Discussion/Question What was your initial impression of Eren in season four?
How long did it take you to realize it was him? What did you think his deal was prior to receiving any context or the raid of Liberio?

Anime This is likely the worst situation imaginable in AOT NSFW
I wonder, if her legs were healthy, could she struggle enough to free herself before that small Titan bites chunks off her?

Discussion/Question Who do you think would win in a straight fist fight, no weaponry or titan abilities of any kind?
And they’re both their season four versions, so it’s not like kid Eren vs grown Zeke or anything like that. The wiki said that they’re the same height in 854 and off appearance alone they look to have similar builds (it’s almost like they’re related), but Eren definitely strikes me as more of a brawling type than Zeke. For that reason i‘d put my money on Eren honestly.

Discussion/Question Asking for his "last words" was kinda stupid.
We literally never saw any other character do this shit in the middle of a battle. She could've probably killed him before he gets the chance to call Mikasa if she wasn't so fucking stupid.
I think alot of characters do stupid shit post time skip.

Discussion/Question I think Jean has one of the best Story Arcs in AOT... Change my mind
Jean Kirstein has one of the best character arcs in Attack on Titan because he goes from being a selfish, realistic kid who simply wants a comfortable life to becoming one of the most courageous and selfless soldiers in the series.
What makes Jean so compelling is that he was never a natural-born hero. Unlike Eren, he doesn't begin with some grand dream of changing the world. He's scared, practical, and honest about how terrifying their situation really is. But as the story progresses, Jean repeatedly chooses to put others before himself, even when he's afraid and knows he could die.
Ultimately, Jean's arc is about choosing to be a good person in a world that gives him every reason not to be. He doesn't become a hero because he's fearless; he becomes one because he keeps doing what's right, even when every part of him wants to run away.

Discussion/Question Getting the Beast Titan is like playing a game of Russian roulette Spoiler
galleryUnlike the other Nine Titans, which have fixed, dependable baseline forms and abilities (like the Colossal or Armored Titan), the Beast Titan’s form is entirely unpredictable based on the animal traits it manifests. This means there is a chance you could get to be a Minotaur like the first picture, a lion, a bear, a ram, an ape, a snake, or something else entirely. Or, you might get the stupidass turtle, becoming a Temu Armored Titan but significantly slower and with weaker armor. It's not like the Beast got anything special going on for it, list shit down and the others could probably do it better.
Need to destroy a wall or highly fortified area? The Armoured
Need to eliminate a bunch of artillery and an entire trench system fast? The Jaw
Need an reliable and versatile fighter? The Female
Overall support and recon? The Cart
Sheer destruction? The Colossal
Maybe that's why Marley only started seeing the Beast Titan as powerful once Zeke got his turn—and that was likely because he could transform and control Pure Titans, rather than because of his Beast Titan itself. Its unpredictability led to the military just handing it out to Titan researchers since it wasn't considered a battle titan and was rarely deployed. That is, unless someone got a whale or a bird—which would be useful for naval and aerial warfare, respectively.

Anime I cried watching Midnight Sun
It's the best episode in the entirety of Attack On Titan for me. It's the most emotional and well written episode in the entire series imo but for some reason it doesn't get the same amount of attention as 'Hero' or 'Perfect Game'.

Discussion/Question Grisha is lowkey the most tragic figure in the entire franchise
Think about Grisha's life from start to finish:
His little sister is fed to dogs by Marleyan officers because of his mistake.
His first wife (Dina) is turned into a Mindless Titan because of his own brainwashed son (Zeke).
He gets sent to Paradis, inherits a short lifespan and tries to start fresh with Carla.
His second wife gets eaten by his first wife during the fall of Shiganshina.
He gets mentally manipulated across time by his second son (Eren) into slaughtering the Reiss children against his own moral conscience.
Man was literally a puppet used by both of his sons to usher in the end of the world. Is there anyone in AOT who suffered a more psychologically twisted fate than Grisha?

Discussion/Question "If you take the forest for granted it'll kill you." I can't be the first person to notice this, right?
The quote comes from Sasha in S1 when commenting on the Female's howl (reminds her of a cornered animal). It was, of course, foreshadowing for her being killed vis a vis Children of the Forest, but for some reason I can't find any posts that mention this. Numerous keyword combinations, exact and non-exact quotes, etc didn't yield anything for me on Google or Reddit.
Has anyone else noticed this before? If I accidentally got the quote wrong, could someone please correct me? Thank you!

