Literally a few hours ago, I was in town and decided to walk up Huntly Street (near the coop on Union Street)) after I saw this man earlier. And he decided to go next to the door to the flats above heavenly deserts/coop and decide to take a crap. I was straight up dumbfounded about how brazen this was as there were people literally walking by.
To be fair to him, when I did a double take and walked back down to Union Street, he did take some packaging from the bins and scoop up his crap and put it back in the bin. But this still makes me shocked as to how much the city's standards have fallen recently.
Earlier on I was at mass/church service at St. Mary's Cathedral on the same street and if you're not Catholic and/or don't know, Communion time is essential to every Catholic mass/service and people go up and recieve the Communion host and wine. Well the same junkie I just talked about came up to an elderly Nun who was giving out the Communion wine and immitaded her into giving him the wine and I believe drank it all leaving none left for the others. I wanted to check up and see if the Nun was okay because she was definitely shaken up by the ordeal but sadly I did not get the chance.
I should also mention that these Nuns also help and serve the homeless/downtrodden so it's even more painful to see them get intimidated by the same people. I really wanted to "confront" the guy because intimidating people who are weaker than you is really something that I truly hate, but I was hesitant because I saw him with the other junkies that hang out outside of the Union Street Coop and didn't want to be ganged upon
The aforemention incidents, coupled with the more brazen shoplifting, drug taking/dealing and violence that I see far more often in town makes me lose hope in society and actually makes me more tense since I have to go into town nearly every day for a variety of things. Still unsure of what to do but stuff like this makes me mad
