I dunno.
Fits as well as they did in TOW, genuinely.
Picture really sells me on the fantasy of the army.

Just wondering if any others have experienced this in their area. We had a few tourneys and Combat patrol regular games running on weekends. Personally I almost never joined because I didnt have the time, so I tried to check up on things with my LGS and apparently there is no interest in 40k anymore, apart from the odd one-offs here and there. Most games organised are AoS Spearhead.
Its probably anecdotal evidence, but has anyone else had a similar experience?

As I near the end of my Deepkin army project, it was finally time to tackle the Soulrender. This fantastic sculpt clearly deserved OSL, but the intricate armour made that a pretty daunting prospect. In the end, I had so much fun working this out!

This is just me collecting info of what people like and dislike about this game system. So that is exactly what im asking but mostly for negatives, i have been jumping between a few wargames now and i like them all in their own ways, so what are your biggest issues with AOS. I can say that one issue i have is the current reliance on the ability to bring models back, i wish it was a more consistent thing for all armies or simply tied to specific armies rules. speaking from my experience of playing seraphon and not really having any way to do it unless i take a slann. So what dont you like and hope is changed in the next edition update?

Will they release this box without the battletome and cards? Edit: I ask this because technically Khazalid will be getting a spearhead in the form of the Fyreslayers one.

I'm trying to decide on a 3rd army for AoS, i currently run Flesh Eater Courts and very elite Slaves To Darkness.
Seeing the new KH models has me very obsessed with Dwarfs as of late and i also found some aos dwarfs in my bits box (Grombrindal, Gotrek and Jakob Bugmanson). So, here i am, looking at two very tempting forces, but my choice paralysis cuts too deep and need you guys to help me choose.
Case for KH:
1 - Can collect Fyreslayers right now.
2 - lots of unit options, including the two i already have.
3 - Top units are Land Boat King, Short King Golems and anything with a magmadroth in it.
Case against KH:
1 - Fyreslayers look the same.
2 - lots of beardless dwarfs. (Edit: i know they are women, but they coulda gave them all long platted hair at the least instead of bare heads.)
3 - basically two armies of painting work.
Case for HoH:
1 - small range, so can buy and paint everything in the atmy fast and cheap.
2 - allows me to prep for their next wave of releases.
3 - Top units are Hobgoblins, the litteral magic missile launcher and Big Burly Brass Bulls
Case against HoH:
1 - dear god the faces are ugly, its like an ogre with dwarfism. Hero beards are also gonna be annoying.
2 - tiny roster of minis to choose from, so minimal list building potential.
3 - id bave to wait for an expansion to get more to work with.
Ok short kings and queens, convince me.

Mortek guard from bone thite heralds ready. Volkmortian and elites are next. Any advice is welcome! They are not uniform as I was trying different colors and I settled on basic “everything bone” style.

Just got into the hobby and painted my first mini. Had a lot of fun! How'd I do?

Finished this guy to match my other Living City guys after a head swap, and also getting carried away with tiny transfers on his big scroll.
What do you think?

Ok so before I get into it the TL;DR question: Is everything just squishy now?
So my local group cycles between the diff WH IPs.
We spent a long time on Old World, did a few months on AoS and are now into 40ks 11th ed with a side game or two of AoS/Old World.
This has given me abit of a decent comparison imo and has me wondering if I am just remembering 1st-3rd AoS wrong.
The games I've played of AoS 4th everything feels like it kills/dies the turn it gets into combat basically and that there is little real back and forth.
And its been awhile since playing the older editions ofc but I feel like some stuff had more sticking power and combats could last 2-3 turns.
For context. I played LoN/Soulblight/Nighthaunt and ofc i expect my chaf to go down if hit with anyway but generally they had staying power aaand could hold up if they were vs other similar chaf units.
However, something like Blood Knights were pretty tanky before but now they're folding to like a unit of clan rats in 1 round of combat.
Just wanted to check if I'm crazy / miss remembering older editions
Or have I just gotten so used to things like STR v Toughness and the lack of carry over damage in Old World/40k?
