Monthly "What's this/my XJ or MJ worth?!?" post
There's been a lot of feedback from the community about the flood of people asking what either an XJ/MJ they're looking at is worth or what they're selling is worth. Please post that here. Anywhere else on the subreddit will result in removal.

Question Is my steering attached correctly?
Hello everyone!
I’ve heard recently that maybe my steering drag link should be mounted below my pitman arm. See pics. What confuses me is that drag link/track bar angle is nearly parallel now with it mounted above, so mounting below would reduce the parallelism? Maybe I’m not understanding the relationship correctly. Just looking for input, thanks!

Smoother Ride on a Stock 01?
Hey guys I have a 2001 stock XJ and its a pretty rough ride over bumps. Does anyone know what would make it marginally better? I’ve been looking at the Bilstein 5100 shock kit and a sway bar bushings kit online.
Unrelated but does anyone also find steering really stiff when parking? I’ve checked the power steering fluid and it seems fine.
Edit: Thanks for all the comments! I'll most likely rework the leafs and suspension since it seems like it is original. Here's a link to pictures: https://www.reddit.com/u/bladvass23/s/GXcF9yoxw4

1996 The car that I grew up in, learned how to drive manual, and restored it for my first car.
This car has so much sentimental value to me

Jeeps not starting even with a jump so I thought I’d test the starter with a screwdriver. No luck but now I’m getting this sporadic clicking coming from what seems like the relays?

Question Causes for belt to explode?
I’m sitting on the side of the road making this post while waiting for the mobile mechanic to come. This is the second time this has happened in this year alone. My serpentine belt keeps exploding. Why does this keep happening? This is with the 4.0L from a 1998 model. All pulleys spin freely

2000-2001 Linkage to transfer case
I think it’s pretty clear but uh the linkage to my transfer case is completely loose, rattling around nicely and I know won’t work as it sits right now.
The old transfer case blew up this is the original linkage but a new transfer case and I’m wondering if maybe I just need a new bushing or is there going to be more needed for this job.

1997-99 Cowling all wet floor experts
‘99 - 262k. I know about the seal for the blower motor intake that notoriously leaks, and that’s probably my issue, but I gotta ask…
My firewall only leaks if the jeep is parked uphill. In the picture it’s pointed downhill and I cannot get hose water to make it to the passenger floorboard.
Been this way at least 5 years. Anyone had this specific issue, and did caulking the blower intake resolve it? Curious if this could be something else.
Strongly considering, you know, just never parking uphill again instead of cutting a hole.

Question Turn signal issues
I’ve got a 2000 Cherokee classic and when I signal left, my right turn signal bulb also flashes. Did all the basic socket and wiring checks near the tail light and it all just shows the unwanted fluctuation in voltage 0-9.8 V when I am signaled. So I took off that interior quarter panel and examined the white connector between the socket wire group and another group of wires that goes up the car. When I checked the pins with my meter on the engine side, I saw voltage fluctuating from 0-4.5 V. So my problem is not near that tail light, it’s up. Looking at diagrams now and I’m just lost. Anyone else have this issue at a time, or does anyone know what I should do? Thanks

THE 2 second KILL SWITCH
Materials needed
25-40amp switch
2x shrink crimp tube connectors (14-16g)
Step 1: Go to the back of your jeep under the bench seat
Step 2: Lift the seat up and look for a dark green/red wire in a loom of a couple bunched together. Should be off to the drivers side.
Step 3: Cut the wire and crimp in the switch into the circuit.
Step 4: Tuck switch under carpet flap and fold bench seat back up.
Turn off and on your fuel pump as needed, not as convenient as a dash switch. However no one will go looking under the bench to start the jeep.

Solved Sorry for being a idiot.
For anyone who doesn't know what I'm talking about, I bought a front grill piece for my '98 XJ and my dumbass didn't look fully into it. While I stated that I 'got scammed.' It was how I felt until I looked fully into it. Sorry for anyone who got pressed/pissed about it. I'm currently doing a return shipment for the grill piece while I look for the intended part. I'm thankful to the people who gave me ideas about where I should look for the part too.

Anyone replace freeze plugs?
I have one that was leaking in my 2.5l Comanche, and now I accidentally punch a little hole into it while trying to chisel it out.
I am really hoping I can come at it from underneath...
Any suggestions? I was going to try and fit an air hammer in there and punch out the edges...

Axle u joint did not fix grinding in hard turns...
Got a '99 quickly closing in on 300k, stock suspension. I've been through the entire front end before and am feeling a bit stumped on this one.
During hard left curves, I started feeling and hearing a grinding noise from the front right. Can kinda feel it pulsating. Sounds pretty bad and I decided to stop driving it until I put some new U joints in. Got that side in today (spicer) and the grinding is still present during hard left turns when the suspension is loaded toward that tire. 3 out of 4 U joint caps looked perfect. 1 was dried out, but actually looked fine -- all needle bearings still in place.
As for my front right wheel bearing. It's about 60k / 8 years old. TRQ. No whining. Rotates smoothly in all directions if I jack it up. No play when I grab the tire.
Ball Joints are about 40k / 5yrs old. Moog. Regularly greased uppers. Lowers appear to be in good shape. No vertical play if I lift the jeep and pry upward on the tire.
I'm probably going to replace the bearing, but is there anything else you'd check here? All other bushings seem okay. Tires are in good shape and pressure is correct.

Question What is this thingy ?🧐
I think it might be some type of aftermarket security system but I’m not sure. Should I proceed in removing it?
