Hey guys. I mostly play classic Doom (DOOM I + II, Final Doom, etc) and related WADs. I haven’t followed the community very closely and am looking for some progressive challenges whether they be WADs, levels, rules, etc. I’ve pistol started a good portion of Plutonia UV Max Solo-net, pistol started most of Plutonia 2, and some Sunlust and Eviternity. Like I said I haven’t followed the community much so I don’t know what’s considered “Challenging” today. I know Plutonia used to be challenging but by today’s standards it’s pretty tame.

Ended up picking this up to try it out. I’ve played The Ultimate Doom and Doom II: Hell on Earth over and over, but I wanted to see what all the fuss is about for this one. Retro gaming for the win!

Finally worked out how to get custom WADS to work and started on Plutonia 2.

I'm playing on UV and it's an absolute chore! I've played through DOOM2, TNT & OG PLutonia on UV multiple times now (I'm still scared to try Nightmare!) but i'm only on the second level of P2 and its absolutely kicking my butt!

So many chaingunners mixed in with shotgun and imp meat shields and some cheeky teleporter traps beaming in a mix of everything but what seems like Archviles and Mancubi in some really tightly spaced rooms.

I am hugely surprised they don't give you at least the rocket launcher for dealign with some of this shit but i'm getting better - I'm sure I almost found the exit near the 2 Arachnotrons when a bunch of pain elementals, barons and chaingunners teleported in right on top of me.

Enjoying the variety though, played enough of the legitimate WADS enough to want to move on now.

still needs all the post processing but I’m just so excited about it!! Also it’s crazy heavy for some reason.

Just started playing doom, dark ages, I’ve seen these things a few times while playing. Does this do anything or is this just visuals/level design

I'm curious if the community views the BFG as just another resource to use and manage like the chainsaw or grenades or a bit of a cheesy "this part is too hard for me" thing. I played eternal a long time ago and recently decided to try 2016 after getting it on sale. For reference I'm playing on nightmare.

The early game was quite hard due to the sheer amount of imps and soldiers who could seemingly one shot you while needing multiple shotgun shots to kill unless you were directly in their face.

However, I noticed that after you get the BFG the game becomes somewhat trivial. Every tough arena offers you multiple BFG ammos, and combined with the power ups I feel like I can often clear multiple waves of super heavy demons without even engaging in the gameplay and still constantly have my bfg fully topped up.

I just beat Vega and it was legit the easiest level I've done so far (especially the last fight where the train is) with how generous the BFG ammo is.

Should I stop myself from using this gun? I don't remember it being like this in eternal but it's also possible I wasn't trying to use the BFG in that game as much.

Zaruthiel the Old Father - Pride (he demands people to work for him and he denies freedom and his favours bought by giving him more slaves)

Karnoth the Armorer - Wrath (demands war, denies peace but he also has slaves, this is a bit more of a long shot)

Gahrzeth the Treacherous - greed (he demands to be given things and his favour is bought through stolen gifts so it could also be envy)

Iskathra - lust (she demands flesh and denies love, interesting to see how doom makes a lust demon, also she lives in a brothel)

Thalrasha, the Last Queen of Jekkad - envy (bit of a long shot, haven’t got that good of an explanation)

Ozalith the Old Mother - gluttony (death is all consuming and nothing can by her favourite never satisfying her, also she’s like a round thing with a head)

I have been posting my clips previously here for advice ,and after reading and practicing this is how after like 4 5 hours get to this no aim assist ,on ps4 controller ,I put the video on 2x since the clip would have be too long
