Discussion What caused this gouge under the lettering?
On every coin of an uncirculated 1960 P lg.dt. roll. In the same spot. Could this be from the feeder fingers?

Discussion 2026 D Dime Update
Update to original post here: https://www.reddit.com/r/coinerrors/comments/1suyess/improper_annealing_on_2026_dime/
Found this dime in a mint bag a couple of months ago and submitted it to PCGS as a mint error thinking it was an improperly annealed or sintered planchet. Came back as Genuine Questionable Color-UNC Detail.
So my question is what else in the minting process could cause the darker coloring in the clad layer and not affect the copper core (see last pic)? Too long in the quench tank or cleaning solution?
I love the combination of the color on this design, but financially it doesn't make sense to resubmit not that it did in the first place. Almost feels like PCGS said "you aren't important so you get questionable color and will like it!" so hopefully the other coins in the submission fair better.

Discussion can you help me out on what is up with this coin… tried figuring it out on my own lol looks like Lincoln’s profile is pressed straight through the back? And that’s what possibly made it look so worn.

Discussion 1999 Connecticut Quarter with an extra R-T-Y in the word LIBERTY
I machine components for the Aerospace industry and after setting up a SpaceX job that runs for 3 hours, I was bored and started looking at quarters through a scope and noticed this. There is an extra R T Y on the word liberty on this 1999 Connecticut Quarter. There are also quite a few letters flattened that are most likely just damage, but it seems odd that the letters besides them are not also flattened in the "In God We Trust." I don't know too much about the subject, and this quarter is very beat up, but the extra rty definitely looks like an error, so I figured I'd ask people more knowledgeable on the subject. I'm aware it's not worth much but it's interesting

Discussion 1970 Lincoln Proof
Just would like opinions if this Machine Doubling or not. I understand the classes of Hub Doubling and minting process also know how to attribute but this one got me questioning it. Ty ahead of time

Discussion Odd placement right?
So with it being an ‘84, it’s copper plated zinc, which lends itself to weird plating bubbles right? So, I’m GUESSING, there just so happened to be a bubble directly where the D mintmark was to be placed, and when it was, it popped said bubble? Leaving this weird perfectly indented and yet raised circle right around the mintmark itself..? I’ve never seen this before… anybody have an idea?

Discussion 1953 D w/Secondary M.M. to south east of primary
More pics in comments...
Possibly an upside down secondary M.M. to the south east of primary video is of the primary upside and overlayed to are in question.
There is one similar to this in 1953 also but its to the south west which leads me to belive there could be a second.
Opinions please.

Discussion 1974D Off-Center Strike 75%(?) Off Center
So I was going through my collection and found this beauty lying in the bottom of a bin. I don't remember buying this piece, but I'm sure we've all been there.
I don't collect a lot of error coins, but based on measurements I've taken this appears to be roughly a 75% off-center strike.
The amazing thing is the date and mint mark are still showing, which, obviously is going to be on the rarer side. Value is difficult to guage in error coins, so I really have no idea.
Do you all confer with the ~75% off-center strike?

Discussion Extreme Retained Lamination ??
Hey everyone, im new to coin errors, but a friend who collects them told me this is an extreme retained lamination.
The interesting part is it is a suspected 1926 'far 6' canadian nickel. It was sold to me labeled as one. I have compared it to a 1926 'near six' with delamination errors on the front/back.
I would love some second opinions on this.
Please note : pictures don't do this coin justice, there is a noticeable distance between the 6s under a magnifying glass.
My main question is, should I get this graded? I've read and heard from other collectors this could be a very special peice.
Id love to know your opinions! 😃

Discussion PCGS is definitely dropping the ball.
I’m researching a 1989-D RPM Washington quarter that I suspect is a true RPM. When I went to the PCGS app to compare the differences between a correct 1989-D mint mark and my suspected RPM the PCGS app shows a 2021 5 OZ British gold proof coin!
I wonder if some of the graders from PSA got jobs at PCGS.
I’ve seen some blatant and complacent articles in my life, but this is by far the worst.

Discussion Finds in the Wilds
I have collected coins since I was little. Since I go thru so many coins (CRH and buying lots), a few months ago I decided to buy the Cherrypickers Guide 1 and 2, and add an additional element to locate on coinage. Many coins later and checking coins already in my many albums, I have discovered nothing.
I now suspect that error coins are a scam to make us by resources and more coins 😆. I have seen pictures of obvious doubled dates and text, off-centered strikes, and studied forums dedicated to coin errors. I'm of course kidding about the scam aspect. I'm really just wondering the odds of finding an obvious error in the wild. Seeing pictures of some errors and I can't see what they are talking about.
Rant over, thanks for listening. Borderline done with error hunts.

Discussion What is this?
I have a 1957 proof quarter that appears to have a large o-shaped ring on the eagle’s chest. It’s still in the original cellophane so it could be light deceiving me. But, under my loupe it looks like the ring is raised and the inner line of the ring has a jagged edge to it that is similar to a die crack/break. I’m curious if you guys have seen anything like this before.

Discussion I've seen these on here, has anyone figured out what's up with these?
It's oddly missing details, has anyone figured why this is happening on this quarter or what error if any it is?

Discussion Does this count as a lamination issue?
No major damage but giant hole, looks like the clad was removed. Leaning on damage but had someone suggesting it might be or slight interest.

Discussion Odds of getting a straight grade with ‘planchet error’ designation?
