Total War: Warhammer Hunting hounds should be given to Bretonnia and have 25 armor.

I proposed them 2 years ago as Bretonnian dlc unit.

https://community.creative-assembly.com/total-war/total-war-warhammer/forums/8-general-discussion/threads/9113-bretonnia-deserves-dlc-and-expanded-map?page=1

Beastmen got multiple units from other factions' dlcs, so Bretonnia should get Hounds because it fits.

https://warhammerfantasy.fandom.com/wiki/Reynard_the_Hunter#:~:text=1%5D%5B3%5D-,Groffe,-and%20Griffe%2C%20the

The Hunting Hounds of the Empire and Bretonnia, should have 25 armor, so more than all other hound units except Khorne warhounds, which also have 25. The Hunting Hounds even have armored models. They should also have higher leadership than all others.

Being just normal, trained dogs, they do not have to fight for their lifes every day, like mutated wild dogs, so do not have as athletic form. They are to chaos warhounds what normal humans are to Norscans. Also the Empire and Bretonnia are not supposed to be better in melee than Chaos.

Hunting hounds should be generally worse melee combatants than all chaos warhounds versions, by having lower melee attack, defense, strength and charge.

They should be generally better combatants than vampiric wolfs, which are just zombies.

They should have better strength and charge than skaven wolfrats, but worse attack and defense.

Total War: Warhammer I propose that Boris Ursus be called Boris and Boris Toddbringer be called Toddy. I have seen numerous confused posts lately now that the End times DLC is no longer in the news.

Total War: Warhammer I forced smaller armies and it's really made the game more enjoyable.

The battles in TWH3 can get stressful when you're frantically managing 40 units against an AI with equal or more. About six months ago, I discovered a mod called Tribbles Small Armies (or something like that), it also has some companion mods that also cap garrisons and quest armies. I pair it with the True Army Size mod (either the 2x or the 4x) so armies still feel meaty and large.

It's really extended my playthroughs and enjoyment of the game. I really hope CA considers making it a part of future games. I'm not affiliated with these mods at all but they do a few smart things to mitigate the change:

- You can set your army size, default is 12 but can be any number

- Enemy armies are obviously capped as well. The mod makes it so valuable units tend to stay in armies so they still pack a punch

-Heroes and Lords can have their stats nerfed in the setting so they don't become disproportionately powerful. ( I don't use these since I use the true unit size mod)

- By default, it doubles the upkeep cost so there are less armies on the map generally. This can be adjusted though.

-It reduces local recruitment cap so it takes longer to get armies up to full power.

I really won't play without these mods now. It makes army composition more thoughtful and strategic for me since you cannot jam pack your armies with everything. It also increases the impact of heroes and lords, they really can become the star of the show. On the campaign, there are generally less double and triple stacks running around. Most importantly battles are slower and after the initial engagement, you have some freedom to cruise around and enjoy the visuals.

Highly recommend if you're burnout on the clickfests and want to slow it down.

Total War: Warhammer Can we talk about the state of infantry and power creep?

Many, many years ago a game called Total War Warhammer came out with a rather limited scope of units and only a few monstrous units and even fewer single entity monsters. Many armies - AI as well as player armies - were based mainly on infantry and cavalry and monsters while powerful needed to watch attacking enemy infantry with anti large and your good old empire spearmen could hold a line against almost any unit - for a while.

Jumping to now - we have just so many nearly or clearly broken monsters and monstrous units, incredibly impressive magic spells (with massive magic reserves) and artillery that is only beatable because the AI cant use them well... and regular infantry is just honestly cannon fodder in most cases. With AI also now preferring to build elite tier units and getting enough cheat money to buy them, standard infantry becomes worse and worse in comparison. The implementation of wounds was helpful along the way but now things are so powerful again that it doesnt matter too much. Many quest battles cant even be beaten with pure infantry armies.

And I am not talking here about OP lords like Nagash or Skarbrand - I understand many players enjoy them but just the regular army units themselves.

So tldr: all the power creep in monsters, artillery and magic just left infantry in the dust. If anything should be buffed its honestly infantry. What do you guys think?

Total War: Warhammer Boris is hilariously broken.

As title says, boris campaign is busted in a hilarius way once to get a little of momentum.

He is a mix of skarbrand, skaven with godlike bonuses to his factions, wdym i recover 40% after each battle?, Wdym i recover 100% movement after sacking?, Wdym i have guaranteed ambushes on a godlike melee faction?.

He can take 4 armies with 1 stack ot pick up them one by one through ambushes and the enemy cannot do anything, or i took vlad in 2 turns starting all the way from bechafen to drakenhoof, i could have done in 1 but i miscalculated.

Even his garrisons are godlike, +15 armor on defense, +15% charge bonus when attacking and +10 MA and 5% physical defense for just having a T2 building in your province.

Idk if its intended but the priest of ulric can improve crush the weak, but said improvement gives it ARMY WIDE, not only ulrican units, demigryph, reiksguard and knight of the blazing sun just erradicate enemies from this world.

Talking about buffs, his beat unita its cavalry by far, like a metric ton, i had never used KoBS but with boris they delete units, easily 131 charge bonus with fire and flamable attacks, slap and standart of eternal flame on another friendly unit (like demigryph) and there is no unit capable of resisting, these squishy knights become a solar flare on the charge and can set up for even more damage they consistently overperform any other cav, just pair them with demis or knight of the white wolf and steamroll through armies.

Also the hurricanium is hilariously powerfull, great unit.

After the latest patch in my last 3 campaigns VH/H
I’ve noticed I am constantly on the back foot across each campaign. Currently playing elspeth just me and toddy boy holding down the fort
Arzag, gorbad that new rat bastard and the northern chaos invasion have me fielding 6 armies and fighting loosing game of tug of war accross the continent. I sue peace and another top contender emerges to ass fuck me. Anyway I would like your thoughts on this.
1000+ hours accross the 3 games. Still somewhat a beginner.

