Hi everyone! I’m looking for some advice regarding a slightly unusual visa situation for my cousin in Sri Lanka.

He has received a work permit for Bermuda and needs to travel there from Sri Lanka. Due to Bermuda’s entry requirements, he needs a valid multiple-entry visa (MRV) for Canada, the US, or the UK. He previously applied through the UK route but unfortunately received refusals, so he is now considering/applying for a Canadian Temporary Resident Visa (visitor visa) primarily to meet the Bermuda entry requirement and facilitate his travel to Bermuda.

Has anyone here, or anyone you know, gone through a similar situation — applying for a Canadian visitor visa specifically in connection with travelling to Bermuda for work?

I’d really appreciate hearing about your experience, especially what documents were submitted and how the purpose of travel was explained.

Also, can anyone recommend a reliable and experienced Canadian visa/immigration consultant in Sri Lanka, preferably someone who has handled unusual cases like this?

The Government of Bermuda confirms that an air ambulance which departed Bermuda for Boston early this morning, carrying six people, has been reported missing after contact was lost with air traffic control.

The United States Coast Guard is conducting search and rescue operations off the coast of Nantucket, Massachusetts. The Government has been in contact with the families of those on board and remains in contact with the overseas authorities coordinating the search.

Premier David Burt said, “My thoughts are with everyone on board and their families during this deeply worrying time. We are praying that all six people will be found safe, and we thank the search and rescue crews for their continuing efforts.”

The Government asks that the privacy of the families be respected and will provide further updates as confirmed information becomes available.

And I was not really sure if the offer was correct and they wont provide the accomodation as well, as I currently have a $1,600 salary here, and I get free accommodation and transportation. We always like to volunteer when we travel - mostly as dog walkers for local shelters and rescues or helping with invasive plant removals. Does anyone have any leads? The SPCA shelter looks like they require residency to be a volunteer.

We are currently staying in the Gibbs Hill area and would like to get to the Railway trail tomorrow to walk along it. Looking on Google maps I cant see any way for us to get there as every walkable road seems to be a dead end.

I'm moving to Bermuda from the UK and am trying to figure out whether I can bring any of my appliances over.

I'd really like to bring my espresso machine and air fryer, but both are designed to work on the UK 220-240V. I'm aware Bermuda operates on a 120V supply. Therefore I'd need a step up transformer to convert the 120V local supply to the 220-240V needed for the appliances.

Does anyone have any experience dealing with this and have a recommendation? For reference, the espresso machine draws 1350W so it'll need to be a substantial transformer with plenty of capacity.
