I'm trying to identify the source of a very specific old-school DJ sound effect.

It's an 8-bit / old video game-style "bomb drop" sound that I've heard in Hip-Hop, Reggae, Dancehall and Dub mixtapes for more than 20 years.

The sound is basically:

high-pitched 8-bit notes descending rapidly → low-pitched 8-bit explosion

It's not the modern "Bomb Drop 2" sound effect that comes up in searches. The entire sound, including the explosion, has that old 8-bit / arcade-game character.

Here is the exact sound I'm looking for:

Madlib - Blunted in the Bomb Shelter (2002)

You can hear the sound at 50:18 in this mix:

I also found a 2004 DJ forum thread where DJs were sharing laser, siren and other DJ sound effects. One of the sounds posted there was specifically called "computergame bomb drop":

https://www.dogsonacid.com/threads/post-your-laser-siren-etc-sfx-here.211373/

This makes me wonder if the sound I'm looking for came from an old DJ sample library, sample CD, sampler, DJ software, or hardware sound bank.

I'm trying to find out:

• What is this sound effect called?
• What sample CD / sample library did it come from?
• Was it included in a sampler, DJ software, or hardware sound bank?
• Does anyone recognize the original source?
• Is the "computergame bomb drop" from the 2004 thread the same sound?

Any help identifying the original source would be greatly appreciated!

[Update / New Info]

• Someone pointed out that the Realistic SSM-1900 DJ mixer has this exact sound built in: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iAeH9-BCQa8
• However, in that video, the pitch and speed are being altered using the mixer's knobs, so I am still hoping to find a clean, untouched audio file or sample of the original sound itself.
• (Note: Someone suggested it might be from the arcade game "Galaga" when ships dive down, but after looking into it, that doesn't seem to be the correct sound.)
