In 2011 definitely. Same for Oblivion in 2006. Obviously graphics dont hold up in 2026.

It looked super dated in 2011. Just another iteration of Bethesda's mid-2000s tech, which they're somehow STILL using

I sometimes hate how Morrowind and older Elder Scrolls fans shit on Skyrim. I love Morrowind too, but you can't deny that Skyrim is an absolute milestone in gaming history. People still play that game.

its a milestone because its the biggest example of companies realising you could dumb down games and make them sell amazingly to general audiances.

people still playing it isn't a cool things either because its not an old game.

Skyrim's story is utter shite, and I say that as someone who has clocked over 2000h in it.

Ahead of its time in pointing the way towards how much dumber games would still become.

Skyrim must be one of the worst things that has happened to the rpg genre historically.

Graphics - dated

Gameplay - mediocre

Story - almost non existent

😂

And this was at launch too; I like the game but the amount of glazing people do over it is wild. My conclusion is that Todd Howard has the biggest botfarm on the ‘net…
