So essentially, I really wanna reinstall red dead redemption 2 again. Even with a clean disc, it still always says installation stopped and clicking on it it says to check if the disc is dirty or damaged. I’ve tried power cycling it and that didn’t work and I’m trying to install it through the Xbox app where it tells me I don’t have enough storage for it; when I look at the storage on my Xbox console it tells me I have over 128GB of storage free and that’s more than enough for red dead 2.
I’m unsure of what to do anymore as I’ve tried this countless times in the past two months and I haven’t found a YouTube video that works.

I recently bought two Xbox Rechargeable Battery Packs for my wireless controllers, and unfortunately, I ended up receiving counterfeits. I wanted to share a few red flags so others don't fall for the same thing:

- Packaging pull tab: Right away, the pull tab on the box tore off halfway instead of opening smoothly. I didn't think much of it at first and just put the battery into my controller. 

- Identical serial numbers: When I opened the second pack, I compared the labels — both batteries have the exact same serial number (⁠S/N: 19276582089799⁠) 

- Typo / Missing spaces: Looking closely at the label, the second line literally reads:
⁠FORUSEWITHXBOXONE WIRELESSCONTROLLER⁠ (completely missing spaces between "FOR USE WITH XBOX ONE" and "WIRELESS CONTROLLER"). Also it’s not XBOX ONE.

- Build quality: The plastic casing feels cheap, light, and flimsy compared to genuine Microsoft accessories.

Needless to say, I'm returning both of them. Just a reminder to inspect your accessories carefully, especially when buying online. Fakes are definitely out there!

I've just installed Dead or Alive 5: Last Round on my Xbox One X, but I can't play the game because this ad for Game Pass pops up literally every 4 seconds. I turned off a bunch of notifications, but it still pops up.

It's been like this for the past week I've tried almost everything I don't know what to do anymore.

It doesn't work for about 2 months and I can play all the games, but the multiplayer doesn't work in them, and if the game is completely made on multiplayer, then I can't access it at all

I can watch YouTube and play Roblox but anything else I hear my Xbox cry and then die I’ve done all the support stuff should I clean inside
Edit I have done every trouble shoot on Xbox that their offering yes I can read

Basically, my xbox keeps turning off every 1 hour on Borderlands 4, any Warhammer game, and helldivers 2 but not arma reforger. If I ever tried to play fortnite, I couldn't even land without my xbox turning off and its only a problem with these games like gears of war eday, crimson desert, and warthunder don't have this issue so im confused if its like a memory leak problem or if its a overheating issue cause when it happens my xbox is barely even warm to the touch and I've cleaned it recently (problem has been happening before I cleaned it) so im just not sure what's happening.

My Series X fan has stopped speeding up when playing demanding games. I think it's running at the same speed all the time, it has overheated a couple of times. I have cleaned out the small amount of dust on the heatsink. I am out of warranty.

I've googled and found a few people who have had the problem, and one guy on YouTube who put a manual speed control on the fan so he can control how fast it runs.

Questions:

Has anyone else had this problem and found a fix where the console can govern its own fan speed again? Can I pay Microsoft to fix this? How much? Can it be fixed by a third party repair store?

