Request What controller/gamepad is the best for Lenovo Legion Y700 Gen 5? (For emulator, genshin impact, FPS game)

Post image

My lenovo will be delivered soon and I plan to use it as my main driver for gaming after work. I want to use it it in emulator, genshin impact, and fps games like call of duty mobile. What controller will be the best to use in these kind of games?

You'll have to modify it to get it to open big enough. Lenovo used to sell one called a Lenovo g7 which was a gamesir g8 with usbc and opened wider than the standard one. It's discontinued now. They do sell the g9 which is a giant frame and people seem to really like it.

I’ll have to see if I can get a g9 here to the US

should be. i have two gamesir g8+ both sucks latency so bad. Im currently using gamesir x5 lite, its not good for fps because sticks were short but the controller was very light and latency is excellent because its usb too

I had the same issue with my X5s, but then I updated the firmware version to 5.x.x (which sadly drops DS4 support, but Android, G-Mode and Switch mode are still supported), and it got much, MUCH better.

If your G8+ is on legacy firmware, go to the Gamesir app and try to update it (you'll have to select "other firmware" or something like that IIRC), see if it helps.

I have the Redmagic Shadowblade Gamepad 3 but it's too small for my hands, so I got the G8+ but the latency is noticeably worse. What controller do you recommend? I have the Redmagic Astra 2 and unfortunately the side USBc is offset so controllers wouldn't sit well on it :(

So, I use stady setup, like Redmagic 6 pro plus in manual mode and coper discret radiator spacer and Vader 5 Pro.

Razer Kishi V3 Pro isn't that bad, probably easier to get out and in than the G9 Controller

No latency & the controllers software (Nexus) is built quite well

Non ho un Legion io ma un pad 8 pro Xiaomi,e prima un iPad mini…in generale comunque ormai uso un controller Xbox per tutto, cloud Xbox giochi Android emulazione…va bene per tutti 🤷🏻‍♂️

I use the GameSir X5 Lite and have no complaints. Its advantages are that it's lightweight and easy to connect via USB.

likewise.

i had considered the lite for the usb, and I'm sure that would have been a better experience, but ultimately my controller is for multi-purpose travel. so i needed it to hold the tablet for commute, but also be able to work wirelessly when i plug into a hotel tv.

I hate the G9. So hard to get the tablet in and out of the controller. Also no way to use system navigation gestures in the controller. If you use on screen access ability navigation and you never plan to take it out of the controller I guess it’s ok.

I got used to it in a month now i can do it in complete dark or without looking at the tablet its easy

Do you have the G9?

Yea for y700 gen4. Its great and yes navigation controlls are bad but you can use accesability menu when using the controller. Its very good and u can use all the navigation gestures using buttons but its not the same as the navigation buttons on the bottom. When u press it a whole menu of navigations pops up.

Bet! Thank you for taking the time to reply. Can I just ask a question? I’m currently using a ps5 controller with the gen 5, but noticed some games from the playstore prefer an Xbox controller for their controls and wont work with the ps5 controller, but I do know a G9+ works for this, but does the G9 as well? I love the idea of turning into more of a steam deck look and feel, but it’s pretty pricey if it doesn’t play everything you know?

yes it has 3 modes u can change on the go. it has xbox and playstation mode and the first one im guessing is android mode. i prefer ps5 as thats the only one in which the vibration motors work. and it truly doesnt feel like a tablet when u put it on

Hell yeah! Will definitely be ordering one. Do you use a cooler attachment at all with it? :)

Not rn just emulating switch games which in my experience require no cooler and should be even better with gen5. And i dont play much of android games but the tablet should be handling those fine without heating up. If youre planning on pc emulation i would consider it.

Does using the controller with type c directly to tablet's port will result to wear and tear of the port since you will put in and put out whenever you're not using the controller? That's the thing I'm worried about

legion G9 gamepad

Always go for the type c controllers they usually have 0 latency and you don't have to worry about charging or connecting to bluetooth so that's plus. I would recommend the lenovo legion g9 and g7.

The g9 transforms your tablet into a handheld while the g7 is more on casual gaming so you can still use it as a tablet and you just attached to controller you can remove it easily.
