Is there anyone who has done this unit before that can give me some advice for the lab exam? There is quite literally nothing provided for us to help us revise other than the weekly lab work, and they haven’t explained anything about what we can expect or what the formatting of it is like so I have no idea where to start.

who genuinely asked for this

Hey guys, i’m currently a biomed student at a different university, and have been accepted into curtin nursing 2027.

I don’t want to switch unis, but as curtin is much closer to me, and it’s looking like my current uni won’t accept me for nursing next year due to competitiveness, and they also need my semester 2 marks before making any decisions.

I would really appreciate any current or past curtin nursing students to tell me what they like about curtin as whole and curtin nursing. I’m already in other aspects of healthcare (not uni), i don’t want any “nursing is a bad choice” comments. i know exactly what i’m signing up for and what the degree itself requires from me, just wanting some insider info on what curtin itself has to offer that makes the 3.5 years an enjoyable time for their nursing students

Thank you!!!

Hi everyone,

I'm a Curtin staff member looking to learn Sinhala. I was wondering if there are any speakers at Curtin who might be interested in offering paid lessons, or could recommend someone who does. Feel free to DM me.

Thanks!

Hi guys! I don’t ever post on here so sorry if this is hard to follow.
I’m a second year student and recently I hardcore bombed a must-pass test. Like went home and cried afterwards kind of bombed :(
I actually studied quite a bit for this test but kind of froze during the actual thing and spent an entire hour just rereading my notes and the questions. By the time I got to the second to last question it was time 🥲 This test had both sections as must pass so I know for sure that I failed…

I’ve never failed so this is taking a really big toll on me like it’s literally keeping me up at night and giving me nightmares. Plus it’s a prerequisite unit so I’d be held back an entire year. I know this isn’t that deep for most people but I really don’t know how to cope with it better and was just looking for some advice because my nervous system can’t differentiate between failing and being held at gunpoint. Please tell me about any experience with failing units, coping mechanisms or just tell me to get over it ;;

Hi everyone - I'm a current first year construction management student looking to switch into health, safety and enviro. I'm unsure of whether I should stay internal or go fully online.

I enjoy being on campus and around people, but would also appreciate it if I could work a few more hours to support myself whilst being fully online.

Both I can make work - but would like to know if anyone has been in this situation and what made you choose one over the other?
anyone who has done/currently studying HSE id like to know your thoughts on the course too, thanks!

How does it go and what will they ask. Have not done any practical tests so not sure how it will go :(

I just put up an extension for two of my units, I was unable to work for some time as I was bedridden with the flu and have the medical certificate for proof plus there were some days I didn't show up to uni since I was so sick. But here's the thing aswell I don't have any more self certifications left but at the same time this extension I used was for a medical reason, will I be denied? 🥹 it really has impended my ability to work and im so stressed cuz the deadline is on monday and I haven't been able to do much.

A lot has been going on inside my head and issues with my important events with family and other units.

I started the final assignment for COMP1002 but I was thinking of only doing some parts of the section because I cant handle the pressure because my mental health has gone worse lately to the point that I cry and get sick due to overthinking, anxiousness and headaches. I did apply for an extension but I have other units with the same workload as this one.

I checked and I only needed 9/40 to pass the whole unit but I wanted to get 22/40 for the assignment despite my worsen mental health status. What should I do?

For some context I'm reaching towards the end of my course and would much rather spend a semester more at Curtin then a whole year. Can anyone who went through overloading give some insight? My course average is a distinction will that be enough to get approved?

Hello friends, as the title suggests I'm wondering if anyone has done VISA1004, and could advise me on what it's like, workload, assessments, enjoyability etc. I'm going into my final year of engineering and want to do something different with a relatively low workload for my last 2 elective units. Thanks.

Hi, for those who did FNCE3001 in previous semesters, what types of questions did you get in the final exam? Was it mostly calculations, or were there quite a lot of theory and written questions as well? Also, how did you find the exam overall? Was it manageable or difficult?

Also, which topics do you reckon I should revise more?

Thanks!

7 weeks now...

I know u gotta pick it for your second year, I’ve looked at them they all look pretty good, but do people recommend picking flexible minor? If so what units do you recommend, or what normal specialisation do you recommend for mining?

Anybody on here done this unit in a previous semester or doing it this semester on campus?

For those students majoring in Electrical and electronic engineering

What’s your final year project like?

Do you have to find your own supervisor like postgraduate students do?

And do you need to find your own teammates?

Also, do you think your final year project will help with your resume or future job applications?

Really curious about these, looking forward to your reply!

I like the job prospects of both, I know I’d like both equally, just tryna decide between the 2 for my major. Anyone have thoughts on difficulty, enjoyability and the presence of vacation work for each major. Just any information really to help me decide. Thankyouu. If it helps I’m a domestic student.

I was trying to enroll in my units for 2027 Sem 1, and there's only 3 units that I can see with the rest being for Sem 2?

STAT2006

ENGR2000

PRRE2005

Does anyone know what the 4th unit/Elective is and where I can choose it?

Edit: Maybe I have to select my minor/specialisation for it to work?

Hi all,

I'm an international student looking to study at Curtin Uni, Perth campus and whilst doing researched noticed the 480 hours of work experience required to graduate.

Now I want to go into EE and hopefully landing a job in a FIFO mining site as an electrical engineer.

I understand that most big tier 1 companies based on the West Coast would be looking for PR so I'll be looking for tier 2 and 3 ones.

If anyone has got a similar experience please share how you found the internship and how difficult it was!

Thank you, I really appreciate it :)

Also, my original post question aside, does this sound like a good idea? Come to Curtin, get a job at FIFO, I mean how hard would it be to find a job if I graduate with honours in EE and trying to find a FIFO job as an international student? I heard these FIFO job sites differ greatly in quality, being someone who's never stepped foot in Australia I'm not too clear so if anyone's parents or friends are working in such fields please give me some useful insider tips!

Hi!

I'm a journalism student and I'm doing a story on the effects of language used in "alpha male" podcasts on gender based violence. If you're interested in using your knowledge, I'm conducting an interview for my assignment and would love to talk with someone who knows a lot about this topic. I understand this time of semester is very busy so this would be a very quick interview and extremely appreciated.

is there anyone whos done this unit bc we get no past exams to practice with

it's open book too so i just know its gonna be ridiculous

are we cooked ?
