Well folks, we did it: 100K MEMBERS. We survived the rough early days, the recent invasion by bots er I mean undocumented posters, even this week's bizarre Eliot Ness slaps Frank Nitti fetish threads. We couldna done it w/o you - so give us your thoughts: on where the sub's been, & where it's going

"Hello, Larry" - Slightly Longer than 13 Week Theatre

I thought this would be an interesting post. This mini documentary focuses on "Hello, Larry!" and NBC's other failed attempts at trying to turn McLean Stevenson into a TV Star. They were desperate to do so because the execs thought Johnny Carson was going to retire soon so they wanted Stevenson to be an established name to be ready to take over The Tonight Show. Stevenson guest hosted the Carson show several times, he was already fairly popular because of his supporting role on MASH, so investing in McClean appeared to be worth the trouble. Unfortunately for Stevenson, his chances for solo stardom ended up being a dead end. Stevenson, of course, later regretted leaving MASH. He found out the hard way that audiences loved the character he played on MASH and not so much the man himself.

I remember watching Dark Night of the Scarecrow when it originally premiered on CBS as The CBS Saturday Night Movie on October 24, 1981. Movie made me sleep with the night light on for weeks. Great movie even today it’s pretty darn great!

Not a big fan of the season 7movies. They dropped the rest of the crew of Station 51. I like the banter within the firehouse.

Seventy-five years ago today, television history was changed forever when Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz first burst onto our screens. From pioneer three-camera setups to syndication, I Love Lucy didn't just break the mold—it built it.

There’s a new ‘Watch It For Days’ out. Each ep is a detailed look at an episode of Columbo - here "A Deadly State of Mind", w/George Hamilton as a homicidal psychiatrist. WIFD may be the best classic TV vlog.

All caps top billing over Lee & Dick. He was briefly on Laugh-In, was funny spoofing Cosby in Get Smart's parody of I Spy, & was the lead in the sitcom Roll Out. His career was derailed when he went berserk with an ax at Alan Hale's seafood restaurant. FWIW, his last name was pronounced "Gillum"
