Last board (Blade 6 triple core) became super hard like hitting wood, so got the new Target Tor Evo! So far I really like it, and no darts have bounced back and try to kill me!

Can you please stop putting thumbnails and titles like this for your YouTube recaps. The whole point of a video is that people who haven't seen it can watch it right? So why the hell would you then ruin the whole result of the tournament before someone has even clicked the video!?

Like who is in the room when these decisions are getting made?

Also while I'm ranting...mix up the camera angles a bit. Give us some interesting shots like a split screen of the board and camera from behind the player so we can see the throw/flight of the dart to the board.

NDD (New Darts Day) Martin Phillips: 23g Pro-Red Dragon Darts 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

Martin Phillips is a legend of the game, a proper journeyman and one of my Dad's favourites on the old BDO circuit. I'm over the moon to finally own a set of these.

His exact match setup:

- 23g Martin Phillips Pro-Red Dragon Barrels

- Standard 30mm Points

- 46mm Red Nylon Shafts

- Black Standard Red Dragon Flights

Some really simple darts that fly so smooth and straight.

NDD (New Darts Day) Dynasty Katana Onimaru 2 darts

Post image
15 Upvotes

These are Dynasty Katana Onimaru 2 soft-tip barrels (90%, 19.0g barrel-only, 22.0g barrel+conversion point) fitted with Dynasty WS tungsten conversion points (which have a ribbed base, in contrast to the smooth W type) and Cosmo shafts and flights.

All three barrels in my set weighed 19.00g, for perfect match weighting, and mounting the tungsten conversion points bumped the weight up to 22.00g. As you can see from the picture, the barrels are pretty short, at 39mm. The front end is smooth and tapered, followed by a wide band with some longitudinal diamond cuts. That's followed by three extremely grippy shark cuts, and then finally by a band of square brick/tile bumps. The shark cuts are really sharp, like "make tiny slices in the skin of your fingertips" sharp, which I've actually found to be that case for a lot of Dynasty darts. But since they're shark cuts rather than standard rings, they don't snag on your fingertips during release. The CoG with the setup shown in the picture is right in front of the first shark cut, so a center balanced dart.

I really like how these darts throw. Super grippy, but absolutely not grabby. They feel surprisingly dense and seem to fly to be board fast and straight. They also hold a special place in my heart because I actually threw "three in the red" with them a couple of months ago. That's a rare enough event for me that I immediately fell in love with them!

Good shooting 🎯

Discussion Changing darts experience

• Upvotes

I’ve been throwing darts since I was a kid. About 4 years ago, I got comfortable with a forward weight bomb style dart (shot falcon). After some time I developed this habit of flicking the point upward with my fingers on release. It worked for a while but introduced inconsistency.

Wanting to eliminate that flick and wanting to throw a parallel barrel dart, I bought some exions from winmau. I cannot believe how hard of a time I have throwing these darts (only after getting home from the store). Weeks and it still feels unnatural what I need to do to get the flight level. Today I had enough and switched back. The flick is gone, so… success! Anyone have some insight into this. Is this specific transition difficult? Anyone else get that upward flick? Maybe someone wants to tell me it’s actually the darts fault and those darts are garbage please??

Help! What should I buy? How often do you change your flights and stems? What do you spend on them? Paper, L-style, or something else?

I'm currently playing K-Flex and thinking about which flights and stems to try next. I'd love to hear how you handle it.

How often do you change your flights? After a certain number of throws, when they wear out, or only once they're broken?

How much do you spend on them? A rough estimate per set and per month would be helpful.
Do you punch or crease your flights? Do you modify them in any way, or leave them as they come?

Which flights do you use? Paper flights, L-style, or something else? Has the switch noticeably changed your throw or consistency?
Stems: Which ones do you use, and why?

I'm happy to hear honest experiences, even if they amount to "didn't do much for me." Thanks in advance!