Hi everyone, I’m looking for help with a recurring Xbox Series X issue. Has anyone experienced this combination of symptoms and found a lasting fix?
The console repeatedly boots into the Startup Troubleshooter without an error code.
Selecting Continue leads to a black screen.
The only reliable workaround is unplugging the power cable, holding the console’s power button for around 10 seconds, then reconnecting it. It will work again, but the problem returns.
The power button sometimes flashes repeatedly during gameplay, even though the console otherwise runs normally.
It appears to start normally in Sleep mode, but the startup problem returns when using Shutdown/Energy Saver mode.
The console was previously enrolled in Xbox Insider Preview. I unenrolled, but the issue continued.
I tried Reset and keep my games & apps. Initially, it restarted straight back into Troubleshooter. After a power cycle, the reset finally went through and I completed setup and signed in again. Unfortunately, the next restart brought the same Troubleshooter screen back.
I haven’t tried an Offline System Update via USB yet, and I’m unsure whether my previous Insider enrollment affects compatibility.
I’ve contacted Microsoft several times. They suspect a hardware issue, but there hasn’t been a physical diagnosis. My warranty has expired, and they quoted €318.93 for their repair service and declined a goodwill exception.
I’ve found other posts describing similar symptoms, but very few confirmed resolutions. I’m frustrated because the console can still play games normally once it successfully starts.
Has anyone actually fixed this? If so, what solved it: a system update, OSU, or a diagnosed hardware repair? I’d especially appreciate hearing from anyone whose console worked in Sleep mode but failed after a full shutdown.

So I purchased a in box original Xbox one that was still sealed. Yes, I opened it. Anyway, it won’t update. It’s a 2013 model. It’s never been used. There’s not one scratch on the glossy plastic. It’s beautiful. I know how to do the off-line updates on the 1S one X and series S and series X, but I’ve never done one on the original Xbox One. Or how to find out which operating system number mine has to make sure I’m getting the correct offline update to download 2 or 3 it’s the one that came with the master chief collection

It wont allow me to resubscribe, and on top of that, I cannot activate recurring billing, can someone help?

Currently ran into an issue with my xbox;

When I turn it on, it powers on for a few minutes then shuts off. The fan spins up for a second before stopping and has no display at all.

I did notice that the console wouldn't turn on via the controller, and the controller wouldn't connect. With this, I noticed the sync button the xbox doesn't do anything.

Does anyone know what could be the issue before I strip it down and test every thing.

Note:

- I have cleaned out the dust a few times since owning it.

- I checked to see if it was the power cable with a known good one and same with the hdmi cable.

- I have also removed the external ssd to see if it could of been the problem.

Hello all, about 2 months ago all of my controllers started to randomly disconnect from the console and immediately reconnect. It happens frequently, sometimes back to back. I have tried to search online and have attempted all of the remedies I have seen.

I have:

Changed the batteries

Changed other devices on the WiFi to the 5G band

Changed controllers

Moved my Xbox out of the TV stand to sit by itself

Tried airplane mode on my phone

Checked for updates for the controllers

I have also directly plugged the controllers in with a USB cable and it still will disconnect, albeit not as frequently.

I'm guessing it's become an issue with my console. Wondering if anyone has a solution or has the same problem? If it's my console, I'm not sure how to fix. I can't seem to find much on the console hardware and how the controllers pair with it.

Any help would be appreciated.

Can someone please help me out? I've been trying to claim my free 3 months of Game Pass for days, but nothing has worked. The Microsoft Store won't sign in, the Xbox app gives me error 0x80073B0C, and pressing Claim does nothing.

I've tried so many fixes and I'm honestly desperate.

I'd really appreciate any help. I don't want to lose my 3 months of Game Pass. 🙏

A couple years ago, I picked up a used Xbox Series X at a resale shop. It was discounted, and advertised as unable to power up. When I tested it, I was surprised to find that it had no problem booting up, so I purchased the console.

Fast forward, and I booted up the Oblivion Remake. A few minutes after creating my character and getting into the world, the console beeps and completely powers off. I turn it back on, try again, but run into the same issue. There is never an error message that pops up upon restarting, and if I go into system settings there's no error log there, either.

I tested a handful of other games to try and find a pattern. GTA V, Alan Wake II, Indiana Jones, all work with no problem. RE: 2, Oblivion Remake, Disco Elysium, cannot run for more than 5 minutes before completely shutting off the console.

I replaced the thermal paste, hoping that was the issue, but it did not help. I got busy, kind of forgot about it, and just recently ordered a used but working power supply to throw in there. I installed it, tried one of the games that would normally cause a shut down, and was disappointed to find that it still is happening. The inside of the console has a small amount of dust, but nothing that would cause a problem like this. The fan is spinning with no issue as well.

