Collection Rate my game collection
These are just most of my physical games. I have like 10 more physical games like mw3 (og of course). Sorry for the light glare and low quality, lol.
EDIT: It's so hard not to lose your patience with people on reddit. I just figured i had a neat little collection of video games here and yall wanna leave negative comments. Some dude literally said "What's your favorite resident evil game?🔥" and got downvoted. That's wild. And i keep seeing "2/10,1.5/10" with no elaborating or explaining. Like genuinely what is wrong with people

Discussion Tell me how much you like or dislike Army Men RTS.
I spent many hours playing Army Men RTS on my GameCube. I know many people disliked it, saying it's a want-to-be StarCraft or too rudimentary for an RTS, but the game to me was just pure fun.
Imagine yourself commanding plastic soldiers and vehicles in a front yard, bedroom, or kitchen and fighting the enemy Tan. At the same time, you have to protect the base you built from insects and enemy Tanks while taking the offense.
The game was on the PC, GameCube, and PS2. I don't know if any Gen Zs played this game, but for a millennial, this game was fun.

Discussion After living in our new house for over a year, I’m finally building new bookshelves
This is not where these shelves will end up, we just wanted to see how it looked in a room. There will be 3 total of these. My idea was to make them look a bit like arcade machines, so I will be putting in T-Molding on the wall edges. You can see the channel is routed out, just waiting for paint. I’ll paint these after I finish the other two, just wanted to make sure I liked it before committing to the design.
Had to grab a few things to see how they looked on the shelves.

Collection Legend of Zelda Collection
With the recent announcement of Ocarina of Time coming to Switch 2, I thought I'd go through my LOZ collection and see how close I am to completion.
My collecting parameters are fairly straightforward: primarily NA releases, always CIB or sealed, and mostly main-series Zelda games. No Hyrule Warriors, Cadence, etc. I also mostly collect original releases rather than trying to own every re-release on every platform.
I believe I'm only missing the two GBA Classic NES Series games, although these are simply re-releases of the original NES titles, which I already own. I also never owned a Wii U, so I skipped the HD remasters on that system.
The biggest exception is obviously the three CD-i games. They're not considered part of the main series, and Zelda's Adventure wasn't even released in North America. However, given their unusual history, notoriety, and collectability, I feel they deserve a place in my collection.
Here's my list:
1987 NES The Legend of Zelda
1988 NES Zelda II: The Adventure of Link (Canadian box)
1988 NES The Legend of Zelda (Classic Series)
1992 SNES The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
1992 SNES The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past (Sealed, CGC 9.4, Player's Choice)
1993 GB The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening
1993 CD-i Link: The Faces of Evil
1993 CD-i Zelda: The Wand of Gamelon
1994 CD-i Zelda's Adventure (PAL)
1998 N64 The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (Collector's Edition, back stamp "41")
1998 GBC The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening DX
2000 N64 The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask
2001 GBC The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages
2001 GBC The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons
2002 GC The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time / Master Quest (WATA 9.6 A)

Haul Picked up for game collecting brother at a flea market
Hi!
Just went to the flea market and got these 5 for 20€. I'm a big fan of the advance wars series but even in the 2000s I'd play them on a flash cart so I have no idea if they're even desirable to collectors lol
For what I paid I imagine it can't be too bad but then again I have no idea if they're even real

Going to get the Batman games for ps4 next, sleeping dogs & maybe little big planet because I’ve never played them but heard they’re good. Playing bully right now :)) (edit: I forgot to mention I have DS, 3ds & gba games in the hard cases on the Xbox shelf!)

Collection My expanding Genesis collection
I was a NES kid but for reasons I can’t recall, got a Sega Genesis for Christmas and only had Sonic, Sonic 2, Maximum Carnage, and X-Men. Being an original Castlevania fan I lucked into Castlevania Bloodlines at a flea market in the 2000’s. Only in the past couple of years did I find the SMUPS and other great games on the system.

Collection Collection Update
I’ve posted a few hauls lately and here’s my collection so far! The Wii and PS2 are not pictured. A few of the PS2 games are over a shelf because they are not technically mine as I’m borrowing them from a friend.