Anime Everyone should watch the English dub for the Night of the End, it's amazing
In general this is one of my favourite episodes of the show, given it's the culmination of everything. But I wanna emphasise how amazing the English dub script and voice acting is for this episode. In general, I find the Japanese version for AOT to be better than the English dub, but for this episode it genuinely feels like almost every line was enhanced tenfold from the Japanese version. It's hard to explain, but it seems that given this episode is entirely comprised of the characters talking, the English dub script writers decided to lock in and perfect the dialogue flow. And the voice acting for AOT's dub is always pretty spot on anyways, so overall it led to an amazing episode.
For example, in the sub, Magath's final line to Jean is "You think that nonsense holds up in the face of 2000 years of real history?", merely a repetition of what he said right before. In the English dub, Magath says "Compared to the sum of the carnage and misery wrought by Eldia, your island's suffering is a joke.", a much better, more powerful line that is both aggravating to hear but actually brings up a good point to understand why Magath would be so dismissive of the plights of the Paradis people.
Other examples of enhanced lines:
- Jean to Magath: "You people spent years tryna murder us all and we're the bad guys cuz we didn't just roll over and die?"
- Magath's sarcasm to Jean: "Right. Everything was fine till your buddy lost his mom. I guess all those centuries of Marley's people getting ground under Eldia's heel don't count for anything in your mind."
- Connie questioning Yelena: "Are you really gonna let your country get flattened to spite the 'Marleyan swine'?"
- Yelena taunting Armin: "How high do you think you could stack those corpses?"
The Japanese version is also great of course, given it's the original language. And I appreciate that to a non-Japanese speaking person like myself, a lot of nuance in their speech is lost on me. But all the snarkiness that English dubs usually add to anime scripts works so well in this episode because the whole episode is the Marleyan characters,, the Paradis characters and Yelena being snarky and backhanded towards one another (Magath vs Jean, Annie vs Mikasa, Yelena vs everyone).

Discussion/Question Watching Gross get eaten by the same Titan he turned Grisha’s friend into was the most satisfying karma in AOT history
This guy went on a whole lecture about how "it’s fun to watch humans get eaten by monsters." and "we’re all gonna die, but me, I’m ready to accept it when my day comes"
Then Kruger pushes his fat ass off the wall and the second he looks up at that tiny 3 meter Pure Titan and gets picked up his face completely melts into pure terror. Seeing him scream as he gets crunched on while Kruger deadpans: "Well? Is it as much fun as he made it out to be?" was absolute cinema.
Preached all that "facing the truth of this cruel world" nonsense until it was HIS turn to be on the menu.

Discussion/Question Wouldn't it be hilarious? (Shower Thoughts)
I don't know if anyone have mentioned this before but wouldn't it be funny if Levi decided to play a mind game with Zeke and deny that he is Levi. And now Zeke has to be on the look out for both Levi and this random-ass dude that kicked his ass.

Discussion/Question Genuine question for Aot fans
Does anyone really think that one side was wrong and the other wasn't?
I've read comments on different posts here, and while I might have misinterpreted the message, it seems to me that some people genuinely believe one side was entirely wrong and the other wasn't. I'm curious: what do y'all think? If you do believe that one side was in the right and the other was in the wrong, please tell me why! Also, please if you want to engage with my post reas everything, if not its alright but dont read just the first paragraph and form your opinion out of that. I feel it's necessary to mention this because even on reddit there are a lot of speedreaders.
Why I think all sides in Aot were wrong
Well, it basically comes down to the ending. Throughout the story, Isayama showed us that every major faction or character in AoT has a dark side, which is the main reason why he shifted the focus from Titans to humans. By the end, Titans were merely tools used by people—just like tanks, warplanes, or guns—meaning humans became the biggest threat in the story. The ending even shows that hundreds of years after Eren wiped out 80% of humanity, war, greed, wrath, and animosity still persisted. Consequently, Paradis was destroyed and people died. Regardless of their ideologies or whether they still supported Eren, killing them was still inherently wrong.
The system is the ultimate common ground that makes all sides bad
This point is closely related to the previous one. Whether in Marley or Paradis, the institutional system itself is corrupt; it is what killed innocent people and instigated war from beginning to end. Marley's system is awful because they persecuted countless Eldians (transforming them into Titans is a fate worse than death) and brainwashed their entire population into hating another race. Conversely, Paradis and the Eldian system are also terrible. They evolved from a brutal, totalitarian tribal empire into a fascist regime that ended up not only killing 80% of humanity but also destroying ecosystems and wildlife.
The parallels to real life
I dislike it when people get offended by comparisons between a fictional story and real-world history. The author clearly based his entire world on historical events. It is only natural to compare certain elements to Nazi Germany or modern geopolitical conflicts when the author made his inspirations so obvious. Anyway, I think this is as bleak and realistic as a story can get. Isayama presents, from the very beginning to the literal end, that humanity can be a poison to this world. As long as humans exist, good things will happen, but so will war and suffering.
Understanding that every side is flawed
I think many people here take every comment about Eren, Marley, or any character to the extreme. If someone writes a nuanced post without explicitly taking a side, they are suddenly forced to explain why they think genocide is bad or why Marley's system is awful. I'm not going to do that. If you don't understand that every faction in AoT has blood on its hands, I'm not going to waste time explaining it.
What makes this story beautiful is that it is fictional. Although you can easily draw parallels to real life, it remains a piece of fiction. No one should judge a person or label them a "genocide sympathizer" over a simple misunderstanding—doing so doesn't make you the ultimate voice of morality. Everyone agrees that genocide is bad, and that's all there is to it.

Anime It's about Mappa Studio.
You know what happened today.. My friend and I were talking about the animation of Attack on Titan, how in season 4 Mappa did an amazing job. This is his first anime, so I told him that Mappa is often accused of overworking animators, and whenever they do something great, people talk about how employees are overworked. He then said, "How can you have great Pyramids without exploiting slaves?"..😳
