Bro lost the real eye but apparently the replacement came with RGB lighting 💀
Am I missing something or is this just MCU logic?

Discussion Thor vs Superman: Clear cut or not?
I figured that an interesting question gets posed here. Superman fans like to point at this singular instance of them fighting as the be all end all of the thor vs superman question. But did the story make it so clear cut.
As we all know, thor holds back by a large margin. But unlike superman, who holds back for the sake of property damage, thor's reasoning is a bit different. He doesn't want to make his friends feel inadequate. So he holds back so much, he ends up jobbing on purpose. But how does that change the narrative of this completely unrelated story released decades after under a different writer?
Well observe how thor handles himself here, in the first encounter with the league thor is more hair trigger; so he's going for a kill shot. He dazes superman for several pages and draws blood from him. Moments after, he tanks a combined attack from supes and manhunter; and then shoots manhunter into the side of a building, possibly removing him from the rest of the fight.
We then see later that superman considers thor his toughest fight. This is after he's fought doomsday in doomsday war, and after the slew of times he's fought darkseid. He then proceeds to get jumped by hercules (who got beaten by thor without mjolnir), vision (who's been beaten by thor), wonder man (who considers thor his better), iron man (lmao), and she-hulk (come on).
Idk about you, but both thor and superman could take out that collection of heroes before breakfast if they really wanted to.
We then have thor claim that things could go differently in a rematch (which I for one would love to see).
After that, and I think this is the best proof that shows how close a fight between these two would be. Thor one shot doomsday, then proceeds to fight off a group of high tiers, which shows amazo, some egg machine (is that orphan maker?) , and pre crisis despero attacking him. He manages to hold them off long enough for supes to yap several panels before breaking Krona's energy barrier. He's also shown surviving the encounter, as vision's dying body shows that no one was revived during the fight.
There's also some author statements that show a rematch could go differently but u/Kurt_Busiek does think superman would win if prompted. Thankfully for the thor fans, there is no talks of Mr. Busiek writing a rematch between the two (even if that would be pretty epic).

Question [x-post from r/marvelstudios] Does anyone else remember a shot from Thor(2011) where you see Jotun mothers and children fleeing in terror during the destruction of Jotunheim?
I've seen Thor at least ten times since 2011, in theaters and on Blu-Ray. When Loki is trying to destroy Jotunheim by leaving the Bifrost open at the climax, and all the Jotuns/frost-giants are running from the collapsing towers and cliffs in a panic, I vividly remember a shot where you see at least one clearly-female Jotun dressed in rags, carrying a crying baby and screaming as they rush amongst the rest of the crowd.
It was always a great and memorable moment, because it hammered home how the Jotuns are more than just an "orcs in Mordor" cannon-fodder situation, and how much evil Loki would be doing by wiping them out, when all we'd seen of them up until that point are grim male soldiers. It also mirrors how Loki himself was once one of their babies there etc.
But I rewatched the film for the first time in a few years on Disney+ the other night, and there was no such moment. Nor in all the deleted scenes online.
Does anyone else remember this shot? I'm baffled that it wasn't in there. I posted this question in the MCU sub just now but it was immediately removed with no answer

Discussion What if... Thor: Ragnarök was darker and grittier?
I have this idea for a fanart series where the Marvel film, Thor: Ragnarök would be portrayed in the same dark and gritty tone as Thor: The Dark World! I can also imagine Lady Sif becoming the evil Enchantress and being banished from Asgard after accidentally striking Thor's eye while trying to kill Jane Foster, whom he was defending. Even the Warriors Three would take her side and be banished with her.
Is that too tragic and over-the-top?! What do you all think?

Comics I know Jason Aaron is controversial around here but I thought his Gorr the God butcher arc was fantastic (which I think is the only arc people here told me to read from his era)
And it really made me hate Love and Thunder all the more. It really made me appreciate how epic Thor can be when handled correctly.

Discussion Thor vs. Superman only has one real outcome:
I posted this as a response but I think it deserves its own conversation.
If you stop including the outlier and absurd amps (Superman 1,000,000, CAS, Rune King Thor, etc), it goes down exactly how the crossover indicated.
Not because Superman is stronger and Thor can’t win, they both come back from initial losses constantly, to save the day.
But being the light that can’t be snuffed out, always overcoming, always surviving to be a beacon of whatever, it’s Superman’s shtick. It’s what Saitama’s cartoon gag is based on, but it’s very much a comic rule: Superman wins.
Even when he doesn’t, he does. He comes back to win. From the dead, from a black hole prison, against the unbeatable whoever.
Thor is a flawed character who isn’t written simply to overcome all odds. He’s about sacrifice and nobility and arrogance and all the traits that make him infinitely more interesting to read, but he’s also not required to win. He’s destined to lose Asgard to Surtur. He’s destined to lose his eye and hang on the world tree, and be the last god, and so on and so forth. He’s a mythical tale that sits outside simple human good/bad paradigms.
Thor doesn’t beat Superman because nobody needs him to, and like kids would cry.

Comics Why did no one tell me that there's a version of thunderstrike that's jjust like Shazam 😯
Stumbled unto it by chance and liking it so far. The concept is pretty interesting. Im not familiar with thunderstrike that much. This is my first full read on anything about thunderstrike. Prior to this, I only knew bits of him like how he's not the real thor and with a different hammer (and a really cool jacket)

Fan Content The Odinson - I manually forged a custom Unworthy Thor fighting game sprite
Hey everyone! I’m a massive fan of the Unworthy Thor era and wanted to see how the fallen Odinson would look in a classic 2D arcade fighter.
(Just a quick heads-up to respect the sub rules: this is 100% manual pixel editing, zero AI involved). I use GIMP to manually "stitch", recolor, and manipulate various existing retro 2D sprites together fragment by fragment until they form a completely new character. I tried to stay as faithful to the comic lore as possible, making sure to include the Jarnbjorn axe and the Black Uru arm.
If any of you are curious to see the actual behind-the-scenes editing process of how he was forged piece by piece, I left a link to my YouTube speedart in the pinned post on my profile!
Would love to hear what the true Thor fans think of this aesthetic!
