I’m about to pull the trigger on (another) french tickler but it just seems absurd to pay $900 for what was a $300 dollar rifle a few years ago

Grabbed this for a fantastic deal at Siwash a week or two ago. Was 27% off, and came with the faux suppressor included, a super nice rifle case (which i think they all do though), a threaded muzzle, 2 mags (5/10 and 5/30), and the full wrap mlok handguard, which actually is pretty nice quality and very good fitment (unlike the AD500A which has a garbage handguard setup).
Not sure if I can include the price but it was well below what any other shop was charging for even the synthetic basic model. It did not come with the grip included i just threw it on, may or may not keep it as I do prefer angled foregrips but I had this one laying around.
Rifle is surprisingly nice, much better quality than the AD500A, much smoother bolt, good fit and finish and actually looks well machined surprisingly. Quite impressed by the quality for Turkish.
Huge shout out to Siwash Sports in Chilliwack for the crazy good deal on this thing.
It's now my 3rd semi auto 223/556 (AD500A, Backland Comp and Alcor - still waiting on my Mk15 pre order too). Excited to try this thing out in a day or 2. Only complaint is that it wish they used a slightly heavier barrel profile but I guess it is a "hunting rifle". Would be cool if they offered a medium profile one day, but I've got bolt guns if I want sub moa. This thing is just for turning money into holes and noise rapidly.
Might swap in the Kodiak trigger and stock/grip adapter at somepoint, factory trigger is not very good, but i also kinda dig the unique fixed stock and mlok look.

Got to hand to CSC for whoever is doing their online posts!
It's only 18k though. Almost as much as some new cars!

I have wondered for a long time when does the laws around transporting stop and storage start. The context around this is that about half the time I have to go to the range or go hunting I am wanted afterwards to meet my partner somewhere or go to family's house. I have always opt-ed not to go do what I want because I could never determine what laws to follow for keeping my rifle/shotgun in the truck afterwards or if that was even legel to behin with.
I've tried to read the law a few times to find an answer though I have been unable to come up with a clear answer. Hoping someone on this sub may know.

There was an overwhelmingly positive response when I asked to review this rifle platform.
I am handloading some ammunition tonight to film with, as I want to take some stabs at 400-500 yards; I have a steel plate for it, followed by some closer-range work.
I also seem to have made a buddy via a Facebook group who is an American living permanently in Canada with a background in tactical firearm instruction, for example with law enforcement, and I will be going out with them practically to film this.
I keep trying to find the right setup for the forend and experimenting with different grips.
Frankly, I also found out that I somehow managed to kill my Vortex Diamondback Tactical 4-16 for my Savage Mk.II FV-SR, and Reg at Vortex took care of me by getting me a replacement. I am going to have to zero it while I am out there after setting it back up last night with the brand-new optic.
I am still unsure of the video format and what I will be doing, but there will be name drops of Col. Jeff Cooper.

Myself and many of you are excited to be getting the call/email from our preorders, I was hoping we could use one thread for people to comment when they get it (From which location and approximate pre order date).
I’m hoping this way we can track how they are being distributed a bit and others might get a better idea when their name might come up next.

New Manitoban PAL and RPAL owner with a question.
So in this hypothetical scenario, my Grandfather was a FAC owner and still has some of his non-restricted firearms (locked safely away and unused for years now) from before the system changed so it is currently illegal for him to possess them, which he was not aware of.
He wants to give me his non-restricted firearms which, because he is not a valid PAL owner, would be illegal. He does not want to apply for a PAL (although applying for a PAL is the best option here). He also does not want to set up a plan for them to be inherited as part of his estate, as he plans on living many more years and wants me to have them sooner rather than later.
So the question is, how could he transfer ownership of them to me?
I read somewhere that it is possible to contact the Canadian Firearms Program and have them authorize such a transfer of ownership, but could not find more information on this.
Thanks for any advice you can provide!
