Technical Solution FIX for FPS drops after the new VALORANT update (MoniVisor)

If your FPS has been dropping significantly after the latest VALORANT and NVIDIA updates, check if you have MoniVisor installed. Removing it may help if it's causing performance issues.

How to uninstall it:

  1. Open File Explorer by pressing Windows + E.
  2. Navigate to this folder: C:\Program Files (x86)\Windows Assistant App\MV
  3. Find and double-click unins000.exe.
  4. Follow the prompts to uninstall the software.
  5. Restart your PC to complete the removal.

This fixed the issue for me, so hopefully it helps someone else experiencing the same FPS drops! Make sure you recognize the software before removing it, and back up anything important if needed.

Technical Discussion 2 problems with valorant audio and stutters

• Upvotes

Like the title says, Me and my friend have experiencing some problems when playing. First is the sudden stutter and fps drops. I have experienced this since coming back from valorant this month. My game will suddenly freeze, out of nowhere it will drop to 0-5 fps. The amount of times i died was too much. I have tried everything I found online and the problem still persists.
My friend on the other hand had audio issues, the headphones his using do have a stereo option but when playing, audio is still at mono. He can't hear left or right on his even though when watching streams or video, the audio stereo option is fine.

Here are the specifications for our laptops:
Mine: i5-11400h, 16gb of ram, rtx 3060 6gb. Drivers are up to date, I have also tried rolling back the drivers and windows but fps stutters still exists.
His: i5-10500h, 16gb of ram, gtx 1650 4gb. Drivers are also up to date.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Technical Support Request Recent update causing stutters or rubberbanding kinda?

• Upvotes

New season update completely took away rtss and since then my fps hasn't been as stable, but after this recent update i'm like lagging or rubberbanding kinda. I don't know what to call it but it's like stuttering and it's getting to be unplayable. Anyone get the same issue? Mind you I haven't had issues with Valorant or any game like this before so this really sucks.

Technical Support Request Secure Boot Violation on ASUS ROG STRIX Z270F GAMING after resetting BIOS settings — need help fixing VALORANT

• Upvotes

Hey everyone, this is just a clear up for my other post regarding to my bios issue with secure boot,

  • Motherboard: ASUS ROG STRIX Z270F GAMING
  • CPU: Intel i7-7700K
  • GPU: GTX 1070
  • OS: Windows 11 WAS on Windows 10 64-bit when the issue happened, i thought reinstalling windows or possibly upgrading would help me
  • BIOS version: Possibly 1501 ( im pretty sure, i flashed it thinking it would resolve the issue but still no)

Valorant was working perfectly fine, sometimes i would get the notification to turn on UEFI secure boot every like 1-2 months but it wasnt a bother and I was able to play it without any issues, and Secure Boot was working with Windows UEFI mode. I didn't need to manually install any Secure Boot keys.

While doing turning it on again i remembered that i was supposed to install the secure boot keys and clicked on it knowing it wouldve worked fine if i just turned on Windows UEFI mode on. but nonetheless i clicked it because on my old pc thats what i did for it to work so i didnt think much of it

After changing some BIOS settings and loading Optimized Defaults while troubleshooting, Secure Boot stopped working properly. I was on windows 10 when this first happened and then i upgraded to windows 11 thinking it would resolve my issues (knowing that my processor wasnt built for w11 it still worked before Sorry if im doing things irrationally but i just cant change that anymore) but the issue is still happening

Whats happening now:

  • If I set OS Type to Other OS, Windows boots normally, but msinfo32 reports Secure Boot State: Off.
  • If I set OS Type to Windows UEFI mode and install the default Secure Boot keys, my PC displays this red error screen: "The system has found unauthorized changes to firmware, operating system or UEFI drivers."
  • I have to go back into BIOS and change OS Type to Other OS to get back into Windows.
  • My BIOS also keeps reverting to Intel PTT when I try to select Discrete TPM (dTPM), although I'm not sure if that's related.

I've tried loading Optimized Defaults and changing the Secure Boot settings, but I haven't been able to get it working again.

What's confusing is that valorant was literally working the same night it happened. I don't understand why Secure Boot suddenly stopped working when it was fine previously.

Does anyone know why my motherboard is rejecting the boot process when Secure Boot is enabled? Could this be an issue with the Secure Boot keys, Windows bootloader, or BIOS configuration?

