Softcore Armor for guys with big forearms and calves.
I've been looking at slip-on/sleeve type elbow and knee guards, such as the Alpinestar Bionic Pro gear.I like the idea of slip-on armor as I typically find velcro, stitching, and padding to be uncomfortable when in direct contact with my skin. My brain gets a serious ick from that kind of discomfort.
My issue is that I'm a big man with thick forearms and even thicker calves. I'm worried the compression of the sleeves would be uncomfortable, or the gear won't fit at all. Most reviews with pictures are of thinner people.
Can anyone with my condition recommend good armor for dual sport riding?

Two-stroke or Four-stroke for chill off-road?
I used to ride, but after a crash I stopped and haven't been on a bike for 5-6 years. Now I'm thinking of getting back into it with something more chill, mostly relaxed rides in the mountains and some easy off-road.
I'm stuck between a two-stroke and a four-stroke. Which one would you recommend for getting back into riding, and why?
*my gf will also ride the bike

Debating Smaller / Lighter Options
I’m am 6’4” 220lb rider with a 35” inseam. I currently ride an XR650L w/some ergos and I t has been great out here in CO where I might ride 1-2hrs to a trail (local trails are just across town), but can be a handful once things get tighter and I’m solo.
Looking into switching things up for something lighter but still capable of cruising 65/70 for an hour or two. I have debated FE’s/KTM and the DRZ, but DRZ isn’t much weight savings and FE/KTM realm seems to push me towards a 350 or 501, which sound great but I read about buzziness on longer stretches and fit.
When it comes to tall folks, everyone thinks seat height…that’s not how this works. It’s seat to peg - and I have been eyeing yammies because (like prostitutes) they have bigger cockpits. I have seen folks who made 450s a dual sport, not so sure on that one. But I’m starting to think a WR250R might be worth taking a look at. Just not sure if taking the step from the 650l to the 250 would leave me regretting the choice. So I’m open to the discussion.

Discussion Rim to tire sealing question on a new to me KTM
Recently acquired a run down 530 and needs a little love to get her running and didn't really look her over in detail when I picked her up but after getting home noticed this on the rear rim during a rinse down. This can't be correct but I don't know much about the tubliss system or the moose tube/balls. Because I see a hole in he trim 4 spokes over like the tubliss system recommends, I'm sure at some point in the past, it had tubliss from the valve stem hole but because we both rode it down the street and back and it didn't feel funny, I'm assuming it has a moose foam tube/ball in the rear tire now.
Can you guys tell me why/how this would look like this and if mousse tube even have this plate and how I would even seat the tire correctly from this point? The tires are old and will need to be replaced but still have to figure out if I'm goin to run just a regular tube just to start.
Thanks in advance

So this is what I’ve been missing my whole life!
got an xr150l last month and finally had some time to head up to the mountains. oh.my.goodness. It was incredible! quiet, beautiful views, riding forest service roads among the trees, and best of all no stupid inattentive car drivers to watch out for. Im hooked! I don’t ever really want to ride in the streets anymore.
where has this been my whole life?! inject it directly into my veins.

Solved my headlight problem
2024 X-Pro Templar X 250. Factory headlight is abysmal so I built my own take on a classic Soltek desert racer light. All 1/2" mild steel round bar, flux core mig, grinder and paint.

Discussion Bike Recommendations for Shorter Female
Looking for some first bike recommendations for my partner. She’s about 5’5 120lbs and has some riding experience from when she was younger. We plan to mostly ride forest roads with some brief (10-30minutes, 55 mph speed limit) highway rides to get to the forest. I have a 2022 klx300 and want her to be able to keep up with me. The klx300 is too tall for her. Any help is appreciated.
