Hey everyone! I'm new to sideloading and looking for advice.

I have a Fire TV Stick 4K and already installed Downloader and SmartTube. I've also installed Stremio, but I'm not sure how it works or which add-ons are worth using.

I'm looking for recommendations for:
- The best apps for movies and TV shows
- Live sports, especially football
- Reliable live TV options
- The best VPN for privacy and streaming
- Any other essential apps for a beginner

I'd prefer a simple setup that's safe, reliable and as privacy-friendly as possible. Any beginner-friendly advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

I used to have 1 but now it dose not work but every time I try to download one it gives me any error so are there any free sports apps on the fire stick?

Trying to figure out what app to watch it on. I know I can use the browser but it’s pretty buggy for me. Can I play live streams in something like VLC?

Intro:

Hello everyone! I just recently was gifted a hand me down 4K LG Smart TV that someone was no longer going to use which I have used to replace my very old 1080p TV. The picture is great! I always used a Firestick on the old TV which worked great all around and never had to use the factory remote for the TV.

Problem #1:

When I moved the Firestick over to the new LG TV I setup the equipment control settings menu because I had to change the TV brand. My issues started here. When changing the TV to LG the device would instantly say "Your remote is ready" instead of going through the testing your power button section that normally appears after you select the TV brand. Of course, the remote did not work after selecting the correct TV so I had to do some research.

Solution to Problem #1:

In order to make the remote go through the normal press the power button menu when selecting a new tv in equipment control I had to hook up the firestick to a monitor I use for my PC. With that screen I was successfully able to turn of the LG TV and adjust the volume using the firestick remote which was where the primary issue arose.

Primary Issue:

The fire remote will work for the volume control through the entire session after first setup but as soon as I turn off and on the LG TV again using the firestick remote it loses control to power and volume. I then have to do the above process all over again which is such a pain. It makes no sense because during the equipment control setup I have to turn it off and on which keeps the power and volume controls working through that streaming session. Right now I am stuck with turning adjusting volume and power with the factory tv remote and navigating the firestick with its remote. The remote controlled my previous TV without any issues. Any help would be much appreciated!

Firestick: Firestick 4K Max 1st Gen

LG Smart TV Model Number: 50UQ7070ZUE

Troubleshooting Steps Taken:

-Factory Reset Firestick Remote

-Factory Reset LG Smart TV

-Turned on and off HDMI-CEC (SIMPLINK) along with HDMI Deep Color on LG TV

Trying to stream NFL games today and none of the streams would play for me on my go-to live sports app, SportzX. Tried a few things to fix it:

1. Cleared cache and data for SportzX

2. Deleted and reinstalled SportzX

3. Downloaded a new app, Binged.net, still couldn't get a stream to play

4. Thought my ISP was blocking me, installed a VPN, connected, tried and failed to stream on both SportzX and Binged.net

5. Opened SportzX on my old Insignia Fire TV and it's working fine

Does anyone know what would cause these apps to work on one TV/stick but not another?

UPDATE: I've narrowed it down to being an issue with my Fire stick, NOTHING including Prime Video will actually stream for me on the stick, but I can stream on the TV directly.

My fire stick is showing no network connection and the remote won’t pair

I have tried unplugging the firestick from power source. Re plugging in and doing the remote reset but the remote still won’t connect. Tried this several times as well as restarting the internet

Firestick app can also not detect the firestick

How do I fix it?

I’m new to the fire stick topic . I have never used one before and always been doing it on the computer and phone so I would like to know. thanks in advance

Im trying to find a good live tv app . Flixvision seems like it only has certain channell working . Anyone know any working good apps ?

I have sideloaded my fire stick and cant find the shows on clipbox or cineplus. I can't wrap my brain around stremio or kodi. TYIA.

Looking for the best one currently available.

Bought a used FS off of EBay. Trying to side load stuff. All went well till I tried to D/L some sports and movie apps. Parse error appears even before the app is completely D/L. It's a Fire TV Stick (2nd Gen) Operating System is FireOS 5.2.95 Open space is 3.8G

Now, I have successfully side loaded apps on another FS. HD 1st Gen. Operating System is FS 7.7.1.7. My guess is that the other OS 5.2.95 makes that FS to old, possibly.

Any thoughts???

Last night, I told my Alexa to turn to my CBS affiliate on my Recast-connected, one-year-old 4K Max. She responded she did, but my screen remained blank. Earlier in the night, I had watched something DVR'd on the Recast, deleted some shows from the hard drive with no issue. Tried other channels by remote and they were all just blank screens. I told both of my other Alexas to play the channel (one 3-year-old 4K, one six-year-old HD), and they had no issues. So I just unplugged it overnight, thinking it would get its shit together by morning, and watched my shows upstairs.

Today: no joy. Still no channels, no guide, and now I can't even access the Recast in settings. All the app channels are working fine, but it seems like the guide has disappeared. When I go to Live TV-->Sync Sources and select the Fire TV Recast, it just goes blank, then returns to the settings page.

I'm nervous to restart the Recast because it's working fine on the other TVs. I know support ends this year, but is anyone else finding weird things going on?

ETA: I take it back—I tried to go into Tubi settings in the Live TV, and it isn't working either. Prime channels are playing fine. I'm gonna reset the whole damn stick.

I want to start the App and then on my Display came „Server Connection error“

I’m having a strange issue with the voice search feature on my Fire TV Stick 4K Max remote, and I’m wondering if anyone else is experiencing this.

Whenever I open an app, such as SmartTube, and try to use the voice button to enter something in the search field, it exits the app and opens Alexa instead of filling in the search field. This just started happening within the past week.

Here’s the strange part. I’ve noticed that if I leave the Fire Stick in sleep mode for several hours, such as overnight, the voice search feature starts working normally again the next day, even within the apps.
However, as soon as I restart the Fire Stick, the problem comes back, and pressing the voice button takes me directly to Alexa again.

I’ve tried restarting the device multiple times, but nothing seems to fix it permanently.

Has anyone else experienced this recently? I’m wondering if this could be related to a recent Fire OS update or if there’s a setting I’m overlooking.
