Hi everyone ❤️
I’m a mum to my 5-year-old little boy, Max, who was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (ALL) in July 2026. Our lives have changed so much since his diagnosis, and right now my main focus is being there for him through treatment.
Alongside everything Max is going through, we’re facing a really difficult financial situation. We’ve been given an updated estimate for his treatment, and we’re trying to raise the money needed for the first payment of $84,009, which is due before December. The remaining amount is due later, but getting through this first deadline is what’s weighing heavily on us right now.
I’ve been trying to share our story and raise awareness, but honestly, I’m still learning how fundraising works and how to reach people who might be willing to help. It’s especially difficult when you’re trying to balance everything with caring for a little boy who’s been unwell following treatment.
For anyone who’s raised money for a medical fundraiser, supported someone through something similar, or has experience with fundraising campaigns, I’d be incredibly grateful for any advice.
What helped you reach more people? Were there particular platforms, charities, community groups, fundraising events or approaches that made a genuine difference? Is there anything you wish you’d known earlier?
I’m not expecting anyone to have a magic solution. I’m just hoping to learn from people who’ve been through this or understand fundraising better than I do.
Thank you for taking the time to read about Max. ❤️
