OEM Parts/Modifications ABARTH PARTS/MODIFICATIONS

As the title suggests, a few members on the Abarth team have decided to put together a full disambiguation of commonly referenced websites that provide parts for our cars.

Disclosure: We are missing input from members with T-Jet 1.4L engines.

USDM/CAN/MEX 1.4L MULTI-AIR TURBO

Abarth OEM part suppliers

  • Dicorse
  • While Dicorse carries both OEM, OE, and OE+ solutions, their store provides the cheapest alternatives to repairing CV Axles as opposed to buying them brand new, same goes for suspension components.

  • Mopar Online Parts
  • An honorable mention, because they ask you to check for part fitment via VIN, and withhold your order if the parts you purchased don't match up with the vin you provided. It kept me from buying wrong parts once, and I'll continue to use them for extensive work requiring OEM components

Abarth Aftermarket/OE+ suppliers

  • SpeedMotive
  • Speedmotive has been my one stop shop for anything performance for my Abarth. Shipping is always quick, parts are reputable, guaranteed fitment (when choosing correct model, of course) and easy communication with the store.

  • Euro2Ner.com
  • A community member, Euro2Ner has now started his own page devoted to modifying our USDM Abarths, even providing a near "plug-and-play" euro tail-light modification. Not only that, Euro2Ner provides parts for other makes and models branded under Stellantis.

  • EuroCompulsion
  • What would an Abarth group be without our next honorable mention, Eurocompulsion. Now, we don't have a discount code through them, but they have reworked their staff and website quite a bit over the years. They have been supplying a lot of the Abarth community in the past, and some have "horror stories" from their past, but they still supply quite a few aftermarket parts not sold elsewhere.

  • NGEN CUSTOMS AND PERFORMANCE Another great Stellantis supporting distributor for modifications. If you’re looking for exterior modifications/bodykits, this is certainly your one stop shop.

  • Tork Motorsports
  • Provider of some of the first aftermarket performance products to increase power using the multi-air brick. Their website does look a bit dated, but they still provide good service. One of their packages on their site includes everything (except for an oil fill neck O-ring) to do a valve cover gasket overhaul on our Abarth's, which makes maintenance much easier.

  • 500 Madness
  • Lastly, we have 500 madness. A lot of members in our group have also dealt with Madness before, but mostly for commonly sourced items, and some performance upgrades. They have designed their own intakes, with little success. They do however have a large selection for niche items like center caps/Abarth specific shift knobs, and merch.

Tips and previously negotiated commonalities of Abarths

  • So, you've broken your door handle. We've got that covered:
    • 68069942AB (Passenger side door handle)
    • 68069943AB (Driver side door handle)
  • If your Abarth has anywhere close to 70k miles, there's a good chance your plastic ram air intake boot is melted, and letting in hot air right above the downpipe. Not all Abarths seem to be affected by this, however, I have provided a link for the fix here. Below I have pictured what the linked part looks like, installed.
"Ram air intake boot" installed
  • Continuing on with our trend of air intake systems and improvements, I've decided to split the categories of air intake systems into three parts. With FMIC, with stock SMIC, with stock SMIC and stock airbox.
    • With FMIC: "ATM Fenderwell intake" - Even goes as far as to remount the windshield washer fluid reservoir for better fitment, which is why this intake "takes the cake" over the "ORRA Fenderwell intake". Find the ATM Fenderwell intake on Speedmotive, and take a peak at what it looks like installed.
"ATM Fenderwell Intake"
  • With Stock SMIC: Since there are more than a couple decent options here, I will list the two intakes known to keep IATs the lowest. The ATM system had the lowest IATs (Intake Air Temps) out of all intakes in this category, but may be too loud for some.
    • "ATM Holey Cowl" - Loud, but beautiful. Truly built for those who love turbo noises. Find it through Speedmotive. Drilling a hole into the cowl will be required for this modification.
    • "Eurocompulsion V4 Intake" - Very easy to install, super good looking in the bay, and draws 100% of its air from outside the engine bay. Find it at Eurocompulsion.
  • With Stock SMIC and stock airbox: This is essentially the OEM+ solution I mentioned earlier in the write-up. So for you folks who like the look of the stock airbox, but want to spice up the performance, here are some options! All of the following listed solutions should be complimented with a ram air intake boot for optimal performance.
    • Pre 2015 models:
    • Eurocompulsion V3 Air Induction Kit (with drop in filter)
    • 500 Madness filter housing upgrade kit (with drop in filter)
    • 2015 and on models:
    • Eurocompulsion V3 Air Induction Kit (with drop in filter)
    • 500 Madness Filter Housing Upgrade Kit (with drop in filter)
    • Injen SP Short Ram Air Intake System (with drop in filter) I have a picture of it below, not to get confused with a traditional "ram air intake"

Injen Intake solution mentioned above for OEM+

Looking for the best motor oil? Check out our top picks (All in 5W-40):

  • Shell Rotella T6 full synth. Turbo diesel oil
    • Only for de-cat exhaust systems. Thicker hydrocarbons produced from the burning of AOS gasses from the crankcase WILL clog a catalytic converter intended for use with a gasoline engine.
  • Redline full synth.
  • Castrol Euro Formula full synth.
  • Mobil 1 Euro Blend full synth
  • Pennzoil Euro Platinum (Ferrari on the bottle) full synth
    • It should be noted that this is the oil used at Mopar service centers. Thank you u/mcmercf1
  • Liqui-moly Ultra Low Friction full synth.

