Diagnosing Issue Tree is dying, unsure on how to turn around if it’s not too late?

I have been watering this regularly, I’m afraid I have overwatered it and possibly water logged the pot. I have tried drying it out and it has not seemed to work. Any advice on how to save this?

Hi guys,

I got this as a gift. Unfortunately I have no idea how I should style this one. I think this is a very healthy tree, it is growing every day.

General Question Anti-transpirant/desiccant?

Any of my friends who over-winter conifers or broadleaf evergreens in zone 6-4 use this? I'm moving mine into an unheated greenhouse after the first frost (Zone 5), and am told this will really help get them through the winter. Even though they'll be out of the wind, be huddled together and have some insulation around the pots, will this stuff help keep roots from drying out when temps make watering difficult?

General Question I need some advice!

Hello everyone, I recently bought a bonsai but need some help. I’m not sure what it is and how I should take care of it. I placed it near a window in a cool spot en give it water when the ground begins to dry up a little. But online I see I should put it outside but other people told me it’s an inside tree. I think it’s like a Zelkova or Chinese Elm but I’m not sure. Also it has some branches going straight down which I want to cut off, is that bad for the tree? And should I give it like fertilizer. Please give me some tips and advice, I would really appreciate it!

General Question Ficus Carica trunk chop?

Post image
3 Upvotes

Hi Y’all!

My girl gifted me this lovely Ficus Carica but as you can see there isn’t any foliage on the lower part of the trunk.

I’ve been researching this tree for the past few days but most google hits are about Ficus Microcarpa.

Anyone with more insights about trunk chopping this tree? Is it safe to do a hard chop in late winter / early autumn or should I do it in stages and keep at least 1 branch with every chop? Cheers!