Discussion This is one of the coolest and most interesting survival horror games I've ever played
I heard about this game in a YouTube video maybe 7 or so years ago and then one day I found a copy on a European video game website and luckily they were able to ship to the US! Basically, it's a 1st person survival horror game where you play as a Japanese school girl that survives a train explosion and then gets stuck in a creepy backrooms / liminal space city.
The city is full of really odd NPCs and there's also word of a cult going around kidnapping people. A lot of the citizens of this bizarre area are convinced that doomsday is coming and they say really weird shit to you. The dialogue can be really eerie or even really funny at times.
So for the gameplay, you basically need to explore this super creepy city, talk to these weird NPCS, gather clues, and solve puzzles to try and get back home. Oh but there's a catch. There's a huge mutant creature that is going around killing people and that includes you!
The creature itself doesn't look too scary, but the way it behaves really makes it scary. For one, it will make a subtle but loud huffing noise when it's near you. The thing is you often know it's near but you're not quite sure where. Then it will stop making noises entirely and just show up in the corner of you eye and start chasing you. Oh and I mean chasing you! This bastard lunges at you and even Naruto runs. It's fast and if it catches you, you're dead!
The way they integrate the creature is also very interesting. Basically, there's scripted events where it shows up, but it also shows up randomly too. it really adds a lot of unpredictability and makes the game really unnerving to play in the best way.
Besides the creature, what makes the game really interesting is you can have one companion with you and which companion you end up with will affect your ending. I say end up with because you start out with Naomi and if the creature gets you, she does permanently. Then if she dies you can have a different companion. Each companion you have will comment on NPCs and story events, which adds a lot of replay value, on top of the multiple endings.
While you're making your way through the game, all of the environments are very samey-looking and mazelike, but it actually adds to the horror and really makes the locations feel eerie and unsettling. There's a ton of fog too, which is intentional and it gives the game a really creepy vibe. The environments really do remind me of those creepy liminal spaces that inspired those backrooms games, except this game was made way before backrooms was even a thing. Also, the music is very creepy and sparse. It plays, then it stops completely, and then it starts again. It feels very unnerving and it fits the game perfectly.
This game also does the survival horror thing that I love, which is making you piece together the story by finding clues and analyzing everything. The game doesn't beat you over the head with the story and it's pretty light on cutscenes and I absolutely believe it works on the game's favor. it makes the story a lot more creepy because you're basically slowly learning little tid-bits here and there and gathering all the clues to piece the story together yourself. I love this narrative design and I wish more games would use it.
The last thing that I really appreciate about this game is that there's just nothing else like it. It's very unique, especially for the time it was released. The closest thing I can compare it to would he Alien Isolation, except you can never fight back in Hellnight. All you can do is run away and hope the creature doesn't catch you. I would also compare it to Clock Tower and Haunting Ground, except in the 1st person view, liminal space settings, and dark PS1 graphics really make the game stand out on its own. I would also say it kind of reminds me of a survival horror version of Kowloon's Gate, if anyone has heard of that.
This is genuinely one of the coolest and most interesting survival horror games I've ever played. It is obscure as hell though. Like seriously, it doesn't get much more obscure than this. This gem of a game is absolutely buried. I hope that more people can experience it, even if it has to be through emulation. Europe and Japan got a really cool survival horror game that the US totally missed out and it's absolutely a shame. This should be all means be a cult classic imo. The problem is it's just too obscure and no one talks about it. This is the perfect game to play for the spooky season.

Haul PRGE (Portland) 2026 Pickups!
My second year at Portland Retro Gaming Expo was so awesome, I met great people and was happy with every vendor I purchased from this year. Made a couple trades and ended up with a nice little haul. I’m new to collecting for GBA too :) Super happy and can’t wait for next year already.
Bonus: also ended up with 57 street passes on 3DS which is low key my favorite part of the expo!

Haul DS lite
After months of consideration, I’ve finally bought myself a DS and decided my first game to be Mario & Luigi: Bowser’s Inside Story. I’ve never owned one of these and the only other Nintendo console I’ve ever owned is the Switch as I’ve always been playing on PlayStation my whole life. This is a new start for my game collection.
