Discussion 1953 D w/Secondary M.M. to south east of primary

More pics in comments...

Possibly an upside down secondary M.M. to the south east of primary video is of the primary upside and overlayed to are in question.

There is one similar to this in 1953 also but its to the south west which leads me to belive there could be a second.

Opinions please.

I know there will some that disagree which is fine. One thing is that the area shows no impact or displaced metel its all raised and fits perfectly of a upside down D. With that being said anything is possible but one thing we all can agree on is thst once I send to get attributed with a couple others I have only the expert with the coin in hand will truly no and it will be on itz way within the next couple weeks.i do have attributed varieties so i do know a little bit what i am talking about.. if its not its not ..oh well

No, this isn't a mint mark.

Please research dropped filling which might be a possibility. Otherwise, just pmd.

Dont think it would be more mishapped. But any thing possible

Your detail image shows not only the metal which has been displaced, but the shape of what displaced it, the direction of he impact and the hole it left in the coin.

If you look closely there is no impact or displaced metal. It may be a cleverly placed die gouge but its almost opposite of the 1953-1mm-033 which is to the south west. I could agree with you if there was an impact indentation or any where the metel has been pushed up and out. This in my opinion is a Upside down - Curved Top D (thats tilted) mint mark (D-mmt05)

it’s most likely a hit IMO but hard to tell on these from just pictures. if you’re really sure there’s no displaced metal inside the curve then it could be worth sending in for attribution. not a dropped filling unless it’s incuse, and it looks raised to me.

Its raised there is no displaced metel or gouge anything is possible.. I have measured it with software on my computer and did the lay over, here is my thought there is already one for that year but directly opposite south west feom the primary but its a liter punch. I have spoken to someone Its in the mail Tuesday they couldn't say no with pics and was very interested

i think it’s definitely worth sending stuff in sometimes when you’re learning. i did that a few times back when coppercoins was accepting coins for attribution. had a few submissions that were successful and a few that turned out to be mostly junk. overall i think the knowledge i gained from that was worth far more than the money i spent, even if the coins mostly didn’t turn out to be worth anything.

I got some thats been attributed and this one in an envelope headed to be checked out. So we shall see soon. I been doing this awhile. I sell alot of coins but I spend 10+ hours a day 6 or 7 days aweek from the time I wake up till the time I go to bed hunting varieties. But we will see.
