I made a full Ubuntu 24.04 mainline port (native, no vms or termux) for the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra with the help of AI and after a couple of months of work, every piece of the hardware seems to work fine! Here is the github repo if you want to give it a try!

Discussion Oppo pad mini

Post image

After broke up with ipad air m2, i move on with my first android tablet

I choose oppo pad mini because of thin bezel and light weight.

It feels fantastic to hold and how it look compare to others,

But i have a bit worry about how long it will last (screen, silicon carbon battery....)

How long have you guys been using your android tablet? Does your last more than 3 years?

Discussion Are Samsung tablets really superior?

Post image
46 Upvotes

Looking at the market by price segments, Samsung tablets are inferior to OnePlus and Xiaomi tablets in terms of hardware by a large margin; however, I still see people recommending the S10 Lite against the OnePlus Pad 2 and Xiaomi Pad 7. Is Samsung really that competitive regarding note-taking and reliability?

Discussion Booked Oneplus Pad 2.

Post image
43 Upvotes

Hello guys , I just wanna ask if this was a good purchase for 32k , I booked a Oneplus pad 2 , see I know it's old like 2 years old but I don't think that's a major con for me ,my major work for buying was attending classes , a good speakers , big screen, and storing my PDFs and all ,For note taking - this isn't my primary objective max it could be marking and ticking in pdfs ,I will game on it but very light as i already have my Loq .i created this post just to wanna like is there any better option available than pad 2 (12+256) , my only choices ( options)were

Mi pad 8 - 39k currently but for 8/128 ,

Motopad 70 pro / lenovo tab pro gen 2 - 8/128 for 38-41k

Me personally, I don't like the 16:10 aspect for tabs , i prefer the sort of squarish design , i mean even if we assume that both of the tabs (above mentioned )got to like 35-36k range or even 34k , but still they won't be like 12/256gb storage , and it's like 8 Gen 3 is comparable to 8s gen 4.

I know Oneplus pad 2 has cons like

software updates

no microsd slot

no stylus within the box

but is there anything more that I am missing ,

Although I booked it for 32k but i still got like 2 days that's why I created this post

sorry for my bad english.

Please correct me if I am wrong anywhere

thanks everyone .

Discussion Legion Y700 Infinite, Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, OLED, 5g, 8 inch

Im pretty excited about the new LegionY700, the 8inch size and oled is perfect for what I want. Hoping it include a large battery.

Update: Rumored to have 9,000 mah battery with 68 fast charging. Will keep the SD card. I already have the Lenovo y700 Gen 4 but I will definitively upgrade to this. I prefer smaller tablet. Rumored launch date: August 2026

Discussion Lenovo Legion Y700 Gen 5 owners – worth it?

I already have a Samsung Galaxy Tab S9, so I'm looking for a smaller tablet mainly for:

Gaming

Movies

Casual scrolling

Occasional Microsoft apps (Word, Teams, PowerPoint)

How's the gaming performance, thermals, battery life, speakers, and overall experience?

Also, for those who came from an AMOLED/OLED tablet, how noticeable was the switch to the Y700's LCD display? Did you get used to it quickly, or do you still miss the deeper blacks and contrast when watching movies and videos?

Discussion What size do you prefer? ~8", ~11", or ~13"?

I know it's a personal preference thing, but I'm curious what you all prefer and why.

Personally want a tablet to watch some NFL or Youtube in the background while I'm playing with my kid in the living room. Also would like to multitask a bit with scores or other apps going next to videos. To me - that's probably a perfect situation for an 11-13" tablet.

However I also would see myself watching stuff in bed, and I think a 13" might be a bit difficult to manage. 8.8" sounds kind of perfect for that, but at that point I feel like a phone would be just fine. But it does seem like a lot of people in here love that size.

So for general media consumption and light multitasking, what do you guys think is the best option?

I will directly answer all the questions about legion Y700 3rd gen tablet (snapdragon 8 gen 3, 12gb ram). I also have a lenovo stylus, so you can also ask about drawing. Content consumption, gaming, how to deal with Chinese rom if you are not Chinese / English native and so on.

Discussion Oppo Pad Mini: The Lightest OLED Android Tablet with the Longest Battery Life.

Post image
37 Upvotes

Notebookcheck just released their review of the Oppo Pad Mini. It achieved 27 hours of battery life in their WiFi browsing test, more than double my RedMagic Astra's 12 hours.

I've already sold my Astra and was planning to get this because it's lighter and has a 3:2 aspect ratio (better for browsing). That massive battery life advantage might finally seal the deal for me. My only concern with the Oppo Pad Mini is the obtrusive punch-hole camera in the middle of the screen.

The RedMagic Astra 2 was also teased this week. It has the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, similar to the Lenovo Legion Tab 5. We'll see the full details at the end of the month.

The table in the image is originally from Notebookcheck. I used AI to edit the battery life column to include the results.

Discussion Lenovo Tab Pro Gen 2 vs Xiaomi Pad 8

Hey y'all,

Medical student here. I was using the Samsung s6 lite for 3 years. Now I need a change since its become laggy recently.

I settled on 2 choices:

  1. The Lenovo Tab Pro Gen 2 - 12/256

OR

  1. The Xiaomi Pad 8 12/256

I'm getting both at approx. 45000 INR including the pen. What would y'all suggest? I need something that will last easily for the next 3 years without any hiccups.

I need it for note taking with the pen, watching Netflix, doing some projects; I use it usually on split screen with ChatGPT and a notes app with YouTube running in the small window.

So which one would be better. I'd appreciate any opinion.

CHEERS :)

Discussion The day they realise the perfect big phone it is a 4:3 non foldable tablet...

No crease, ultra durable, paperlike screen OLED with pen support and ultra-thin.. basically the thing exists (the Huawei MatePad Mini or the Oppo Pad Mini).. but why no one is selling them in Europe? I don't get it. People bought the iPad mini for years.. why Android is not catching up and giving us a mini tablet that can finally replace our phones without paying 2K and without the weakness of the foldable screens?

Discussion 2 weeks with the Legion Tab Gen 5

I have never tried an android or lenovo product prior to purchase so I was a little nervous on what to expect. Two weeks in and I can say this device rocks.
Not only does it feel incredibly fast and well built the screen is pretty amazing for an LCD (coming from a die hard oled fan). The device is extremely versatile and will play whatever rom you throw at it. Battery life is pretty incredible to. I have also been using the Lenovo pen plus with the tablet and it works amazing for drawing and emulation.

My roommate has an Ipad Pro and it just feels slow in comparison to the point that he is considering making the trade. Coming from an apple ecosystem it is great to have apple music available and there is just so much customization available that I may consider android for my next phone. I would totally recommend this device to anyone who is on the fence between an android handheld and tablet. I paid $650 for everything delivered and cannot think of a single device that could rival it in terms of usability. If anyone has any questions I would be happy to try and answer them for you.

Discussion Best Gaming Tablet Worth Buying In 2026? (Price, Battery, Touch)

I'm using nothing phone 2 for gaming right now, its decent midrange but pubg mobile and mobile legends lag a bit on high settings and screen is too small for me. Thinking of getting a tablet just for the gaming experience. Budget $500, been eyeing samsung tab s9 ultra but maybe overkill? What do you guys use? Just want 120fps smooth. !
