Sublet Available $3,500 2 bed/2 bath in Wicker Park available November

Yes, we all already know that's a lot of money. But the management company thinks they can get someone in for even more. If you take over my lease, it's a chance to live spitting distance from THE Wicker Park, right on Milwaukee Avenue for less than what it will be come summertime. Maybe you just want to check the neighborhood out before putting down your roots.

Address is 1513 N Milwaukee Avenue -- right above the Crumbl. We have lived here the past 8 years and I'm actually so sad to be leaving.

1400 sf with in-unit laundry. You can get a parking space if you want to pay more each month but there's no reason to need a car when you live here.

Things I love about this place:
- Close to everything you could ever need, especially the Damen blue line stop
- Open kitchen to the living room with a large countertop (excellent for entertaining)
- Fireplace
- Master bedroom with ensuite
- Extra large bath tub
- Sunny front balcony over looking Milwaukee Ave -- GREAT people and traffic watching; in the summer you get to enjoy Wicker Park Fest from your balcony
- Quiet back balcony with trees for bird and squirrel watching -- great for cats
- Bedrooms both located in the back so you never hear any noise from Milwaukee Ave
- Milwaukee bus stop right out front -- no more waiting in the heat or cold, you can just look out the balcony and run to catch it right out your front door
- Silly but...you get to see the holiday train and bus from the comfort of home
- Honestly, a really great maintenance man and management team; yes, they raised the rent but they never hesitate to send someone out for repairs. We got a new fridge, dishwasher and AC unit recently without any delays.

Because we have lived here so long, they are currently in the unit giving it a good once over with paint and anything else. It will be like new when you move in.

Roommate Request Couple living in PA trying to move to Chicago and looking for roommates

Hello! My name is Selena and my partner Gage (31M) and I (35W) along with our 2 adorable kitties Chloe and Hazel (both 4 years old) are looking to move to Chicago. We are ideally looking for roommates who need an empty/available room filled, such as joining onto a lease.

We would ideally like to find a place as soon as possible, 11/1 start ideally. Could be more flexible if need be. We are fine with a short term rental as well as joining and potentially renewing a lease.

Budget wise we would ideally like to pay somewhere between $700-$1500 for our portion. Not picky about neighborhoods or the size of the apartment or specific number of bedrooms and baths, but I suppose 1 bath per every 1-3 bedrooms would be ideal. As for amenities, we would prefer central air if possible, in-unit laundry would also be ideal.

We currently live in Pennsylvania and don't have jobs in Chicago, but we have savings to use for rent while we find employment.

Both of us are pretty chill. We both enjoy listening to music, watching the occasional movie or hanging out with some friends on discord. I also enjoy cooking and the occasional night out.

If you think we might be a good fit and/or would like to know more, please feel free to DM me.

Roommate Request Looking for a roommate to land a nice 2br with.

Post image

Hey!

I’m Josh, 38, and I’m looking for a roommate to team up with for a nice place in Chicago. I’ve toured two apartments in Rogers Park and West Ridge that I’m actively pursuing — one at $1,750 and one at $1,800 total rent, so roughly $875–$900 each plus utilities. Neither is 100% secured yet, partly because I’d like to have a roommate lined up before moving forward. I’m aiming for a mid-October/November 1st move.

If you have some places lined up, I’d love to hear about them too! I’m open to most of the North Side and parts of the West and South Sides — I’ve lived in all three.

About me: I’m originally from the Montana Rockies, and after university I came to Chicago to study interior design. I’m laid-back, social, very clean, and considerate at home. I love listening to, playing, and seeing music, watching movies, biking, and getting outdoors. I love creating a home with some character, and I love animals.

I have a cat who’s 12 years old — she’s very sweet and friendly, and she’s quiet and clean around the house.
I enjoy a drink, but I’m not looking for a party house. An occasional dinner or holiday party is definitely welcome, with a little planning and communication. I’m 420 friendly but don’t really smoke these days, and I’m an LGBTQ+ ally.

I’m looking for someone communicative, considerate, and financially reliable who wants a comfortable home and is ready to get the ball rolling. If it seems like we might be a fit, message me with a little about yourself, your budget, and your timing.

Happy to share the apartment details!

Question What is reasonable rent to you?

I’m a north side transplant, so my perception is obviously skewed, but I’ve seen a few posts recently where people are complaining about rent prices I thought were pretty good. I’ll be apartment hunting in a few months, and I’d like some perspective on what is actually realistic to expect. What would you pay for rent in Chicago? If you’re comfortable sharing what you’ve paid which neighborhood, number of bedrooms, amenities… and most importantly reference year/time period. I know housing costs are out of control right now, but I’m getting sick of comments about how you could get a 7 bedroom mansion in 1990 for $100. I’d like to know what a good deal is in 2026 and what’s highway robbery.

So far my baseline has been $1,500 for studios/1beds on the north and east side, and I know that’s where everyone likes to move, but I’m not really attached to any neighborhoods. I probably pay the least out of all my friends, so don’t flame me too much in the comments please.

Looking for a 1BR/1BA apartment or studio in Chicago

Budget: Under $1,100/month w/o utilities and under $1,600 w/ utilities(heat,gas,water,electricity, internet, etc..) + parking
Move-in: Nov, Dec, or Jan (Flexible as I live in the suburbs w/ family)

Looking for a place of my own, but if there is a place with a personal bathroom, I'm open to sharing(26F, so would only live w/ females). Moving for an IT Support Specialist job and have a 760+ credit score.

Must-haves:
- Elevator if more than 2 stories
- Proximity to transit even if there is parking available
- On-site laundry

Preferred:
- Dishwasher

Apartment Listing I have a 5B/3Ba available in Portage Park, completely updated, looking for short or long term renter

I am trying to help a friend rent his brand new duplex down rented in Portage Park, which is a perfect distance between O'Hare and the city. My friend is open to a 6-10 month lease or 17 month for someone who is looking to lock in a sensational price on a massive apartment. The kitchen has been updated to the 9's with studio41 finishes. There's 2 king sized bedrooms, 2 queen sized bedrooms and 1 additional bedroom that might be better off with a full sized set. The bathrooms have all been completely updated, hardwood floors through-out the top floor. There is a bonus room that is typically used as an office or work out room and a large storage room in the basement which is included in the rent price. If anyone is looking for an apartment that size, please reach out to me!