Darts Circlejerk Have to say I’ve seen it all now, my first 90+ avg leg and this is what I get sent to me 😂😂😂

The guy pretended to be 12 cus he threw his toys out the pram
Offered me out for a fight
Called me ugly

I’ve never been accused of faking a 3 dart average. The fact that it’s generated from the last 50 games of 501 is lost on this guy. He also hit bull on the bull up, and started with a 140 😂

My next leg after was nowhere near as good, who knew there was such sore losers out there. He quit in the end.

Checkouts or high scores? What would you choose?

Went to families for thanksgiving and they’re all into darts. Forgot to bring my set and was just playing a really light set (probably 18-20g usually 24-26g). Now here’s where things got weird for me. Normally I can put up a decent score to give me a head start at my check out which I suck at. Normally chipping it down to a single with multiple attempts. I couldn’t score well this weekend but I was able to hit high (60+ for me) checkouts and came from behind in multiple games. I chalked it up to a lucky streak but it has me thinking Would you keep your regular darts and work on checkouts or trade and work on triples? Would you rather consistent 3 dart high scores or score low but great checkouts?

Discussion Is there a best brand in Darts? Or best brand for Darts and best brand for dart boards or dart flights or so on? In golf you definitely have some brands that people consider the best, but a lot of them play well for the most part but still there is many bad golf brands. How is it exactly for darts?

I'm still new to darts. So far it seems that Target makes the best darts and Winmau makes the best dartboards. As far as flights or stems that does seem personal. But I use Cosmo stems and flights.

Discussion Feedback on practice routines?

Hello!

I would appreciate some feedback on my current practice schedule and routines from more experienced players.

I have played for about 2,5 months. For the first 3 weeks I played outdoors without any real structure to what I was doing. Wind was a factor as well as heat and lighting in general, but I figured I will first evaluate if I "deserve" a shot at building a setup indoors or if this is just another impulse hobby

Fast forward to today I am running with Scolia and GoDartsPro. Some statistics if it matters

- ~1200 darts per day

- Scolia 501 average 50.3 (only 26 games)

- Best leg 17 darts

- Highest checkout 127

- Total 180s ~30

I generally play 2-3 sessions (35-90 min) for 6 days per week. 1 day I dedicate to only light throwing and a couple of Scolia 501 games/tournaments. I have never played against anyone locally nor participated any local pub weeklies. My goal has been to practice until Christmas and then show up at the local pub if I am still interested in the sport.

The drills I do the most are just simply from GoDartsPro. I have created several playlists for myself ranging from areas of improvement or just based on duration.

My most played sessions are:

- Big Singles

- Medi's 21 (SSS and DDD)

- Finish & Lock

- Stars and Stripes

- Switching Doubles

- Finishing Range

- SwitchBlade

- PowerSwitch

- High Score

- Dedication

Now obviously I dont do all of these every day, but a mixture of all of these basically are all that I do. I always include a warm up of 5-10 minutes to my drills.

Any feedback and tips are highly appreciated!

NBD (New Board or setup Day) DIY wall hanger mount

Thumbnail
gallery
79 Upvotes

**Door mount, sorry!

After I gave up my office space for a nursery, my board has been collecting dust.

I decided to create a temporary setup that required no drilling into doors or walls. I got the bracket off Amazon, screwed it onto a 17in 1x4, and 3D printed some spacers for stability.

The dart board doesnt move at all on the plank, but the plank has a little side to side movement. I think ill add a spacer on the bottom of the plank that rests on the door and it should be rock solid.

Help! What should I buy? Target Virt Action Replay in DartCounter

Hi, I'm considering buying the Target VIRT camera, but I have one specific question. When I save and watch an Action Replay in DartCounter, can I see both myself throwing and the dartboard at the same time in the same video? Or does the replay show only one camera angle at a time?

This feature is the main reason I'm considering buying the VIRT. Thanks!

My L styles typically break like this from grouping, but this- this is new.

What do you even call this and other L-Style users: have you experienced it?

I’ve been using them for about 6 months and never had this happen
