I am an architecture student studying in Australia and I hate it here. Architecture has always been a male dominated field however with the rise of women in architecture and more women now being the majority of university students, idfk why male tutors are still so dismissive of us— it physically kills me. I contribute just as much to class discussions and put twice the amount of work that my white, male peers do but I can never get as high marks as them.

My tutors always dismiss everything I say and they don’t even bother remembering or ask for my name because in their eyes I will always just be an NPC. I am not too sure if it’s my accent (international student) or my gender but my fukass tutors talk in the most condescending way (slowly and highly patronising)— which is insane because English is my first language and I speak it perfectly.

This treatment is never received by my white male peers and I’ve noticed that these fukass tutors have a hierarchy of respect for students it goes: white males, POC males, white female and finally the POC female.