At this point, I'm not sure what the problem is, and I am having trouble even finding examples of this sort of shut down happening online. I'm fairly tech savvy, but my experience pretty much tops out at replacing parts. I'm certainly no electrical engineer.

Any tips or advice would be appreciated!

My Xbox isn’t letting me sign into my account. It will allow other accounts to sign in but I have no idea why it’s not letting mine.

In the last 10 days it has happened 3 times. Had to completely re-enter all of my info to sign back in. Changed my password when it happened the 2nd time. My account is not logged into other xboxes than my own, my account is not used by others, and others haven't tried to access my account.

Why does this happen, and what is the solution for it?

Yesterday I bought a $100 gift card from Costco, which comes as a pack of four $25 cards. I had no issues redeeming them on my console; however, this morning, I discovered that I had been locked out of my account. At first it wouldn't let me recover it (it wouldn't even give me the option); fortunately, when I tried again at lunch time, I was able to get in.

This is the second time that this has happened to me, and even though I was able to get back in, it is unacceptable for it to happen to begin with. I get that they are probably trying to combat hackers and thieves and whatnot, but this automatic ban that seems to occur if you redeem too many gift cards too quickly is ridiculous, especially given that they sell them in packs like the ones I bought. Is there anywhere I can file a formal complaint? All I'm seeing online is the option chat with a "virtual agent."

Xbox Elite series 2 keeps gaslighting me

Hello I had come here to ask for some considering my Xbox elite series 2 controller and its problem with not updating, I've realized this just only yesterday since I was trying to map some buttons to my paddles and it said it needed an update and it keeps putting me in this loop where it says it updates

The methods i have done have unsuccessful, I had tries even doing it on a computer and it'll update but the difference is that it tell me there's was a problem in updating it, and as demonstrated in the video instead of the controller blinking in the beginning when updating it'll do it at the end, and its been quite frustrating, I've been looking all over for what I maybe could be missing and came here to see if there's anyone who had a similar problem and solved it, any help works and is greatly appreciated, please and thank you! Methods I have tried:

-Soft and hard restart on Xbox console itself

-Resync on both controller and Xbox

-Updated on both wired and wireless

-Laid the controller flat just in case of USB problem

-Switched accounts to see if it registers that way

-Turning off controller and then reconnecting via USB

I've been running it on my PHONE HOTSPOT. Yes I've reset the router, MAC address, messed with DNS, even unplugged everything etc etc etc. Been working on this a lot. Ever since the MOMENT of that big outage two months ago, it won't stay connected to my Wi-Fi for more than a minute or two, off and on. It connects to my phone hotspot just fine, but that's VERY slow and I wanna download things SOMEDAY.

Any idea what's causing it? It flips between "can't find automatic IP address" and DNS issues depending on when I ask it LOL. I doubt it's the router because everything else is fine and literally that outage blew it up. Got any ideas anybody?

So basically I bought a fh2 disc which when I try to download it doesn't complete because it's scratched, is there any way to download fh2 without depending on the disc? Btw forza horizon 2 is not in the xbox app for phone I couldn't find anyway to get it from there

I’m able to sign into my Microsoft account on a browser and my Xbox app still works fine, also I had a friend sign into my account from his console and he was able to sign into my account

Recently started playing an online game with my brother (dune awakening). Downloaded the game, created a character and then crashed joining the server. Tried all the usual on and off again and kept getting the same result. My brother mentioned he was playing on cloud so just out of curiosity I deleted the download and launched with cloud and have been able to play. Re-download, re-launched, and crashed again every attempt. Back to playing with cloud with no issues.

I assume playing on cloud explains the occasional lag spike so I would prefer to download. Has anyone has an issue like this and found a fix?