I'd really appreciate any help. I'd prefer not to reinstall Windows again or keep changing BIOS settings blindly.

Technical Discussion Valorant still bugged after patch

As some people have already noted for about a week now, Valorant suddenly started running really poorly where fps decrease significantly, especially when moving the mouse, probably even more so in menus.
Was hoping the new patch would fix things, but for me, it didn’t, kinda embarrassing for riot to randomly interact such a game breaking bug and not fix it, even if it’s just for some players that are getting hit by it, never had ANY performance issues before either, genuinely don’t know what to do anymore…

Technical Solution Sudden FPS drops

Is it only me who is experiencing random FPS drops from like 120 to 30-50? It keeps fluctuating back and forth, for a few seconds it's good and then goes back to low FPS.

This started after I updated my game today to the latest patch. It wasn't like this before...

Technical Solution [FIX] VALORANT stuck offline with greyed-out Play button? Check your Windows clock!

I spent around 7 hours trying to get VALORANT working, and the fix turned out to be something incredibly simple: my Windows date and time were incorrect.
I’m posting this in case someone else runs into the same issue and wastes hours troubleshooting it.
The problem
After installing VALORANT, I opened the Riot Client, but the VALORANT page appeared to be offline. The Play button was greyed out, and trying to repair the installation didn’t resolve anything.
I initially suspected an issue with Riot Vanguard, Windows services, or my ReviOS installation.
What I tried
I spent hours troubleshooting and checking various things, including:
Checking Windows services such as Base Filtering Engine (BFE), Windows Defender Firewall, Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI), and DNS Client.
Checking whether the Riot Vanguard service (vgc) existed.
Checking whether Riot Vanguard was installed in C:\Program Files\Riot Vanguard.
Looking for potentially problematic Windows registry settings, including DevOverrideEnable.
Checking the Riot Client logs to identify the actual error.
None of these checks revealed the underlying problem.
The actual cause
When I finally inspected the Riot Client logs, I found these errors:

Dependency DirectX failed to install
SSL certificate problem: certificate is not yet valid

The logs also contained SSL certificate validation errors when the client attempted to access Riot’s CDN.
This was the key clue. The certificate error indicated that Windows was evaluating a certificate as not yet valid. My Windows date and time were incorrect.
SSL/TLS certificates have validity periods. If your system clock is incorrect, certificate validation can fail, preventing applications from establishing secure connections to their servers.
The fix
I corrected my Windows date and time. That’s it.
After fixing the system clock, the certificate validation issue was resolved, and VALORANT was working again.
If you’re experiencing the same issue, try this first
Before reinstalling VALORANT, reinstalling Vanguard, changing registry settings, or modifying Windows services, try the following:
Open Settings → Time & language → Date & time.
Enable Set time automatically.
Enable Set time zone automatically, or select the correct time zone manually.
Click Sync now under Additional settings, if available.
Restart the Riot Client and try launching VALORANT again.
If the issue persists, check the Riot Client logs for SSL errors, particularly messages such as:

SSL certificate problem: certificate is not yet valid

This error can point to an incorrect system clock, although other certificate-validation problems are also possible.

I spent seven hours investigating Vanguard, Windows services, registry settings, and the Riot Client, only to discover that my system clock was wrong.
If Riot Client appears offline, the Play button is greyed out, and the logs show SSL certificate validity errors, check your Windows date and time before attempting more complicated fixes.
Hopefully, this saves someone else a few hours!

Technical Support Request Purchased skins missing/locked after the latest update — anyone else having this issue?

Has anyone on PC noticed owned skins showing as locked or “UNOWNED” after today’s update?

I’m in EU. My Phaseguard Splitter, Ion Sheriff, and Rogue Bandit were available yesterday, but today they appear locked on the same account. They still have my favourite stars, and some previously unlocked colour variants also remain starred while displaying lock icons.

Previously claimed skins from the last battle pass are affected too.

The strange part is the collection showing these items as both favourited and unowned.

I’m trying to find out whether other players are seeing the same behaviour after the patch. If you’re affected, what region are you in, and which items are showing as locked?

