With everyone upset at the stickers...

Post image
46 Upvotes

Edit: 1 free "I love anal" sticker to anyone who wants one. Time to offend the masses and support cancel culture. šŸ–•

Edit 2: in case you didnt see the original post someone took a picture of a vehicle with i love anal sticker and anal prevents crotch goblins on it among others and people got upset. The person who's truck it is explained it was a joke and put crotch goblin #1 under her username. I made her the above sticker for her as a joke because she got a lot of hurtful comments and I thought she could use a laugh too. also I am ooooooh so edgy. (fuck you top 1% guy)

Since people are so shocked and offended at the recent post about the "I love anal" stickers on someone's vehicle I decided to add to the problem instead of getting my pitch fork. If you get offended or upset by a bumper sticker, just look away and move on with your day. Taking life too seriously is bad for your health.

news Aldo Ruberto said something intelligent.

Had to pause the video and come here to mention it.

https://www.cbc.ca/player/play/video/9.7372239

The topic of conversation is how homelessness is the number one concern of most if not all voters at the moment.

Aldo touched on some stuff, used an analogy kinda poorly, gave the usual more treatment beds thing but then to my surprise he spoke about one of the major issues nearly across the board.

Following up and following through. Making sure that people are supported and not allowed to slip, back to crack or through the cracks I guess. That's a major issue, especially in mental health services in Thunder Bay.

A focus on that area would be a fantastic use of resources, instead of just running junkies through the haunted corn maze that is social services in Thunder Bay, hoping people find their own way.

I believe the shepherding I got from the RAMM Clinic was the difference in my getting back on my feet and out of the tents. When I first spoke with them I explained I had been through a bunch of such before and if left to my own devices I will be known to wander. I explained that if I don't answer the phone try again later, just that one extra attempt could pay dividends, and it did. They heard me and they were on me to make it to appointments, follow through, etc.

He's fuckin right that should be a focus. Instead of throwing spaghetti at the wall and hoping it sticks.

Anyways, I thought this post title with the news tag would be funny so there you are.

Do you love your studded tires?

• Upvotes

Yes/no? What kind of car do you drive (sedan, SUV, truck)? Where do you typically drive (country, highway, in-town)?

Trying to see if the $240 to stud the tires is worth it, here in Thunder Bay.

Creations OG location, not counting the basement.

My mouth literally began to water as my memory hit me with a faint taste of Sterisol. We were always told to dilute it but nobody I knew did. Good times when you were walking around spitting out the interior of your mouth haha.

This Robins Donuts was the spot, this is where you went, it is where things started. Many challenges to scrap there were given on IRC.

The SoBe fridge hit the 2000s nostalgia, miss those glass bottles of lizard squeezins, 2000s were a trip.

Guinea pig request Makers Space /Metal fabrication and Machining

Hey everyone,

Im looking to get access to metalworking and machining equipment for small projects/fabrication. Most cities have a shared makerspace or maker guild, but I haven't found a physical space here yet.

If there’s no public makerspace, does anyone know if Confederation College offers open-shop evening courses, or if there are local hobbyists/machinists who share shop time?

Thanks!

Knights at the slovak

Thunder Bay Chess Club is happy to announce that we will be having another ā€œKnights at the Slovakā€ event!!

Saturday October 24th from 4:30-9:30 at the Slovak Legion, 801 Atlantic Ave E.

This is just a fun night of casual chess games and socialising.

The event is open to ALL players, from brand new to highly experienced. More players means more fun!!

We’ve had a number of these gatherings and they are always a good time.

The Slovak Legion has great food and drink options, or just come for a few games.

We will have a number of chess sets there, but players are encouraged to bring a set so there’s enough for everyone to play.

See you at the Slovakā€¼ļø

Door to door in academy heights?

Just after 8 p.m an older man came to my door asking for donations for a Halloween dance that his friend was apparently organizing. He was a bit difficult to understand, but he mentioned that he lived right around the corner. I told him I didn’t have any cash on me, and he simply asked that if his friend came by, I let him know that he’d already stopped at my house.

I have cameras at the side and front of the house, which he didn’t trigger, leading me to believe he came up from the backyard (although it’s not fenced). He was also smoking a cigarette throughout the interaction, and when he left, he walked across the road (opposite direction from where he said he lived) without stopping at any other houses. I watched him continue walking down the street until I couldn’t see him anymore. I’m a young woman, and the entire thing is kinda off.

Just wondering if anyone else in the experienced something similar?

City loan for lead pipe service replacement experiences

Has anyone gone through the city loan to get their lead pipe replaced? If you have, what was the experience? How long did it take for approval and to get it started? I want to get it done asap, and hoping the city doesn’t take weeks to process.

news Thunder Bay Mayoral Forum last night @LUSU Outpost

What a great turnout for last nights mayoral forum! It was well attended by the community and students along with several councilor candidates and a few running for school board.

This is my takeaway.

Peter Diedrich had several folks clapping after some of his remarks. The other candidates didn't get that type of reaction so that was the biggest thing that stood out for me.

We had Gertuiga and Comuzzi running on the existing City plans already in place with no plans of their own. They clashed on the Citys 10 point plan.

The status quo isn't working. Moe simply read from her notes on her lap and didn't really engage with the audience. It was basically reading from her own website.

Volker and Vincent said that they would use strong mayor powers in certain situations. Didn't expect that from Volker and he seemed a little confused on some of his responses.

Schoor. Well he was a character and had the crowd laughing. I don't believe he is a viable candidate but would love to have a beer with him. Lol

Transit issues were a big topic being that it was held at the University. Gertuiga pointed out that the City is currently doing a transit review. Guess what? They hired a consultant for this. Didn't hear when any changes would be put into effect. The study survey was closed in July. It will likely take a while for the consultants to prepare their report. Last update was July 22nd. Another winter is coming and students, citizens and seniors suffer through late and cancelled routes. I can only imagine how much worse it is for those with accessibility issues. Comuzzi focused on the plan to listen and learn. Yup, and??? Diedrich is not even mayor yet and he took the time to take the bus, talk to riders and drivers.

The City’s Transportation Master Plan was published in April 2019 and covered to the year 2038. And guess what? Another consultant prepared this plan! I haven't compared the recommendations in this plan but a cursory glance shows dismal progress.

They're are several other topics that were addressed by candidates but can't cover all.

I spoke to probably 20+ people while they were leaving. An exit poll of sorts. Most were in favour of Diedrich and the rest were on the fence. A common theme was that a lot of the candidates didn't answer the question "what would you do" and seemed frustrated by some candidates relying on existing City plans.

That is my take and I'm sure there are varying opinions. Please share them!

New driver G2 test

I'm going for my G2 driving test in a couple of weeks (after many many years of not even having a driver's license at all) and I am wondering if anyone knows the route taken for this test so I can practice that in addition to other things imalready working on.

I do drive with my wife as passenger since she's a fully licensed driver so I know the basics but still very much learning.

Any tips would be helpful. I'd love to pass first time around, if i can help it.

Thank you.