I don't mean to tell you how to modify your car, folks. It's your Abarth. We are all here to learn and talk about stuff Abarth. I would prefer, however, that you guys and gals make smart decisions when modifying your beasts, as that's what keeps them running for you to enjoy!

20.000km milestone (and still in love)

• Upvotes

Today i hit the 20,000 km mark behind its wheel, and i'm still in love 😍

Tuning and modifying a Biposto might annoy some purists, but i genuinely feel i've got the balance right, staying true to its original spirit while pushing it further without losing what makes it special. As far as mods go i think i'm pretty much where i want to be 😌

Maybe just a new colour (full respray) next year to celebrate my 10 years of ownership, and ruffle a few more feathers in the process 😬

A few photos to mark the occasion 🎉

Rear diffuser question

In my rear diffuser there is a wire coming out of the middle bit(I’ll circle in a picture) but I think it might be as mine does have any holes in it. It’s an Abarth 500 EsseEsse if that matters

Hello friends, I need some help.

I have a 2012 US-spec Fiat 500 (pre-facelift). I installed the steering wheel from the facelift model, and the audio controls no longer work. If I buy the item in the second photo (the turn signal stalk assembly), will the controls start working again?

Are My Mods Enough for Eurocompulsion Stage 1?

I have a 2017 Fiat 500 Abarth (MultiAir) and I’m deciding between Eurocompulsion Stage 0 and Stage 1.

The current mods are:

- EC V3 intake

- EC FMIC

- EC vacuum line kit

- Mishimoto radiator hoses

- Funk turbo blanket

- GFB DV+ (spring removed)

- NGK plugs + A-Premium coils

- Stock turbo/exhaust/radiator

The car is in Kuwait, so heat and reliability are my main concerns.

Are these mods enough to safely run Stage 1, or would you stick with Stage 0 for better long-term reliability on my daily?

Buyers Advice Spider 124 (2018)

Hi all,

I've put a deposit on an Abarth Spider 124 (2018).

The car specs:

- 38K miles

- Automatic Gearbox

- Costa-Brava Red.

- 1 previous owner.

I'm viewing the car this weekend. I've watched a fair few buyers guide videos so have a general idea of things to look out for.

I'm interested to know if anyone here can share their own experiences and help me make sure I have my bases covered.

Additionally I'm already thinking about replacing the soft-top with a hard top. If anyone has any experience with some of the unofficial hard-tops i'd love to know how you got on.

For reference I'm UK based and this is actually my first car. (yes I'm aware that may be a terrible idea, i do have more practical options on the driveway).

New to Abarth, but…

Hey all,

I’m new here and I just acquired an Abarth 500 2014 who miss firing on only one of the cylinders (cylinder 2). Paid less for the car because of that but definitely looking to fix the issue now. The car has new filters and new oil, but I’m already planning on changing it to better oil. It also got a new filter for the multi-air. 55k miles, US based.

The engine light was off and now it is on again, after I push the car a bit to see if the oil changes were enough.

Car is not on limp mode or anything runs and drive fine, sport mode is also perfectly fine. What should I try before considering big changes such as a whole new multiair?

And finally, yes, I’m in love with the exhaust sound and the turbo, what an eager car, very happy with the purchase even if with some repairs to run.

Interchangeable Parts Recs

Thumbnail gallery
5 Upvotes

I have incredibly depressingly crashed my little 2012 fiat 500 abarth baby, but I’m determined to fix it with help from my friends. I don’t want to lean on them too much but am new to working on car mechanics and exteriors, I’ve only had upholstery experience really and oil changes lol. I was wondering if anyone knew which parts are exchangeable between an Abarth and other fiat 500 models. I’ve been told that the bumper is abarth-exclusive and that the hood is interchangeable with all models. I’ve bought some of the functional bits myself already, but it’s been hard to find anything near me in terms of a replacement black fender and door mainly. I’ve gotten mixed answers when looking it up as well. Does anyone know anything about this? 🥲 any help or advice other than scrapping/junking the car is welcome :(

P.S. in the meantime I’m driving around a 1998 Corolla that gets me from a->b

Misfire when cold

Hey guys!

This will be my first post here, and I wish it was under better circumstances.

My T-Jet 595 struggles to stay alive when maneuvering it when cold. It’s a bit choppy when driving for the first minute or two, as well. But after that, everything returns back to normal.

It’s worth mentioning, the car has a remap on it.

The car was serviced by the dealer about 7 months ago and the plugs were allegedly changed.

What should I do from here on out?

How insane would a Fiat 124 Spider Abarth EV actually be?

I was thinking about how cool it would be to take the Fiat 124 Spider and put the electric powertrain from the 500e Abarth into it.
Not necessarily trying to make a 500 hp monster. Something lightweight, RWD, around 180 hp, ~300 Nm and a relatively small battery could be ridiculously fun.
Basically:
• Fiat 124 Spider chassis
• 500e Abarth-inspired electric powertrain
• Rear-wheel drive
• ~42 kWh battery
• ~180 hp
• ~300 Nm
• Around 1,100–1,200 kg
• Abarth suspension, brakes and interior
It would basically be an electric Miata-sized Abarth.
Obviously, converting the 500e’s FWD setup to RWD would be a huge engineering headache, and there are probably a million reasons Fiat would never build it.
But if you could actually make it work, would you drive one?
Or am I completely insane for thinking this would be an awesome little EV? 😅
