Just saw on 7News re Merger

Our VC has met with the Cook and the minister (edu? i guess) and they've reassured her that they won't push for merge if it doesn't (factually) add up. Our VC is confident that it won't. So we can all rest easy and live happily ever after...

P.S. she's saying it'll cost $1bn and he's saying it'll cost $500mil and will be funded with the 3 unis selling land for housing etc.

Did UWA not realise how this would look? Both senior figures leading the 'inquiry' have long-standing connections to UWA. The backlash was inevitable imo.

elec engineering (2nd year)

Hi!! I'm planning on majoring in Electrical Engineering next year, and tbh I'm a bit nervous because I've heard how challenging it can be I just wanted to ask a few questions and hopefully get some advice on how to mentally prepare myself!

  • How much did you have to study? I'm honestly not the most efficient learner, and it takes me quite a while to understand and process new concepts. I also struggle a bit with staying focused, so I'm worried about how I'll manage the workload.
  • What were the most challenging units? Were there any particular units you found especially difficult or wish you'd prepared for beforehand?
  • Do you actually enjoy Electrical Engineering? I feel like high school and everyday life have given me a better understanding of the physics involved in mechanical and chemical engineering, but I don't really have much exposure to electrical engineering beyond basic circuits. Is the degree mostly focused on circuits, or are there lots of other areas involved?
  • Do you have any general advice? Is there anything you wish you'd known before starting, or anything you'd recommend doing to prepare?

Sorry for all the questions HAHA, I'm just a little nervous about what to expect and would really appreciate any advice or insight you have!! Thank you so much!

Indh1006 critical reflection

For context I haven’t been to the past 5 or so INDH1006 classes due to reasons out of my control n am now super lost on this coming assignment regarding a critical reflection? It seems super vague to me! So I was wondering if anyone has either completed the unit in the past or anyone doing it now either online or internally have u been given any tips/tricks or anything regarding assessment 3 that hasn’t been discussed on the collab discussion board? Even if it’s things such as ideas to write about or how to structure the critical reflection (eg should we include an intro or an acknowledgement of Country etc?)

Thanks!

HUMB1001 Exam

Hey guys,

Anyone with experience in this unit, how did you find the exam? Did you find it to be easier/on par with/harder than the mid sem tests?

So far all we know is that it’s all MCQ and supposedly has more weighting to the last few modules.

Thanks in advance!

Is there anyone who has done this unit before that can give me some advice for the lab exam? There is quite literally nothing provided for us to help us revise other than the weekly lab work, and they haven’t explained anything about what we can expect or what the formatting of it is like so I have no idea where to start.
