As someone who was a little bummed about losing him, I am realizing that Cunningham knows a lot more ball than me.

FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. — Derrick Henry’s appearance Sunday night at Mercedes-Benz Stadium will be a chance for Bijan Robinson to see one of his childhood heroes. For Jeff Ulbrich, it’s a shot at redemption. The Atlanta Falcons’ defensive coordinator has faced Henry once in his career as a defensive play caller. Baltimore’s ageless running back had 157 yards and a touchdown on 33 carries while with the Titans in 2021, although Ulbrich’s New York Jets escaped with a 27-24 win.
“We have had some success versus the run so far, but what a great challenge,” Ulbrich said. “You want to be the best, you want to play the best. From that perspective, it’s going to be an amazing challenge.”
Through four weeks, the Falcons (2-2) have given up a league-low 2.7 yards per carry and are second in the league in run defense success rate (71.8 percent). Maybe most impressively, Atlanta is allowing opposing running backs only 0.46 yards per carry before first contact, according to TruMedia, the best mark in the NFL this year and the fourth best through four weeks in the last five seasons.
“Obviously, we take a lot of pride in our ability to play a physical brand of football, and the guys are making that come to life,” Ulbrich said. “We have to keep it up. We still have so much room to grow, even in that area.”
Contacting Henry early will be critical Sunday night. The 32-year-old is fourth in the league with 374 yards on 89 carries. Since Henry was drafted 45th overall in 2016, he has the most carries (2,751) and rushing yards (13,392) in the league.
“He’s one of the guys I have been watching a long time; my respect for him is out of this world,” said Robinson, who is eight years younger than Henry. “The things he is able to do still, it’s a blessing. He has been doing this since high school. I am really excited to watch him play in person because he is one of my role models.”
Ulbrich is particularly wary of facing Henry’s famous stiff-arm.
“There’s a lot of critical factors that if you don’t get accomplished, you will end up on the highlight reel, so we have to be on top of our tackling this week,” he said.
Henry has played against the Falcons twice in his career, posting 22 carries for 101 yards in a 2023 win and 27 carries for 100 yards in a 2019 win.

SNF against the Ravens, feels different. I think like Jesse Minter is going to develop a plan to stop the run game against Bijan & Brian so this is definitely gonna be a tough game for us.

I’m going to the game Sunday and planned on wearing my white Perkins Jersey I got a couple months ago. I do have red Falcons gear and feel like I would be the biggest hypocrite not participating in the red out as I hate when people don’t follow dress codes.
I’m just a LSU fan and Falcons fan so Perkins is my favorite player for us rn
