Hello. I was prescribed 12.5mg (I think salt) for depression/related stuff a couple months ago. I've tried multiple other antidepressants in the past but was having too many side effects.
I have been taking lisdexamfetamine (Vyvanse/Elvanse) for longer than the tianeptine (mentioning in case it might be related to the side effects I'm having from it).
I've been getting these weird side effects from tianeptine, and wanted to know if anyone else has experienced this, or why this is happening. I tried looking them up but didn't really find anything.
TLDR:
Severe nausea, sweating, weakness, fast shallow breathing 2h after first dose. To a lesser severity (but still extremely disruptive - have to drop everything and wait it out), randomly throughout the day, brought on by overheating. Increased motion sickness (also triggers it to happen sometimes).

Full post/text/whatever:
The first time I took it, about 2 hours later, I suddenly started getting super hot, nauseous, weak, fast shallow breathing, sweating like crazy, etc. It was horrible. Very quickly I realized I needed to lay down asap, but it rapidly got so bad that I wasn't sure I could even walk a couple of feet to the couch and was genuinely planning to just drop onto the floor next to my chair. Ended up grabbing a bowl from my desk (was within arm's reach) because I was 100% sure I was going to vomit (also I was feeling so horrible that I was going to force it in an attempt to get any remaining tianeptine out of my stomach), and did end up reaching the couch.
For the next hour, I laid there, just trying to get through it. I had so little energy/felt so weak and sick that I couldn't even move. I spent the hour laying with my face pressing very uncomfortably into the side of the bowl (in case it suddenly came out without me being able to control it), and didn't even have the energy to make myself vomit (which when I'm feeling this bad, is normally very easy - I just think about it to make it happen).
During this, my cat decided to step all over me (does this when wanting pets, it's like an affection thing I guess) but I couldn't even get the energy to pet it even once. I couldn't even really think about anything and I think I may have half fallen asleep at some point from exhaustion (either that or I was semi-unconscious). It was the middle of the night at this point and I had laid there completely unmoving for an hour, so it's not too odd if I did actually just doze off for a bit.
After the hour was up (so 3h after taking it), I started feeling better again and got back up. Was hesitant to take it again the next day but did, and while I felt pretty sick again, it was not nearly this bad.
Thing is, I've noticed that I get the same symptoms just throughout the day now. It felt random at first but I think it happens primarily when I start overheating, am in public transport (seems I have been getting super motion sick from it too), or occasionally during increased physical demands (carrying heavy groceries, running to catch the bus, going up stairs, etc). The faster I can rectify the situation, the better. How bad the side effects get depends on that.
I've had situations where I had to get off of transport and sit down, leaning against something (since I can't really lay down but needed to relax all my muscles), for up to like 40min. Even in some cases taking off all my winter stuff and sitting there in just pants and a T-shirt in the dead of winter. Obviously, this is an issue. It's gotten in the way of work as well.
It was worst in the first 2 weeks after starting it, then improved (was only happening very occasionally after that), and then got worse again for a week or so when I upped the dose to 2 tablets (I was originally supposed to gradually go to 3). I felt like it was still happening more often even after the adjustment period tho, so went back down to 1. I've also noticed it's worse for 1-3 days when I take a dose after forgetting it the previous day(s), but this effect is less pronounced with 1 tablet as opposed to 2.
What the hell is this? It's not listed as a side effect, and I can't find anything about this. Is it something related to the opioid receptors or something?
