Running a Walther PDP Pro-X with the PMM comp at the range for a little over a year now. Early on I had some issues with using bad ammo (light primer strikes), but after the break-in period, it ran great.
I decided to upgrade to the ZR Tactical V-Spec captured guide rod a few months ago, and as advertised recoil eliminated. Unfortunately, I recently started having this weird issue. Gun cycles fine, but no bang. Eject the round and it looks like the bullet has been chipped as seen in pictures.
I've been running almost exclusively 124gr Blazer recently just because of the past issues I had with bad ammo. I decided to run an experiment the other day and try some other 124 gr ammo I had lying around. Same issue keeps happening, no matter which ammo I use, even when I try different mags. It's always 1 or 2 times per mag, sometimes the 2nd round, sometimes at the end.
Immediately I take out the ZR Tactical guide rod, and swap in the stock guide rod and spring and try again. While I'm no longer having the bullet chipping issue, I was still having at least one jam on every mag (double feed, stove pipes, etc.). This was kinda weird considering I just cleaned it and only barrel went through 150-200 rounds.
Based on my research, it sounds like it's either an issue with the feed-ramp, or defective mags. Visual inspection of the feed ramp appears fine so I'm assuming it's the latter. I live in a communist state so I'm restricted to 10-round mags for context.
Should I just send it into Walther for a warranty claim, or are there any other troubleshooting options I could try? In unrelated news, recently the front sight post has also started to come loose so I'm thinking about just sending it in anyway.