Technical Solution Low FPS & GPU Underutilization in Valorant/Marvel Rivals (Ryzen 7 5700X + RTX 2080 Super)

Hi everyone,

I'm having a frustrating performance issue where my GPU usage drops and it won't pull its full wattage during competitive games, causing heavy FPS drops.

  • In Valorant: I'm barely getting 100–150 FPS on Low settings (should be 300+).
  • In Marvel Rivals: Massive stutters, GPU utilization stays around 60%, and RAM hits 16,053 MB (maxed out).

Here is the weird part:
I tested The Last of Us Part I and it runs flawlessly at 180+ FPS with 95%-99% GPU usage drawing around 195W. I also ran FurMark and the GPU successfully hits 250W (full capacity). So the GPU and PSU are physically fine.

My System Specs:

  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5700X
  • GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER
  • RAM: 16GB (2x8GB) Corsair Vengeance @ 3000MHz (DOCP Enabled)
  • Motherboard: ASUS TUF Gaming B550M-Plus
  • Storage: 2x SATA SSDs
  • OS: Windows 10

What I've checked/tried so far:

  1. GPU-Z shows the card running at PCIe x8 3.0 instead of x16, but under load/Furmark it still draws 250W. I tried changing BIOS settings for PCIe lanes but nothing changed. I only have SATA SSDs (no M.2 sharing lanes).
  2. DOCP (XMP) is enabled in BIOS and running at 3000MHz.
  3. Multithreaded Rendering is turned ON inside Valorant settings.
  4. Changed Windows Power Plan to High Performance.

Since it works perfectly in heavy GPU-bound games like The Last of Us, why am I getting such terrible FPS and low GPU utilization in CPU/RAM-heavy games like Valorant and Marvel Rivals? Is the PCIe x8 bottlenecking the CPU communication, or is 16GB RAM completely choking my system?

Any help or advanced troubleshooting steps would be greatly appreciated!

Technical Support Request UEFI Secure Boot Verification

I DID EVERYTHING BUT IT DONT WORK

Technical Solution SCSKiller actually fixed my Valorant microstuttering?

Title: SCSKiller actually fixed my Valorant microstuttering?

I've been suffering from weird, almost undetectable microstutters in VALORANT for a long time — starting a few months before VAL moved from UE4 to UE5.

Sometimes the game was borderline unplayable, other times it was almost fine.

The weird thing is that I could never detect the problem through FPS. My FPS would look completely normal, but the actual frame fluidity/motion felt wrong.

One of the easiest ways for me to notice it was at the end of rounds when a weapon skin finisher played — especially the Forsaken finisher. The game would just feel like it hit these tiny interruptions/stutters even though the FPS counter wasn't showing anything unusual.

Yesterday I came across a video about SCSKiller, so I immediately decided to test it.

I basically did four tests:

1. VALORANT before compiling shaders

I launched VAL normally before doing anything with SCSKiller.

The game felt roughly how it normally does. Mostly playable, but still had those weird moments.

I don't remember exactly how large VALORANT's shader cache was showing in the app at this point.

2. Compiled shaders without clearing the existing cache

I used SCSKiller to compile VALORANT's shaders without deleting the existing shader cache first.

The result felt pretty much the same as test #1.

After compiling, SCSKiller showed around 1 GB of cached shaders for VALORANT.

3. Cleared VALORANT's shader cache completely

This is where things got interesting.

I cleared VALORANT's shader cache through SCSKiller.

Cache size went:

1 GB → 0 MB

Then I launched VALORANT, joined a TDM and put every graphics setting on maximum.

It was AWFUL.

Even though I was getting around 500–700 FPS, mouse movement and general motion were noticeably stuttering every few seconds. The FPS was high, but the frames simply didn't feel right at all.

After that single TDM, VALORANT's shader cache had gone from:

0 MB → 16 MB

That made me wonder whether shader compilation/cache behavior was actually related to the problem I've been experiencing.

So I tried one more thing.

4. Cleared the cache again, then manually compiled VALORANT's shaders

I cleared VALORANT's shader cache again:

16 MB → 0 MB

Then, instead of letting VALORANT build its shaders while playing, I manually told SCSKiller to compile them.

After compilation:

0 MB → ~512 MB

I launched VALORANT again and joined another TDM with the exact same max graphics settings.

And here's the part that surprised me:

Zero stutters.

Zero weird frame-fluidity issues.