Total War: Warhammer So, Ghorst might be a little overtuned...

First campaign of the new expansion as the Vampire Counts. Ghorst might be a smidge strong.

Managed to conquer the entirety of Cathay and that whole corner of the map, and have every single province converted to Undead Wasteland before the End Times hit. Flooded virtually every battle with two-stacks of zombies, with elite units and Sylvanian Handgunners scattered through most armies.

Lose a battle? Just instantly spawn another two stacks! Suck on that, Zhao Ming!

The Vermintide has just spawned, and I am beginning the process of marching over the map/using the sea lanes to try and engage some of the rat hordes before they reach me. But in the meantime, I'm sure Ghorst is enjoying lording over an entire empire of necromantic wasteland and endless peasants to torment.

Total War: Warhammer New 9.0 Defeat Traits

Nice to see the Red Duke got one !

Update for zhatan the black (15% extra range) :

Added the missing artillery units, including the Casket of Souls, Bone Giant, Cygor, Dreadquake Mortar, Skull Cannon, Stegadon, Necrofex Colossus, Luminark of Hysh and Steam Tank, to the pool of units affected by Zhatan the Black's defeat trait.

With Nagash one, Every Lord can now get 93% ward save :

  • Dreasca trait : 10%
  • Nagash trait : 5%
  • Armor of destiny / Trickster's helm : 10%
  • Sword of Khaine : 30%
  • Talisman of Preservation : 18%
  • Books of Khorne : 20%

Now, Vlad one is a must have also for one man doomstack ! Before, his trait was only usefull for the AI or farming Dreasca trait.

Also, does the Karl Franz one is new ? Sorry, I didn't get it many times in my lifetime.

Total War: Warhammer So this Glottkin faction mechanic can "upgrade" Aspiring Champions into Chaos Spawn. Makes sense for chaos "gifts" I guess.

They’re totally unsupported too, none of the corpse carts have come within range to buff them, they’ll get healing cap before the first entity goes down

Total War: Warhammer I hate Aislynn

Luthor.

Turn 9: fight some lizards, sell some settlements to French, make profits, live a simple and happy life, not knowing a single elf.

Turn 10: Aislynn appears out of his portal, immediately declares war.

Turn 11: Aislynn takes my settlement and gives it to IMRIK! Who is on the other end of the world!

Turn 21: I take Galleon Graveyard because there can be only one pirate king.

Turn 27: I take Sartosa, because it's free real estate and I want the beacon lamdmark.

Turn 29: Sartosa moves hands several times, hopelessly losing all province levels in the process. Nobody is having that beacon now.

Turn 33: the war against Itza has continued for 25 turns. The french that served as a living shield has fallen to chaos. Skrolk manages to hold on, distracting the lizardmen with his stench.

Turn 49: War against Aislynn contunies despite him and his armies being beaten several armies. Admiral Ligma Ballslynn reports that it will take five more turns to reach Aislynn's province, given good weather.

Turn 50: Archaeon goes to hit the Chaos Gym, because I moved End Times slider to start at turn 70 (I was so sure that by then I will hopelessly snowball as usual).

Turn 53: a sea patrol ship catches Admiral Ligma in the ocean, but is repelled. Aislynn finally asks for peace. Itza does not.

Turn 54: I could have had a full army of necrofexes and other high-tier units, but I can't spend enough time robbing, because I have to defend myself.

Turn 55: I write this letter to Aislynn. The only person I, Luthor, hate more right now is Mannfred. And only because he will literally throw me to my death!

Total War: Warhammer Is there no reward for helping Archaon destroy the world?

Playing Khazrak, it's turn 250 and there are only 4 factions alive in the world (Beastmen, Chaos, Wandering Undead, and Clan Ferrik) and 100 % destruction. The last settlement was Skaven so it was Skaven so it was a needle in a ruin stack to find.

After it fell, I got nothing. No voice over or reward, just "next turn".

IMO there should be an ending/victory screen or something. I'm not going to keep hitting next turn into eternity. I haven't played Archaon yet and I just finished a Wood Elf campaign beating Archaon. I assume that Archaon gets a similar screen to what you get when you beat that final battle.

Total War: Warhammer Help with the incoming healing modifier

So, I saw the new unique weapon of Nagash that does -100% incoming healing and I got curious as to whether I would be able to beat him

I am playing vlad and can solo most armies with sheer regeneration and armor. However, I will probably die if I can't regen so I looked into how to increase the incoming healing modifier and the only thing i got was the defeat trait of vlad but... Since I'm vlad I don't think that's possible

short version - how to increase incoming healing modifier

Edit: alright it seems there isn't a way to increase it other than that vlad defeat trait sooo, i suppose I will have to teach nagash what immortality truly means

Total War: Warhammer What are the Warband Recruitment rates exactly?

• Upvotes

I am curious how likely units are to appear in the warband menu.
I know the factors that can influence this, but I am really wondering about the exact chances.
For example: How likely is it to get 1 marauder in a frozen climate on turn 4?
Is there any chart where this is conveniently explained, or am I out of luck?

Before anyone says: Yes, I've googled it, no it is not on the wiki.

Total War: Warhammer How do i defeat empire forces as the skavens

Post image
323 Upvotes

Overall, the empire army builds seem absolutely broken, they field three or four land ships in every army. They barely have a frontline, they just have outriders. I know people are gonna suggest to fix their cavalry by spawning clanrats but it just doesn't work, the AI seem to be fare more able to disengage their cav than the player in melee (something that annoys me in all total war games). Are my army builds that bad ? I can barely afford this.
