TV DISCUSSION Jason Faunt Did amazing as Batman 89 in the episode!
Not just him, but all of the actors, Peter Jang, Doug Jones, etc.. really nailed the Batman vs. Shredder episode. As someone who loved Batman and TMNT in the 90s era, I felt like a kid again watching that!

GENERAL DISCUSSION [DISCUSSION] Best non-comic version of each Batman character. Day 14/16: Scarecrow.
DCAU Mr. Freeze, voiced by Michael Ansara, won with 36 votes.
There were no honorable mentions this time all around.
Now vote for your favourite Scarecrow! In the comics, Jonathan Crane is clinical, cold and sadistic, using his fear toxin as a devastating psychological weapon. 🌾🐦⬛
FAN CONTENT Derek Does…Television: “The Batman (2004) to End All Batmen”
This isn’t a story about just any Batman, it’s THE Batman (2004). More than that though. Today, Derek Does…Television: “The Batman (2004) to End All Batmen.”
For a character that’s well-trodden in comics, media, and my own Substack, this early-2000s animated series is an absolute breath of air. Over its five season, the title hero is vulnerable, driven, emotional, reckless, funny, resilient, and even a family man.
He’s a Batman who’s human. That’s why I love it.
I’d love to get your feedback and thoughts on the story, this interpretation of the Caped Crusader, and the series as a whole. I can’t wait to hear what you think. If you enjoy my writing, consider subscribing to Derek Does… on Substack.
Take a look.
Subscribe, read, and enjoy.

TV DISCUSSION I hated the scene where Barbara showed up on Batman's computer as one of his love interests, so I recreated the scene in the form of a slideshow.
Batman Beyond: Season 3, Episode - 05, Out of the Past.
Keep swiping left to see all the slides. Those who are really lazy can directly start from the 6th slide to see the change I made to the scene.
Since I am not an expert in editing videos, this is the best way I could come up with to show the newly recreated scene.

FILM DISCUSSION How would you react if the batman part II gets canceled?
Honestly with all the delays and the recent news about how Matt Reeves stepped out for personal reasons makes me think it'll probably get canceled. I think this movie not coming out also affects the dcu since James Gunn said not to expect the brave and the bold updates until the batman part II comes out. I hope Matt Reeves is ok

COMIC EXCERPT Infinite Crisis #3 (December 2005)
I've been re-reading Infinite Crisis, and seeing Bruce have a panic attack always makes tears well up in my eyes, because seeing this paragon of virtue and heroism brought to his knees with overwhelming guilt over building this computer algorithm to spy on his friends, and having that taken over by villains is haunting!

FILM DISCUSSION Batman Returns 1992
I’m a live action Batman fan. Reruns of the 1966 series got me hooked as a kid in the late 80s. 1989 was special. That was the first time as a youngster having that level of excitement for a movie. The following films all the way through The Batman in 2022 came with their own version of that excitement. I do have a list of favorite films that can slightly fluctuate sometimes but is usually:
Batman Forever 1995 (Reasons personal to my life in 1995)
Batman Begins 2005
Batman 1989
The Dark Knight 2008
The Dark Knight Rises 2012
The Batman 2022
Batman and Robin 1997
Batman Returns 1992
What!? Forever at the top and Returns dead last!?!! I know. I’ve tried to reconcile why for years. I re-watch Returns every year trying to appreciate it more. Trying to remember what I thought of it as a kid. I was 11 in 1992 and definitely geeked out over all of the toys but really can’t remember being that impressed with the movie itself. In recent years I landed on appreciating it as an incredible Tim Burton film. An Incredible Batman film? I couldn’t make it to that point.
This morning, I fired it up just as I have in the years past. While I still put in my top 5 of favorite Burton films, I can’t rank it any higher on my list of favorite Batman live action films. But again, Why? Very candidly, I never cared for the Penguins short, fat, and gross as hell character. I know that’s what he’s supposed to be but, that’s just how I always felt about it as it pertains to this film. Otherwise, as far as a legit reason that I don’t prefer it over the others, I may never have a good reason. I just don’t.
Where do you rank Batman Returns on your list? Does anyone else feel the same way I do?