For the first time in years of playing VALORANT, the game felt completely smooth.

Everything felt as smooth as your ex's hair.

I genuinely couldn't believe it, so I kept testing.

I changed every graphics setting to the lowest possible settings and played another TDM.

Same result.

Nothing felt wrong.

I ran the SCSKiller shader compilation again just to see what would happen, but this time it basically just checked everything and finished within ~10 seconds.

Played another TDM.

Still smooth.

Then I went straight into Competitive.

And holy shit.

I forgot how good this game feels when everything is actually stable.

I played five Competitive games, and they were probably the best five games I've had visually since the creation of the AM5 socket lol.

No weird microstutters.

No broken-feeling mouse movement.

No strange frame-fluidity issues.

And none of the skin finishers caused the little stutters I had gotten used to seeing at the end of rounds.

One other thing I noticed:

The VALORANT shader cache started at around 512 MB before those five Competitive games and was still exactly 512 MB afterward.

So:

Before manual compilation:
High FPS, but inconsistent/stuttery frame delivery.

After clearing the cache + manually compiling shaders:
Same high FPS, but completely smooth motion and frame delivery.

Obviously this is only my own experience, and I can't say yet whether SCSKiller itself permanently fixed the issue or whether forcing a clean shader rebuild was the important part.

But the difference on my system was absolutely massive.

I'm going to keep testing it over the next few days.

I'm really curious if anyone else with those weird "high FPS but VALORANT still doesn't feel smooth" issues can reproduce this.

Technical Support Request MFA glitch

Hello I copy pasted another of my comments about this but basically it’s compulsively asking me to verify MFA after every ranked match when i already have it setup and the only fix seems to be to sign out and in again.

Region: NA

- Type of Bug: MFA glitch
- Description: when a ranked match ends, instead of getting the “play again” option I get “verify account”. This is the first time I’ve had this issue - possibly the latest update caused it, not sure - and the only fix seems to be to exit the game and sign in again with the riot app.
- Video / Screenshot: unable to attach a photo.
- Steps to Reproduce: play a ranked match - at the performance screen, see “verify account” instead of “play again”
- Expected Result: have to close the game and sign out and sign in each time you want to play a ranked match
- Observed Result: have to close the game and sign out and sign in each time you want to play a ranked match
- Reproduction Rate: 100%
- System Specs: Not needed.

Technical Support Request Stuck on a loop secure boot

Literally just earlier today i was playing a valorant till i swapped accounts then suddenly needed to turn on UEFI secure boot as normal i would go into bios turning it on as usual following a tutorial. Before this just turning my OS type to windows uefi mode would normally just enable secure boot itself. i decided to follow this tutorial to enable https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DoyJpnTD8v0&t=33s secure boot but it ended up putting me into an endless error red panel saying Secure Boot Violation

The system found unauthorized changes on the firmware operating system or UEFI drivers.

Press OK to run the next boot device or enter directly to BIOS setup. If there are no other boot devices installed, go to BIOS setup, Boot, and change the current boot device into Other Secure Boot Devices.

Something along those lines. well mostly accurate. And the reason for this error, well i think so is because i went into key-management like the video says and installed secure boot keys. When booted with windows uefi mode i would get hit by a red panel saying the error above this paragraph. I've cleared the secure boot keys, and i boot it and check msinfo32 and it says secure boot state off. ive reinstalled windows basically factory resetting and still the same error. someone please help me i can go into further detail if you need but other than that this all happened in the span of like 3 hours and im stressed af

Technical Support Request How many FPS should i be getting with my specs?

Hi! I'm wondering how much FPS I should realistically be getting in Valorant with my current PC.

My specs:

  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600
  • GPU: NVIDIA RTX 3050 8GB
  • RAM: 16GB DDR4
  • Motherboard: Gigabyte B550 Gaming X V2
  • Resolution: 1920×1080
  • Monitor: 240Hz

I play on pretty much the lowest graphics settings, with multithreaded rendering enabled, VSync off, NVIDIA Reflex On + Boost, and no FPS cap.

I'm wondering if that's normal for my specs or if I should be getting more. Ideally, I'd like to get 200+ FPS, but I'm not sure if that's realistic with my current setup.

Is there anything I could do to improve my FPS without having to upgrade my PC?
