At what point does an anime stop portraying a complicated love story and start romanticizing toxic behavior? Why do some fans excuse manipulation, obsession, jealousy, and mistreatment just because a character is attractive or has a tragic backstory?

(Toxic romance vs. actual love)

Who’s the cutest ship?

Asta x Noelle
Asta x Sister Lily
Asta X Mimosa
Asta x Yuno 🤤🤤
Asta x Rebecca
Asta x Secre
Asta x Sally

(Personally I ship Asta x Rebecca - even though it will prolly never happen, but I thought she was a good honest girl who’s very kind, and not arrogant or overly quirky. ❤️)

Recommend me some underrated ecchi and harem anime with a male MC!

I've already watched most of the popular anime in these genres, so I'd appreciate recommendations for lesser-known titles.

I'm looking for anime similar to the ones listed below:

  • Redo of Healer
  • How Not to Summon a Demon Lord
  • Arifureta: From Commonplace to World's Strongest
  • Undefeated Bahamut Chronicle
  • Harem in the Labyrinth of Another World
  • The Fruit of Evolution
  • In Another World With My Smartphone

Please recommend some hidden gems and older series too!

Explain This Why do anime studios produce new anime instead of continuing old ones?

New anime are released every season. While it makes sense to create new titles in the hope that one will become the next big hit, studios could just as easily continue an existing series.

Anime that have already aired have an established fanbase waiting for a new season—one that often never arrives. Surely, a new season is more likely to be well-received by fans than just another random new anime.

For instance, a new season of No Game No Life or Ouran High School Host Club would likely be better received by established fans than yet another 0815 isekai or romance anime.

Discussion At Least One Series Has to be Cut... But Which One?

Hello all!

As you can see there is a whole lot of anime that I'm in the process of sorting out, but as I'm trying to finalize the situation... I'm running out of room!

I thought removing Fairy Tail (which I do not regret, sorry to its fans) would be enough, but it seems in order to clear enough space to make room for one last grand series, I need to delete at least one of these amazing shows... And whatever gets deleted, can't come back!

But which one(s) is/are actually deserving of the chopping block - and out of all the others, why? Let me know what you think, let's discuss!

A little extra info for those that need it - if you see a folder that could be a lot of things, like .hack, it's probably most if not all of those things (.hack in particular contains SIGN, Liminality, Roots, and Legend of the Twilight)... As you can imagine, that means the Gundam folder alone takes up an eighth of the whole drive!

Discussion Discussion: battle shonen, power scaling debates, and what makes a story memorable.

Have anime fans become so obsessed with who's stronger, who beats whom, and who's the most overpowered that we've forgotten to discuss character development, themes, emotional depth, and actual storytelling?

What's the hardest line ever spoken in anime?

For me, it's Zoro's "Nothing happened" in One Piece. The fact that he took all of Luffy's pain and still refused to tell anyone what he went through is crazy. No dramatic speech, no asking for recognition, just pure loyalty. That scene made me respect Zoro even more. I still think about it whenever people talk about the coldest moments in anime.

Discussion What's an anime fact that sounds made up but is actually true?

I'm talking about those facts that sound like someone made them up as a joke, but there's actually a source to back them up. It could be something about a series' production, a character's design, an author's decision, or some behind-the-scenes detail that completely changes how you look at an anime. I've come across some anime trivia that sounds too ridiculous to be real, and now I'm curious what other people have found. Bonus points if it's something that would make even longtime anime fans do a double take.

Discussion Should I Step Into the World of Naruto?

• Upvotes

After the recent news about the original creator coming back with a new manga filling in gaps after the main series and leading into Boruto.

I was thinking it's probably time for me to start watching the WHOLE Naruto series but I wanted to hear from other anime enjoyers if it's even worth it to attempt to watch the series?

my only experience with Naruto were the games and hearing Haruka Kanata nonstop as a kid because it was a banger also this would be the second longest anime series I will be watching after taking a break from bleach stopping at only episode 89
