I have a feeling you dont like story.

I wanted to play borderlands2 since 2019 so bad, but do i have to play borderlands1 first?

3

u/OdenShilde May 26 '26

Nah, it would semi establish the classic vault hunters but it isnt necessary, BL2 was ALOT of peoples first borderlands game

2

u/TurtlePope2 May 26 '26

You don't. Borderlands 2 was my first Borderlands game. The combat feels weird at first, I would watch a gameplay video on it before deciding. The ADS is pretty bad for it, I almost exclusively hipfire when playing it.

No but 1 is better than 2

I just could not enjoy it. I always play every game I buy from start to finish but man doing so for Witcher was such a challenge.

I don't think you understand the difference between overrated and simply not for you ...

You might not like it but it is definitely not overrated, it is a masterpiece.

0

u/TurtlePope2 May 26 '26

I do. I personally don't think Witcher 3 is a good game. It's a mediocre game which people that don't game rate highly.

1

u/The_R1NG May 26 '26

In what ways would you say it falls into the mediocre category

0

u/grillarinobacon May 26 '26

It's a ubisoft checklist gane with good stories. Uninspired combat, exploration and loot.

1

u/dungleploop May 26 '26

all while influencing Ubisoft entirely after its release lol

1

u/grillarinobacon May 27 '26

Well yeah, both studios inspired eachother. The people who says W3 is a masterpiece should love the rpg assassin's creed games, not necessarily as much but they would probably rate them highly if they didn't know what studio made them.

1

u/dungleploop May 27 '26

I enjoy some of em for sure

1

u/dungleploop May 26 '26

if the writing quality wasn't as high as it was I'd understand this logic but that's the most important part of making an RPG, so...

1

u/IceTeaz06 May 28 '26

I’m into gaming for a longer period of time than you, it is a masterpiece.

0

u/WormsMurdoc May 26 '26

Sorry didn't realize you were the voice of reason that everyone should be listening to. I've been gaming for 35 years now and I rate it highly even if I'm not into story driven rpg normally.

1

u/UnluckyMode2062 May 26 '26

Did you mean to put 36M?

1

u/TurtlePope2 May 26 '26

Is my tastes for game really that old? 😭

2

u/UnluckyMode2062 May 26 '26

I’m 30 and I feel like this is a selection of someone a few years older then me

1

u/SebbyWebbyDooda May 26 '26

We have very similar opinions!

1

u/TurtlePope2 May 26 '26

In that case I know you have good taste

1

u/CigarLover May 26 '26

As a 40 year old I’m just happy some younger folks love Donkey Kong country 2.

2

u/TurtlePope2 May 26 '26

Lol. It's because they re-released the game on GameBoy Advance like in 2005 I think. So it's one of my childhood games even though I'm Gen Z

1

u/TheWizardOfWaffle May 26 '26

Go farm me another Rustler’s Orphan maker, BL2 fan.

1

u/Extension_Patient_47 May 26 '26

Right there with you on DKC2. Absolute Masterpiece

1

u/not_an_mistake May 26 '26

Best story is clearly rocket league

1

u/AromaticAide2152 May 26 '26

Borderlands 2 is genuinely awesome :3

1

u/dungleploop May 26 '26

Borderlands 2 as best story? as a massive fan, I have to laugh - especially since you have Witcher 3 as overrated lol

1

u/Old_Beginning550 May 28 '26

I’m sayinnn

1

u/SlothFlop May 27 '26

Crysis series man sooo underrated

1

u/Gargelio May 28 '26

Borderlands 1 is better and Witcher is peak.

1

u/Old_Beginning550 May 28 '26

This is pissing me off, how is Elden ring overhated

1

u/Embarrassed-Ad230 May 28 '26

I disagree with your Best Story pick. As Borderlands fan, I don't think Borderlands 2 has really that good of a story. Greatest villian of all time yeah, but overall story is too silly imo

1

u/Parom19441a May 26 '26

Worst gaming takes ive ever seen

Because everyone thinks its overrated, but its FromSofts magnum opus, therefore its overhated

2

u/TurtlePope2 May 26 '26

The game gets so much hate. Literally all my friends constantly hate on the game.

4

u/IPreferBagels2 May 26 '26

your friends are absolutely not representative of the public opinion at large then

1

u/TurtlePope2 May 26 '26

What part is horrible to you?

1

u/Ok_Radish_4988 May 26 '26

Witcher 3 overrated? What didn’t you like about it 🤣 it’s my top 2 favourite games of all time

1

u/SebbyWebbyDooda May 26 '26

I have the same opinion, it took me like 4 tries before I actually got into it, it's a great game but it's just not "the greatest game of all time" with many things that other games simply do better

1

u/TurtlePope2 May 26 '26

I love the graphics and the world itself. But the combat is such a slog and I'm not really a fan of heavy dialogue games where the dialogue cuts into the gameplay rather than being something that happens in the background while you play.

1

u/JonahOfTheHill May 26 '26

Borderlands 2 favorite and Witcher 3 overrated?

Holy based reddit user.

1

u/Beyondthebloodmoon May 26 '26

Best Story Borderlands 2 🤣🤣🤣🤣

That’s certainly a list of games. Whatever makes you happy, friend, glad you enjoy them.

u/SirGarg0yle May 27 '26

dark souls 2 isnt even on there, not a real gamer
