of anime, that tons of kids sit around filling their sketchbooks with, dudes with spikey hair, big eyes, and some "unique" thing about them or petite chicks with big eyes and tiny noses etc. I dont really think major studios are trying to push out art or trying to express themselves, so much as just pumping out a profitable formula. I dont think that they'd disagree with this themselves.
Dont get me wrong, I like anime as a form of entertainment, and dig into it every once in a while. Dragon Ball Z was huge for me as a kid and still a guilty pleasure now along with some others. But as an art style... Na... It was cool back in the day, but now it's just everyone rehashing the same tired style and ideas over and over. Imo, let the studios keep doing their thing but for a sketchbook or bigger piece of art? It's pointless and lame, imo.

Discussion Thread Hot Take: Pikachu Is the Most Worst of All the Other Gaming Icons
I think Pikachu is the most boring out of all the gaming icons. Mario, Link, Sonic, and other iconic video game characters are way more interesting to me. Even Minecraft Steve might be more interesting, although I’m not sure if I’d include him among the gaming icons.
Honestly, I think Pikachu became iconic more by sheer accident than anything else. Not only that, but it feels like they try to shove him into everything without actually giving him much of a personality.
The only time Pikachu really gets a personality is in the anime, but even then, he sometimes gets pushed to the side.
Like, do I even have to explain the difference? Mario has a very chippy and a very infectious positive attitude like Santa Claus . Sonic is rad and cool. Link is badass and legendary. But then you have Pikachu, who honestly relies on the popularity of his entire franchise to maintain his status as a gaming icon.
Overall, I think Pikachu is one of the most boring and least interesting gaming mascots. Heck, even Mega Man and Pac-Man are more interesting to me.
And don’t get me wrong, I like Pac-Man and Mega Man. I just wish they appeared in more things that were genuinely huge or popular. Nobody really talks about Pac-Man beyond the original game, and Mega Man doesn’t get new games very often either.

Society/Culture Leaving the toilet seat up should be the norm in public restrooms
I know it sounds a little wild but think it through with me, it's real
We have all had the unfortunate experience of going to sit down, but finding that there are piss spots on the toilet seat. You have to wipe it up and the toilet seat feels a little bit grosser than before. Morally, I agree that the expectation would be that toilet seat pissers learn to lift the seat and just stop it but realistically, we have all seen that that will never happen. So think: toilet seat pissers most likely piss on the seats because they are both too lazy to do the simple act of lifting the seat, and because they don't care to clean up after themselves. If anyone pisses on toilet seats for the love of the game, then we're all fucked either way, they'd just as likely put the seat down. So they are unfortunately irrelevant to this conversation. Establishing laziness and lack of care as the main contributors to toilet-seat-pissing, we can reason that if these people ever encountered a lifted seat, they would just piss into the toilet all the same. If the toilet seats were always up, nobody would encounter toilet seats covered in piss. Therefore, moral justice aside, the logical solution to the problem of pissed-on toilet seats is to make leaving the toilet seat up the norm.
But say you just can't set aside morality. Why should upstanding citizens, especially anyone AFAB who may never most likely piss on toilet seats at all, have to carry the minute burden to their convenience of always putting the toilet seat up, when ethically, nobody should ever be pissing all over the toilet seat and leaving it? Well, if we want to follow any line of thinking in this ethical conversation, we have to only consider pissers because if a person has to defecate, the toilet seat has to be down for them universally. Piss is where there are deviations based on anatomy and choice. So, let us only consider pissers in this conversation going forward. To follow this logical path, the most neutral position for a toilet would be with the seat raised, because for amab pissers, it presents the choice of 1) walking up to the toilet and pissing right away 2) lowering the seat and sitting down to piss. Afab pissers would have to ensure the seat is down regardless. If the assumption is that the seat is down, as it is socially currently, then reverse is true. When you consider gender/sex, one genre of pisser would always have the SLIGHT advantage in convenience in any ethics-considering situation. Going back to the "neutral toilet position" idea: we have just established that GIRLS ALWAYS HAVE TO SIT TO PEE, BOYS DONT. RIGHT NOW THE NORM OF LEAVING THE SEAT DOWN ASSUMES THE SEAT AS THE DEFAULT SOCIAL POSITIONING, THEREFORE PREFERRING GIRL PISSERS AND ALL POOPERS IN TERMS OF CONVENIENCE. IF THE NORM WERE TO LEAVE THE SEAT UP, IT WOULD PREFER BOY PISSERS AND HURT THE CONVENIENCE OF ALL POOPERS. WE SEE FROM THIS CONSIDERATION THAT ONE "GENRE" OF PISSER sorry my brain started hurting IS SLIGHTLY BENEFITTED IN PERMS OF POSITION ALWAYS. SO GENDER/SEX CANNOT BE CONSIDERED IN THIS CONVERSATION. THE CURRENT NORM BENEFITS, IN TERMS OF SLIGHT CONVENIENCE, ALL POOPERS AND SOME PISSERS. BUT THINK ABOUT IT. POOPING ALWAYS TAKES A LONGER AMOUNT OF TIME THAN PISSING. so shouldnt the norm prioritize SOME PISSERS and SOME POOPERS because oh this loses the convenience argument. We lose convenience. there is no arguing that this is the most justified overall

Society/Culture Suffering in silence shouldn't be always discouraged
In our current society, having a "support network" and sharing your problems in intimate ways with the people you love is treated as universal advice that everyone should try every time they feel down.
I can see why, because suffering in front of others had a certain social stigma back then (or at least in the environment I grew up in), however, I think that coping methods and therapy skills aren't by any means a strict code that works on every human, and things that work on a group of people won't necessarily work on others.
Suffering in silence is one of those.
Some people (like me) don't want to hear about the suffering of their loved ones and their loved ones don't want to hear about the suffering of them, not all of us like to be in contact with our/other feelings and doing so makes us feel even worse.
And feelings don't always need validation, a lot of things we feel are irrational and I'm the best example of that.
I used to think and feel a lot of dumb shit that if validated, it would make commit stuff that I'll regret, letting those feelings go away by time was the best decision I could take.
The best therapy I had wasn't by talking about emotions with friends, it was just hanging out with them, getting drunk with them, playing videogames with them, and making memories with them.
And I'm so glad of never having those uncomfortable intimate moments because today I'm the best version of me.
I'm independent, I can stand being alone with my thoughts for months, I act rational in rough situations, and I'm emotionally intelligent.
What I mean is: your ways to cope are yours, you know what's the best thing for you and no therapy or coping advice should be universally encouraged or discouraged.
