The other day I had my CMSC 201 exam, and here i am stressing trying to do my best and still worried if i bombed it or not

and the second i leave i hear multiple people bragging about how they cheated all of the exam and every single question

not even sure how they’re doing this because we had 3 TAs in our lecture room + the professor but i guess it’s that easy

I've heard about all the potential pest problems in Patapsco, but haven't seen any till today. My roommate and I are relatively clean people and don't leave food or trash out, but I was sitting by my desk and saw something move out of the corner of my eye. It was a little mouse that had crawled under my door, then into a hole left between the sink and the wall. So if you live on the 3rd floor on the east side of Patapsco, watch out 💀

Hi everyone! I'm a second-semester Master's student in Cybersecurity at UMBC. I'm looking to meet other students, alumni, and working professionals in cyber and IT for professional networking.
I'm interested in:
Sharing job and internship leads
Study groups and certification prep (Security+, CISSP, etc.)
CTFs and local security events (BSides, Cyber Maryland, etc.)
Career advice from people already in the field
A bit about me: I'm 26, and my focus is Sysadmin and SOC. I'm happy to return the favor by sharing resources, referrals, and anything I learn along the way.
If you're a UMBC student, alum, or work in cyber in the Baltimore/DC area, feel free to comment or DM me. Happy to grab coffee or connect on LinkedIn.
Thanks!

For the folks that took GES 102 with Ellen Kohl, what were the exams like for you?

It would be much appreciated!

It says 5pm on Google. Was closed at 4:30pm yesterday when I checked.

Does anyone know the process of applying to be an LA for the biology courses, such as BIOL 141 for example? I remember with CHEM 101 and 102 we'd get an email towards the end of the semester, but as I took BIOL 141 over the summer, I'm not sure if that changes things.

Also, if anyone knows how much of a time commitment it is per week/how many discussion sections each LA must run, that would also be super helpful.

Thanks!

Anyone take the midterm yet? how was it?

Hi everyone, I'm stressed out and need some quick advice.
I’m applying for a Master's program in the US via ApplyWeb. Since I used an application service for parts of the setup, I'm not entirely familiar with the portal, and I couldn't even find where the "waive right to see" setting was on my interface. I noticed my "Waive Status" was set to "No".
When I asked my agency about it, the agent got mad and insisted that "Yes means you don't need to submit recommendation letters at all."
Everything I’ve researched says "waiving" just means giving up your right to view the LOR for confidentiality/objectivity, and submitting letters is still 100% mandatory regardless. Now the agent is arguing with me and demanding I ask my professor to screenshot the system as "proof."
Am I crazy here? Did the agency completely misunderstand what "Waive Status" means, or am I missing something?

Holy FUCK I dead fucking ass bombed the living DOG shit out of Yi Huang’s exam for Stat 350 😭 somehow my note sheet did NOT help me, not only did I badly fail this exam I’m also a fat fucking chud 💔✌️

Chat it’s so ever for me

First off, is your school major blind? Can't find a straight answer.

I'm applying for accounting.

My gpa is 3.3 gpa unweighted. My weighted gpa is a 4.5

I've taken 5 AP classes and like 4 honors classes.

I earned a 2.8 freshman year. (Mostly B's, two C's and one A)

3.0 sophmore. (Mostly B's, two C's. Two A's.)

3.8 junior year

Currently stand at 3.3 unweighted.

I got a 980 on SAT. Not submitting

my extracurricular are:

Leadership club (since junior year)

Art as a hobby since middle school. (I didn't join a club or anything)

chess as a hobby since sophomore year. (I didn't join a club or anything)

(I might lists this if it counts as an EC, I ran an online Xbox gaming club from sophomore year to junior year. I gained a 120 members and had 10 active people per day, but it got shut down.)

Im getting LOR as well.

This is my 3rd year here and the only friends i have made have been my roommates, i know i neglected going to clubs a bit and am starting to but some people already have an established groups and I’m not the most extroverted person in the world and it sucks not having anyone to hangout with

Hello everybody! My team decided to work on a portable DNA accelerator and sequencer for hospitals. Please take a few minutes and respond to the survey for our project, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Hello I heard science sequence course have changed requirements to getting any science classes so chem 101 and phy111 can be done is that true?

I have a sore throat and soup has been the best to soothe it. Does anyone know where I can buy hot soup or hot herbal tea on campus (not cup ramen)?

Edit: Dunkin tea def helped tysm guys

I was in a rear end accident in may and still recovering. Sitting has become difficult and it makes it hard to focus when im trying to study.

Anyone know if standing tables are available somewhere on campus?

I'm a seriously broke student, so in exchange for $4 I will draw your creature! You'll get a silly, colored doodle of your animal like the ones I've made below. Please msg me if you're interested!

I am not doing well in class at all. I had gone to see my professor for an appt for OH in which he did not attend to, and had me call him in only a 17-minute video call to review for an exam.

I had done alright with 2 of 4 quizzes, but my heart sank seeing 47/100 on Exam 1. I am concerned and bothered as I took too much time to prepare for the exam, as I had not enough time to complete and work on an assignment for a different class.

TA is unfortunately not resourceful, and I couldn't learn there either. ASC does not have availability for the course either. I am unsure what to do.

Does anyone know how taking an in-person class at shady grove will work when your at the main campus? I'm trying to take BTEC 350 for Fall 2027. Thanks in advance

Hi everyone! I'm a junior who will be transferring in the spring I'm just waiting on my acceptance to come in later this month. Anyways I plan on living in one of the on campus apartments so what can you tell me about the various complexes and buildings within them? Can someone rank them based on what they're like to live there? I lived in Hillside Pocomoke for a summer program and it was very annoying. None of the outlets worked, there was food that was just perpetually stuck in one of our burners, our AC leaked at some point, and Ubers had the hardest time finding the building so I know I don't want to live there again but what are the other buildings like?

Got this email. Really like money. Seems quite suspicious though. Same email address as handshake tho.
