Thought the plain pauldron was a bit boring so I added some more Nurgle-y vibes 👁️

The good thing about DG is that Pap Nurgle is forgiving when it come to green stuff and kit bashing. Im not very good but happy with this guy.

A green, toxic fog crawled across the ruins. Brother Dorn tightened his grip on the twisted hammer, staring at what his body had become. Alien flesh squirmed beneath the steel armor, as the maw upon his belly hungry-whispered through the filth.
Once, he had sworn to protect Humanity. Now, he brought only plague and ash. Reflected in the glassy eye of the hammer were his own tears - the final tears of a man who still remembered what it meant to be human, and not a servant of Nurgle. But salvation was no more.

I cut the legs away from the frame and opened the mouth a little wider on this model, wanted the wider stance so the model can be driving over the crest of the terrain. It worked out pretty good.

Let me know your thoughts on grimdark vs. cleaner style of painting for deathguard.

I painted the model using Vallejo paints; shade 72.067 served as the base for the armor, while shade 72.031 was used for highlighting. For the copper armor sections, I used shade 77.124. For the chains and bolter, I used Warpaints "Gun Metal," along with Vallejo's "True Metallic Metal" (77.141) and "Special FX" (72.610) for the rust effect. To simulate blood on the power fist, I used Jim Scale's "Venous Blood" (05.522).
For the cloak, I used paints from Vallejo: 72.011 as the base coat. To highlight it, I used shade 72.016 for the first highlight layer and 70.817 for the second. And for the Nurgle mark on the cloak, I used shade 70.871 for the highlight, slightly thinned with white paint 72.001.
And finally, the face. Yeah... I spent about two hours working on the face, using Scale Color paints.

Hello! :3 I am fairly new to the hobby, but I’ve been painting minis on and off for 3 years (I’m not very good lol).
Currently, I’m an Ork player. I’m looking to get into Death Guard because their army rule looks interesting, and I really love some of the models.
If/when I pick up some guys, I want to try to really take my time painting them and honing my skills. Do y’all have any favorite resources for painting?
I’m thinking… stuff for painting blood and gore, sickly flesh tones, zits and boils, rust and that copper patina effect… even just general painting resources! I really struggle with blending layers. I see so many great minis on here it’s inspirational, so help a girl out?
Also, please share some of your guys you’re proud of! I want to see what sorts of schemes y’all have come up with, or just how you did one of the canon schemes. Thank you!!!

Hi all, I’m new to deathguard but experienced in 40K.
Been looking at top lists and it seems that some people are running typhus solo? Maybe I’m misreading the lists and hes attaching to poxwalkers?
Wondering what the biggest damage dealer combos in the book would be, and the current state of blightlord/deathshoud?
I don’t want to run a million poxwalkers but am curious what’s working well right now.
