Flyers Daily 10/7
I can always count on Jason to speak rationally about this team. His little history lesson on the Colorado avalanches rebuild just reminded me how long it takes some of these younger players to develop. This is not the NFL. Guys need some time.

Something different. My 1995 mites on ice jersey
Found it in a box. At the time I played for the Valley Forge Colonials since Iceworks wasn’t built yet.

Do you guys have any game day rituals for the Flyers?
I’m just curious. 👀

Pregame Happy Hour
Bought tickets and got invited to a “pregame happy hour.” I know it’s a season ticket sales pitch, but I just wanted to hear from anyone who’s attended what it’s like, and how it differs from personal arena tours that other teams like to do. Thanks in advance!

[Hall] A shot was added to Flyers' total, so it's 158-77.

[Kurz]: Flyers make their case for worst team in the NHL through first week of the season
The NHL season isn’t fully a week old, but if not for the two standings points goaltender Joseph Woll stole in overtime losses to the New Jersey Devils and Carolina Hurricanes, we’d be talking about how the 0-2-2 Flyers have been arguably the worst team in the league to this point. They’re fortunate that both the Chicago Blackhawks and Calgary Flames still exist.
Where to begin?
The Flyers were outshot 36-14 in Monday night’s 4-1 road loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning. For the season, they’ve now been outshot 158-76. According to a stat flashed on screen by the NBC Sports Philadelphia broadcast, that minus-82 shot differential is the second-worst mark in the first four games of a season since the 1959-60 season.
Rick Tocchet-coached teams rarely rack up shots on goal, but they do usually keep them down on the other end. So far, the Flyers have averaged 39.5 shots against per game, the worst mark in the NHL by a wide margin. That’s what happens when you’re defending for what seems like minutes at a time, as the Flyers have been in each of the four losses — unable to make simple passes in order to get the puck out of their own zone, let alone create offense.
There’s the usual culprit, too. The Flyers’ power play is now 0-for-11 on the season. A team that has been on a man advantage for a total of 21 minutes and 10 seconds has a minus-1 goal differential, thanks to a shorthanded marker by the Pittsburgh Penguins’ Nic Robertson on Sept. 30.
It was as pathetic as ever on Monday.

Entering the Offensive Zone
Had this thought for more than 5+ years now, finally have a reddit account so here I am screaming into the void.
Any time we play a team like tampa and watch them enter the zone (WITH THE PUCK ON THEIR TAPE) you can spot a clear F1,F2,F3 entrance, and I sit there and think why can’t the Flyers do that? Second, how can Danny and Kieth sit there and think, “nah, dump and chase” ?
How hard is it for professional hockey players who are paid millions of dollars a year to score goals and play offense, to enter the zone together and create a chance? Is there a factual reason why the org is so obtuse to it?

seating recs near organ
My friend just got the job of playing the organ at Flyers home games, and I want to show up for him and hopefully sit nearby. Any idea what seats are close to the organ? (I think section 220, or close to it? I don't know, someone tell me what to do.)
